Very very interesting. The firewood website no longer says next batch available January. Now there is no date.

Firewood 8 on the horizon?

Could be but IIRC there was not a date for the next drop before December.

Oooh. But the WPA is back in stock. I should probably get one and stop using my BB9 at a weird angle.
I noticed that too. I thought about pulling the trigger but I so rarely go through water. Still, I am sure people will be very happy and will sell out soon.

It is not needed for water per se, it is amazing to use through dry glass like jayhooks or even a rig without water in it... Super simple to keep clean, ceramic tube path direct, trust me it's worth picking up!

Would you say it only changes the experience of using it or does it become like 2 vapes as it gives it a different vape signature?
I use the firewood with the WPA 90-95% of the time. Every time I switch back to "native" the thought that it feels like 2 completely different vapes comes into my mind, because the weight, dimensions, even the orientation and button placement change. Your grip changes. I mean the power is still the same but the draw resistance changes, it performs just as well in either mode but it's far more comfortable with WPA even if it is heavier. better vapor conditioning, better draw, far easier cleaning.

Mine becomes two vapes. I use my simrell mvs as a mouthpiece 😀

Haha that's not what I meant though, I'm talking about how it changes the form factor, and the vapor path, while allowing you to keep the FW7 level upright in use. Sure there are a lot of stem options in the standard configuration thanks to the dynavap stem compatibility, however there are even more options in the WPA configuration thanks to the standard connection simplicity...

It only changes the experience of using it: the form factor with ergonomics and orientation, plus the vapor path with simple straight shot ceramic tube below the oven, easier to keep clean, opens up potential cooling options which could enhance the vapor quality although the actual signature is going to be the same since the heating extraction is the same... Make sense?

Exactly, this is what I'm talking about, thank you, the form factor changes so much making it feel like a completely different vape even though the actual vaping is the same, however the vapor path can really allow for more options to condition the vapor and improve the experience imo

Using it with the default mouthpiece assembly makes my lungs strain a little more, but the extraction and flavor and such is definitely the same. I could see how some people would prefer it, because the tighter draw usually makes people slow down, so depending on technique, temp settings, and preferences and such, it could help some people hit their personal "sweet spot" to go with the narrower option. For clarity I'm considering the WPA through dry pieces like my j-hook or empty bongs, adding water can potentially add a considerable amount of draw resistance depending on the glass.

I adore the form factor of the regular mouthpiece equipped firewood7, it sits just perfect in pockets and in my palm during use, it's just the actual vaping from the WPA is smoother, plus my custom j-hook is 14mm male so it's secure af and shaped like a sherlock holmes pipe, so even though my go-to WPA set-up is heavy and unwieldy in comparison to the default, it's still 1-handed and it's pimpin. My absolute favorite thing is how easy it is to swap between the WPA and mouthpiece, they slide off and on so quickly, smoothly, and securely it's crazy satisfying. I would probably marry the firewood7 but the darn church keeps calling the cops on me.

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
Howdy all,

Been a while since I visited/posted. Glad to see the Firewood crew is still going strong.

Still loving my FW7 and it's still the best portable I've ever owned. This week I finally broke down and ordered a couple of new green-wrapped Samsung 25Rs (mine are getting a little long in the tooth.) I got them from the 18650 Battery Store since LI ion were sold out.

I was surprised/concerned to see the following printed on the battery's wrap: "Fire Hazard! Not for Vape! Never install, carry, or handle!" None of my old batteries (also green wrapped Samsung 25Rs) have anything remotely that scary printed on them.

I know I've been out of the loop for a while, but is this a widespread thing now? Do all 18650s carry this warning? How are you supposed to use these batteries in any capacity if you cannot install, carry, or handle them?

I fully trust that if there was an issue, Mark would have said something, but like I said, I've been gone awhile and for some reason I rarely get notified when there is new activity on the thread. (Just started getting emails again a couple of days ago. I didn't do anything, so I don't know why.)

Yeah, I've been using 18650s for years without concern, but this stuff has me spooked. Maybe it's because it seems like I've been living in the land of Murphy's Law for a while now and old certainties are now anything but. So, any reassurance you all can provide would be most welcome.

Thanks,

I was not around to check, but I saw they shipped out my WPA this morning. I assumed that meant there was a drop and he was fulfilling orders today.
I was up again at just before 2am uk time ready for the drop. Kept refreshing till 2.15 ,no sign of a drop. But my luck is terrible so can't be 100% .

I don't know if you've looked into this and have a plan, but if I recall correctly, you are not even able to order this outside the US...
Yes you had mentioned this before. I have emailed Marc and he mentioned no problems about UK shipping and an Italian chap on reddit had 1 delivered to him straight from the source.
The site allows me to put things in my basket with my UK address and gives me shipping options .
Just can only pay by transferwise or Wise as it is now known.
But until I can actually get my hands on 1 physically it is still conjecture as I can't 100% prove it is capable 🤔
