I'm late to see these posts but wanted to chime in to say that my FW7 also damages the wrap on any cell I use with it and none of the well-intentioned advice from folks here about putting them in differently makes a difference. It's pretty much stopped me from using it since you can't charge it with the battery in like my other portables

Congratulations and well done. The FW7's performance really is first rate. Enjoy man! Oh and keep an eye on the battery wraps just in case
the damage to the wrap has mostly been reduced with a "break-in" period, but it's now two batteries that have damaged wraps. i tried to smooth out the wood on the + connection side since as someone pointed out from one of my pictures, there was a piece of wood that was sticking out and a bit scratchy to the finger, and i think that helped, but it's still causing minor damage. i see a new mark every time i take the battery out, even with the batteries going in and out a lot more easily now. so now i have two batteries that are just for the fw7.

no doubt it's a sweet device, but seems a bit strange that a less damaging battery compartment isn't part of the design, especially when it seems like more than one or two people are having this issue.

Yeah I have a Sony VTC6 and an LG HG2 that I use just with my FW7... That's enough for me to rotate for my needs and I use other batteries with other vapes, but yeah I am definitely expecting an improvement in this area for the FW8 at least I hope so!

Got my Firewood today! I feel like everyone must say this but it's both smaller and more beautiful than the pictures suggest. It really is the perfect pocket vape.

Still learning how to use it effectively, coming from a CFX the lack of draw resistance is quite frankly, amazing. I feel like I need to pace my draws out longer as I'm used to just sucking and the airflow being completely limited by the vape itself. I haven't gotten huge clouds yet I don't think, even at preset 3. But it's windy so maybe I am haha. I'll have to follow up once I sit on my buddies porch tonight. My only issue so far is figuring out how to use the mouthpiece without it sliding down flush. Right now I'm pressing the button with my index and holding the mouthpiece in place with my thumb.

Congrats on getting one! They've become my favorite portable.

Haven't personally had this issue but a temporary fix could be taking one of the extra red o rings that came with the device, taking the entire glass assembly out and putting an extra Red O ring on the smaller glass near the end/intake to act as a stopper that you can slide into place against the ceramic to act as a support when needed. Sorry if my wording is confusing enjoying a firewood bowl right now lol, enjoy!

I go at preset 3 at 420F

I wait for the ready buzz, and as soon as I start my pull I let go of the button. Then I pull until the done buzz goes off. As the bowl finishes I just hold the button longer.

Have fun

Thought so, pretty cool that it fits in the WPA like that! Although personally I would be mindful of the fact that it is not going up against the ceramic pathway, the way a 14mm male connection would, since the ditanium mouthpiece is shorter on the other end that is inside, I imagine you have a bit of a wood pathway between your ceramic ring and titanium mouthpiece with this setup...
Just got a couple of 14mm double male adapters delivered yesterday. Tried both for fit on my WPA and they don’t reach all the way to the ceramic pathway either. Any suggestions on 14mm glass adapters known to have enough length to reach the ceramic?

Dang sorry, I can at least tell you the one I got from DHgate, Sunshine store, 14 to 14 male to male, fits to the edge... You really never know with glass, I'm lucky I have another one, that I don't remember where I got it I think somewhere on eBay long ago because it is a 19/22 on the other end for RBT... I also have a drop-down from this store on DHgate, it's fun because it's not frosted even, there are other places to get different ones but these ones are unique at least?... You know I'm not 100% certain mine are all 100% ceiling against the ceramic, there could be a small gap for some? I wouldn't worry too hard about it, sorry to raise any big red flags! I do think the sunshine store ones are the longest of many I have, so that should help at least!? If you message them when you order, write in the notes, you can get one 14 to 18 and 14 to 14, even though the listing probably has them for buying two of one kind...

Thanks for the suggestions @Shit Snacks. I have tried every variation/combo of 14mm I have and they all have that gap, it’s a little bit more than I like now that I know it’s there. I think I’ll take my WPA to a nearby head shop and see if they have something that snugs up a little bit better than what I have. If not I will go down the routes you suggested. Thanks again. Maybe I should look for something that starts 10mm and flares to 14mm, if something like that exists (the 14mm male to male starts 12mm and flares to 14mm). That might allow it to reach the ceramic before it flares to 14mm at the WPA opening, if that makes sense?

I’m curious why it matters? I’ve used mine without issue for a year and it goes only half way in.

Because I read Snacks’ comment about the titanium mouthpiece, and then I got high, and then I started messing with my new adapters for my WPA, and got a little higher, and then I aimed my phone flashlight down the hole of the WPA and saw a big gap, and it bothered me…cause I was high. I’m sure it really doesn’t matter, but I was already down that rabbit hole.

Hey guys, I had an order confirmation of a fw7 in the drop last Sunday, I sent Marc an email but I’m yet to get a response. Was just to confirm everything’s gone through properly as I used transferwise for the payment, which I’ve never done before.

I understand he’s pretty much a one man show, so don’t expect super quick cs, so having said that, is it normal for him not to get back? As I’ve not got tracking yet either.
To clarify I’m really stoked to be getting one and just need some reassurance to just be patient >.<

It's Thanksgiving week, as you mentioned firewood is a one man show, it'll show up he's just been busy I bet, it's well worth the wait!!

Wow apparently my Sony VTC6 is done, yesterday it died on me, 3.43 volts when I put it on the charger, seemed to fully charge quicker than I would think but I wasn't following too closely... Put it in my loaded FW7 last night to use today. Died on me before I could finish the bowl, threw it on the charger and it said 3.43 volts, so yeah it's almost 2 years old now and it's my main battery for the FW7 so this tracks I guess though it never happened to me before actually! Luckily my other rotational firewood battery, LG HG2, even older in fact, still working fine! So I could finish my wake and bake bowl of tangiland (I have too many great options to use with it now, I had two hits on my lowest setting of 310F via 14-18mm male adapter in my heady hook, then two hits at my middle setting of 340F in my heady whale bub via 14-14male to 14-10mm drop down, and several more hits at my highest setting of 370F via the non-frosted 14-14 male to male dropped down in my aquatic rig... Battery still shows three vibrations left and started fully charged (the LG has modest sag, instead of being 4.2 fully charged it will drop down to like 4.17 or something? But yeah now that this Sony is so overworked it is dropping much more so I guess, I will test check before recycling it soon... Probably will switch to using more of my LG HG2 (have many) in my FW7 I think!

@CanikUser19 now that we're talking about it, I would not be surprised if any or all of my adapters were not sealing 100% flush against the ceramic, however I think they are all very very close regardless... My concern with the ditanium mouthpiece in particular, was because I knew it would be leaving a larger gap of bare wood vapor path btw ;)

Yeah I’d be curious to know what the inner diameter is on my FW7 WPA. My 14-14 male is 12mm at the mouth and gradually flares to 14mm, and it falls noticeably short of the ceramic, but is nice and snug fitting otherwise in the WPA. I’ll have to keep an eye on it to see if more resin builds in the gap and needs cleaning, but performance seems just fine.

I just got my hands on a FW7. It's not news to anyone on this thread, but this little dude is a surprise! I was actually a bit skeptical because hybrid devices have disappointed me in the past. I feel like the Firewood7 unlocked flavors I had not had with this flower in other portables. I did spend too long fiddling with the vibrations and playing with temperature. Also kind of overdid it during my tests, but the effects were amazing.

This is my first Firewood, but that guy is crushing it. I'll near first in line for the FW8.

That’s great to hear 😁 eagerly waiting for mine!
Got tracking at the beginning of the week and am fighting the urge to constantly check it.

What temperature(s) did you settle on?

I don't think I have perfected it yet, but I really enjoy starting a bowl at 370F. That is a higher temp than I typically start with on other devices but with the FW7 it results in a very bright flavor up front.

I also obsessively check tracking numbers so I relate😄. I got my FW off entExchange. Seller said they prefer concentrates. Pretty happy on my end.

I suggest you both try 420F. The best part of the hit happens after you let go of the button. Start at 420F and once you start drawing release the button immediately and continue until the finish buzz. As it starts wearing out just inhale longer with the button depressed.

That is typically more in the "cooked" flavor range than I usually prefer. I will give it a try though as you recommend. I'm not one for chasing big clouds, I am pretty much focused on flavor and cerebral effects.

I am enjoying playing with the draw and button timing. I spend a lot of time thinking about breathing which is probably why I like vaping so much.

You'll be surprised. The first couple hits are very flavorful.

BiaoT blue saki bottle finally arrived yesterday after over three months shipping (it came and then got sent back at one point and had to be resent lol I'd suggest buying from GreekGlass if you're in the US, instead of direct bongt on DHgate like I did, but I wanted this color), really enjoyed using it with my FW7 today! Just a little bit of water to cover the two holes in the down stem (though I will try with more water later), good chug airflow and chamber size for dense flavor shotguns, and very comfortable to hold at an angle with FW7 level flat upright, mouthpiece is the perfect size for me too...

I have this same rig. Love it with my Dynas with a short wpa. Mi3 is a bit awkward to use with it.. Also have yet to break down and buy the fw7 wpa.. I tried the bb9 but i dont like it and the 10mm section bottoms out before the 14mm can seal on my new bubbler (Grav med upright bubbler).. think my fw7 is gonna be strictly a dry on the go vape for the meantime. Love it tho! great little rig

The WPA is a must-have I still say even if you only use it dry, just fun to play around with all the glass I have, I haven't used the stock setup in so long, but it is a truly great design as well and I really was surprised how much I like my FW7 through water honestly!
