I'm so keen to buy one please. As per a member above, I have sent a DM but not sure if I did this right.

Did you manage to find out what is the connector type for mighty/crafty battery for the device mainboard? I need to change my batteries because they currently have about shortened cycle time and i need to cherge it 2-3 times a day. I live in Europe so i guess buying 2 packs from you would be both costly and i would have to wait for delibery and customs. I decided to try making it on my own. Can anyone tell me what is the connector type for the might battery? if i damaged mine id like to have a spare one

I've posted about this in the main Crafty thread at some point as well, but the crimp pins used are the Hirose DF3-22SC, and the plastic housing for the pins is a DF3-2S-2C. You'll also require a crimp tool w/ a maximum 1.9mm crimp size (@ 1.9 you'll need to tighten it slightly cross-ways after crimping, or it won't fit in the housing, but a 1.6mm crimp is a little tight and can be tough to remove from the crimp tool after crimping)

You can get a crimp tool for these if you don't have one from Amazon for about $50-$80 + shipping.

Edit: also make sure to use proper wire that can support the current that the vape will be running at, or you will cause issues that will likely cause excess heat and damage your device.

@JCat Thanks for reply.
How about normal Hirose DF3-2S-2C connector? Wont that work?
About the cable do you think 24 AWG will be enough?

what do you mean by “normal df3-2s-2c connector?” (I didn’t know there was more than one type of df3-2s-2c ...)

24awg is not sufficient for the current in these devices. You would need a minimum of 22awg and I use a specific 20awg that has a smaller than typical actual diameter so that it is compatible with these connectors.

Fine threaded like locomotion cable? Usually the awg is what it is, unless aluminum compacted?

Hey, got to install new batteries to my mighty today.
Used exactly those batteries:

And these connectors:

everything worked great, battery life is doubled when compared to previous batts. didnt notice any overheating. the only difference is quicker heat up and longer battery life.

if you are wondering about doing it and your mighty/crafty has bad battery then i highly recommend it. whole operation will take less than 20 $ and you will be glad afterwards
thanks to @JCat for manual and guidance.

It's very tightly wound, so thus the diameter is slightly smaller than other wound 20awg wire I tested (It's a silver plated wire with a high temp and durable shielding)

Although I mentioned that there might be an issue w/ the 24awg wires, now that I think about it, this is not necessarily true; as the heater in the Mighty may run at a higher voltage (since it has 2 cells) vs the Crafty, depending if they are in parallel or series, and if they are running at twice the voltage than that would half the current requirements to generate the same power.

So the higher gauge wire may only actually be a requirement for the Crafty and not the Mighty :) (It may well work with a 24awg on a Crafty as well, but this would definitely exceed the current carrying capacity of the wire by quite a bit, which I wouldn't personally be comfortable with)

Glad you got up and running @maxiak :)

Thanks, that means a lot
Your battery packs are obviously much higher quality, but i got my Mighty used at bargain price and i would have to get elements from abroad which would cost a lot and take weeks.
Best of luck for everyone

Just an FYI--what I am basing my #'s on ... for chassis wiring, current carrying capacity is as follows:
- 24awg = 3.5A
- 22awg = 7A
- 20awg = 11A

And if you take a Crafty that runs at 27W, if a battery is at it's lowest before cutoff (lets say 3.6V), then the current being drawn is 27/3.6 = 7.5A

(thus the reasoning behind my 20awg wire to be extra safe :) )

The Mighty, if it runs the batteries in series, would only require 30W/7.2V = 4.2A max.

Hey there!
Planning on changing the battery on my crafty, been searching but haven’t found anything concrete among the 400 pages and was hoping to get some help from all of you smart folks regarding the choice of battery.
Planning on using Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh - 10A (3.7V Lithium Cell 18650) - Witch as far as to my knowledge should work flawlessly, am I right in my research? Only thing I could think of that could be an issue is the charging current.. but shouldn’t be an issue right?
Ps also planning on changing the battery on my mighty
Cheers

Thanks I read the thread before posting, but since he only installed an 18650PF and not the GE with 3500mah I wanted to check with you smart folks before pulling the trigger since the 18650ge the crafty+ came with as stock was only 3300mah

Hi everyone,

unfortunately due to rising costs of cells and shipping, and concerns around shipping of dangerous goods, I’ve decided to stop (at least for now) this service.

I have a few cells left that I may send out within Canada/US, and will look into dangerous good shipping options in the Fall, and will resume this service if I can do it for a reasonable enough price.

unfortunately, just with the increased costs in cells, I will have to at least increase the price to $50USD vs $45, and at that cost, and with a likely shipping increase, I just don’t see this as viable.

sincere apologies, and thank you everyone for the business over the last few years.

all my customers have been a pleasure to deal with :)

Has anyone had success with replacing the battery in one of the craftys that came with 20% extra battery. I've tried doing mine but the crafty seems to think it's still the old battery and is still only giving me about 1 session.

I know many of my customers did with success.

sometimes you need to leave the battery out for a while (or maybe press and hold down the power button when the battery is out)

I’ve seen strange behaviour like charge level not matching actual battery levels when quickly swapping cells before when first testing different cells in my OG Crafty
