Of course, it could be the heater, pretty much like in the Vapbong.
Or maybe the coil heats a glass part that will, in turn, heat the bowl? (i. e. the same as with the eNano but with the glass instead of the ceramic).
It would be great to hear direclty from @Dreamwood about this!

It's a kanthal wire wrapped around a glass part.
I bought the cooling mouthpiece for the combi mouthpiece setup and really dig it, especially in combination with the new mesh pods. Cooler vapor and even extraction.

From my understanding, looking at that pic @ChilledAsian posted, it looks like the coil is out of the airpath, it's heating a glass tube, like a big Tubo heater... but I could be wrong... Do you have more infos about the heater?

I did ask dreamwood once about the heater if they were using kanthal wire and they said yes. Also, there seems to be a glass rod or something inside, I'm not sure if the coil is totally out of its vapor path though.

@Therapy I got my walnut Glow about the same time as you and I’ve only used the supplied kanthal coil. i haven’t noticed any unusual effects whatsoever.
However @Franco experiences a weird feeling in their teeth with kanthal - although I have always had a similar sensation regardless of whether I combust, vape or consume edibles.

Yes, I confirm that I've experienced this weird feeling with 2 different kinds of kanthal coils (plain and twisted, in a double coil setup and a single coil setup respectively). Also, the fact that kanthal contains aluminum doesn't make me feel safe.
As for the wood, I've never heard anything strange about walnut, whereas some people report some kind of (allergic?) reactions with exotic woods like purpleheart for example.

When I bought my Santos Palisander Glow (v2), the stock coil was stainless steel (and performed quite well).
When that coil broke, I tried the different kanthal coils supplied, but then switched back to SS after a while because of that weird feeling in my teeth.

I ended buying the rbt cooling stem kit for vepefiend for just 31€ shipped. Since they are a little shorter they keep the bowl a little higher than the standard glass one, and I find to get better coverage and almost no hotspot! And I'm really in love with the xl8r junior stem, it cools a lot and is pretty small! Does anyone have some good advice on how to carry it around without breaking it? thanks

Hello, forgive me for my messy blurb here.
Absolutely love the RCV 18, and RCV DLX. Have no regrets buying both as i have found myself using them all the time. Love that you can put them on any decent mod with watt mode and just dial it in. I find 35-45ish watts to be the sweet spot on most of my mods for both devices. Usually run both at 40 now. Vapor production is killer with the right technique. A slow draw seems to be best depending on the stem or adapter used. The 19/19 figreaux adapters sold by @508phineas on insta work well with the RCV 18. feels like there's less restriction, the cooling is fantastic. Very sturdy. Everything by dreanwood is very well made as well. The RCVs are absolutely beautiful. The short cooling mouth piece is very sturdy and does its job beautifully. I definitely need to get some glass for the combi mouthpiece. Even with the traditional wood mouthpiece the device rarely ever gets too hot for my tastes. Love the vapor profile. There is definitely still potential for me to dial these in more.
Regarding the RCV DLX specifically. I would almost say its elev8r like. At least in terms of the design. The bowl is quite massive and it hits hard. When i was running it at 35w it was a little more finnicky to get consistent results. I realized i wasnt taking cooling into consideration and now running it at 42w. Getting mich better heat up times and can fill up my mega globe a few times over before i clear the bowl. It heats fairly even. I just put enough flower to leave a little clearance for the heater no tamping necessary.
I am still learning both devices, and have to catch up with the thread. Just have been meaning to let the world know that the RCV rips.

Good evening peeps, I’m after some help & advice.
I have the G18 V3 and absolutely love it, been using it between 40/42 watts and it works a treat with j-pods!
However this is where my issue start, I wanted to try TC with dry herb, Iv never owned a dry herb vaporiser before so the G18 was my first experience with vaporising herb and wished I had started years ago, been using green for over 38 years, I was always a spliff man and never really wanted to try vaporising my herb, Iv been vaping juice for the last 3 years because I wanted to give up tobacco & since I found the G18 for the first time in many years I’m now completely tobacco free!
I know the Glows work well in wattage but reading some of the treads on here really made me want to try TC, I purchase the Odin DNA 250c 2 x 21700 because 1. I was tired of my batteries always dying on me & 2. because the DNA boards are meant to be fantastic for TC performance, Iv had many mods and boy this one is a beauty!
Iv tried two different coil set up with no joy at all, first one was with
SS316L ID:3mm Twisted 3-38 ohms came in @0.18
Second set of coils were
SS316L ID.3mm 24G ohms came in @0.17
No matter what temperature I set it to, I even went as high as 600*F just to see if I could get it hot enough to get some vapour but no joy at all, it just gets hot to where you can’t touch the coils but very weak in the heat department for vapour etc!
In wattage mode both sets hit 40w and are no different to the Twisted Kanthal coils pre installed, plenty of taste and vapour.
I’m getting no where near the heat I need to get any taste or vapour,I I touch the coils & they are hot so untouchable with hands but that’s it, no matter how long I hold the fire button it just doesn’t get anywhere near the heat I need, you can stick ya little finger in the base of the wood and its barely warm, like I said I’m a vaper so I know about watts but Iv never used a DNA board or TC at any level.
If anyone knows any tips to get it working I’ll be very great full, having spent £129 on a mod for TC and not get it working completely hurts my soul!
Iv looked online but can’t find the information to help me solve this issue, they all point to TC juice vaping settings & I need TC settings for dry coils, so if anyone has any DNA 250c TC settings it would be appreciate very much!

Alright. Ive been reading this topic to page 13 but have a question I cannot help but ask.
Every time I press the button for the whole 10 sec duration there is 'smoke' for a lack of a better word, right before it turns the coils off.
Is this normal? I have a video but how to upload hmm
