Discontinued RBT Milaana 1, 2, 3

Okay, here goes... first let me start with, this the first the vape that requires 18560 batteries.

Thank you for chiming in with this important information Razhumkin. As I said, I am totally out of my element with on demand vapes and batteries. That said, I guess I just need to learn how to pulse the button and regulate my breath. :leaf:
On the MI3 the key for me is to start the modulating right before the vapor starts.
If I wait till I see or taste\feel it its too late and it scorches.

Has anyone involved in the auctions heard anything from Ryan or Lee yet?
I was just about to post the same question!

They never stated a specific time to announce the winners, but the next shipment will not be until the end of August anyway, probably busy with other things at the moment!

I tried to email Sunday to grab a Splinter. Haven't heard back. New here. Not new to vapes.

He'll get back to you when he can, if you haven't heard from him before the end of this coming weekend I would follow up again?

Morwood and RBT are totally different companies run by totally different people selling somewhat different products. Try Leerbtmd@gmail.com for RBT purchases.

Looking good. With these mutants, does Unkl Mark build from scratch, or does he convert your existing Milaana?

I believe he was sent a bunch of different Milaana in the big RBT box from Ryan, a lot of them had broken glass so all Mark has to do is swap that and then he gets to add his wood, there could be more involved though!

To my understanding, these recent Mutants are all built off walnut Mi2s that Ryan sent him (though I think @Kudzu407 has a Mi3 Mutant?), your choice of two wood accents. That said, I bet he would chop up any Milaana you wanted to send him, for the right price.

Edit: I should add that I've purchased a few devices from Unk recently and he is very fair with his pricing as far as I'm concerned.

Yep unkl marks good peeps. Nothing but good things to say. And to above: yes! You need a 2. You do. I’m only walnut sadly, and shan’t be getting an exotic, needs me a Zion m.

Yep all mine came from Milaanas he had and one was a Mi3. He sure does some beautiful woodwork. Great to hear everyone enjoying his Mutants !

Arb, that’s what I’ve been experiencing. The taste/feel and when I check the bowl, the middle is scorched and there is un vape ring on the outer edges. From what I understand, the Mi3 runs hot and no need to preheat.

I’ve tried the, press down button and start to inhale softly for three seconds, release the button for three seconds and so on. I‘ve tried twelve to eighteen three second on and off technique and I must not be regulating my breath correctly, cause the only time I feel, taste, see vapor, is when it’s too late and I’ve scorched The bowl.

When I’ve scorched the bowl, I get way too medicated. I really like the Mi3 and I want so much to get in the groove with it and be able to micro dose with it. I can do the Simrell, 2019 M pared with the VHB. I’d love just to vape with the Mi3 only but, it too unpredictable for now.

thank so much for your encouragement and the tip on the taste, feel and seeing the vapor, I’ll pay attention to this in the foreseeable future when I use the Mi3. The Mi3 has such a good reputation and a good following, that also makes me want to get it right and make the Mi3 a keeper! :peace:

I find its easier to get a good hit when you can see the vapor forming, as it gives you another indicator of where the heater is at. So if you can hit it out of a jhook or water pipe with the space to see the vapor, that might be helpful when learning how to master the mi3.

The Mi3 does 'run hotter' in the sense that it would reach a given temperature quicker than a 2. YMMV but in my experience I get more even and controlled hits in all of my Milaanas when I give them a good preheat (more of a heatsoak, really). Try giving the Mi3 like 5 second preheat and feather it for another few seconds before you start hitting, and backing off the button a bit while drawing, experimenting with quicker feathering (like maybe twice a second?) :2c: the Mi3 is more of a wild stallion than the Mi2, but I have confidence you shall tame her

@NimChimpsky; It feels good to have such great community here on FC, thank y’all for all your tips and experiences. I darn well will get it right! I will do the five second preheat and proceed to replicate your technique. :leaf:

@Razhumikin; I’ve been fascinated with getting a nice bubbler for a while now. Perhaps this the time I should invest in a wpa and a nice glass piece. I’ll see about ordering a wpa from Vapefiend and a glass piece from GRAV. :leaf:

Edit; @Razhumikin, looking at this GRAV‘s bubbler https://grav.com/products/7-grav-upright-bubbler-clear and this wpa https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/ra...ter-water-adaptor?_pos=4&_sid=190c4c924&_ss=r will this work? Unless you or the members have better suggestions, I’d be happy to hear from y’all. I’ve never own any water pieces so, I’d like to get it right. :peace:

I have the grav large bubbler and its really nice so yes i can definitely recommend it. I have a similar adapter from the herb cafe and it works great, so yea i assume it should work fine.

@Elfstone the form factor of the Grav bubbler Raz recommended is great for just about any vape, I've been meaning to grab one of that style on dhgate for my Milaanas/ZionM (~$30 but cheaper glass than Grav). This thread is quite the rabbithole:

I’m sorry to see you are having such a tough go of it.

You mentioned “lightly inhale”, is this just at the start or through the entire pull?

It's my experience that it mostly comes down to technique. A combination of button presses and draw speed. The issue is everyone has different lung capacities and like with wind instruments, everyone has different embouchure muscles so technique will often be unique to each specific person. There are baseline similarities for sure, but you will need to adjust according to your own physiology.

Having said that, I've found that a stem pack is much more forgiving than using a basket screen when trying to figure out the device for the first time. Moving the load even a couple of millimetres away from the heat source makes an enormous difference. It's much more forgiving and will allow you to hold the button down for longer periods without scorching. You still can scorch and even combust packing this way, but it's a little more difficult to do than with the basket screens.

The flat screens I use are 14.8mm and can be found domestically (if you're in NA) at VGoodiez and a few other places. You can also order them from overseas for much cheaper, but it will take a bit longer as with most things.

I'd also recommend trying to vary your grind. I find too fine a grind tends to hotspot for me with a lot of my convection devices.
