@Roffa, what kind words! We've been smitten, mesmerized, and seduced by those same factors... the ability to have precise and subtle control over your vapor, while staying visually connected with your weed the entire time, has completely changed our relationship with weed.

Glad that you're enjoying your Neo!
I am! Thank you for making it available. Also want to say that the countdown gauge is great for timing the draw. Also the moment when you heat-soak the bowl: the scent, the terpenes that are released: that aspect reminds me of gong fu cha tea making. And yes, much more connection to the flower and I like that.

Why don't you give your vape a little massage? (I don't know if it belongs here...the NEO is deeply involved! ...Let me know.)

Just a few thoughts:
- Big clouds! - What a waste! I guess... about 90% of the goodies leave your lung unused.
- Atomizer! So let him do his job! I wondered what temp is, while I draw and the lights go down by the Neo (the little dim of the glow). Short puffing all the way would come closer to "atomising"... otherwise we are baking.

Correct me if I am wrong: If I have big clouds, I decorated my environment more than my lungs inside. Atomizing would be if we had about 1000°C (what ever...) for a fraction of a second. And again and again....Atomizing the resins, not enough time to combust the fibres.

I work in the medical business. Some day years ago a little freaky tool showed up. Breath therapy. The Flutter. It can help with obstructive lung diseases. Blow slowly in, the heavy ball inside starts to wiggle and hop and a vibrato in the airstream evolves deep down to your lungs.
My idea is to turn that physics around. Inhale and let the ball hop and wiggle so your airstream is vibrating. Now the coil gets that fraction of time to keep the temp.

It works so far...

Obviosly a cone bonghead with a steel marble, 13,7mm. ATM I am sealing the gap with my lips. The silicone seal is gone. You can feel the pulse if you cover the "intake" bonghead with your hand. Maybe a Glas-marble or ceramic works to. Draw resistance is weight dependent. maybe smaller one gives a higher frequency...

While using different angles you can adjust the withdraw. Pulsing the airstream.
It seems to be that the weed discolours more evenly. The dim in the Neo is almost gone. A huge reduction in exhaleing clouds.

The pic up there is just the proof of concept 5 minutes after the idea. There should be improvements.
I call it Flutter-Reverse.

Let me invite you to try something:
Extremely short puffs all the way through. Possibly no cloud or at least no big clouds. While doing this, try to discolour (*) your weed as much as you can. Compare the "effects" with your other sessions/experiences.

(*) Fastest resin "atomisation"- the finer the better, but (I asume) the less cloud. At least we don't want to discolour (bake) our weed. We are looking after the instant vaporisation of the resins - where those terpenes and cannabinoids et. al. live.

... I love big clouds too. But the bang goes first!

Have a nice Weekend!

I'm buying a neo when stimulus hits, would love to use my old glass pipe again and I like people are using it with 14mm? dosage pods. Possibly I can use it with my stempod 14mm dosage caps and mini rig?

PS any off flavors or smells from the neo?

That looks very cool and involved! I guess what I like is that I can choose not to produce huge clouds (you're right, it's wasteful) just by subtly shifting my technique. E.g. I now do a little heat soak, at about 20% of the gauge, then start the draw and let that last until about 75% of the gauge is done, then switch off and keep inhaling. Much more development of the flavor than I had, previous to the neo and very interesting effects from the THC. I must say I'm a medical user primarily, but I've really learned to appreciate the herb. For now I'm happy with my simple set up.

@CaleidosCope, I agree that huge clouds are mainly just wasted product that hasn't been absorbed by your lungs (though I recognize that there may be controversy about that). However, clouds are the prevailing feedback that most people use to gauge the effectiveness of a device and their experience. And, let's face it, it can be quite satisfying to see the visual evidence of the pull that you just ripped. But frankly, I get much higher when I take several deeper, "lighter" pulls. And, the high seems to be more "complex"--though I could just be fooling myself.

One technique that I've been playing with is kind of a continuous breathing hit. I preheat a full cycle at 4/5 diamonds (depending on ambient temp), then drop it to one diamond (or zero). After that, I breath in through my mouth/pipe, out through my nose in the same rhythm and depth of a normal breath. With a good seal, this should yield about 4-5 nice pulls from a single 30-second cycle.

Perhaps someone should try hooking the Neo and pipe up to a c-pap machine... hah!

You are so right. Many ways may lead to Rome. May I was a little to medicated, and euphorized ;)... but I have that picture in my head: crossing accidentally my arm with a flame torch... skin was OK, hair were gone. NO smoke, but smell... yuck. That was kind a atomizing. Thats what the raisins should do...

I love the "visual evidence" too.
For now I preheat one full cycle at 5 stars. A half cycle (1/3rd) with 3 stars sitting on the bonghead. Two short swift draws then one long since I see the fog in my glasstem. Release the NEO. Pull through. 2nd draw: 3 stars till it glows... sipping slowly ... decide... cloud yes or no...

But now I can improve/try out things that I could not without the NEO! ;)

c-pap... mmmmmhh... the next point... how to inhale? Normal breathing rhythm is cool and works so far with air. ;) .... Deepest inhale?...Oh my...

enjoy it. As hard as you can ;) ;) ;)

Well it's a sad day at my house. After heavy, daily usage, the quartz chimney on my Neo fell out. I guess the glue couldn't handle the high temperature. Always on 5 diamonds. There is only 3 tiny little dabs to hold it in place. But it's no biggie. Just need to know what kind of glue that I should buy to repair it. I was thinking maybe gorilla glue ? Anyway here's a picture in case anyone wants to see what's under the chimney.

Picture won't upload, sorry

So sorry to hear that the chimney came out! Please DM me and we'll set things right.

Do NOT use any commonly available "glue" to try and re-attach the chimney. They will not work. And worse, some adhesives off-gas toxic chemicals at higher heats. We use a special bonding ceramic, made by a US manufacturer, that is high-purity "alumina" (a form of technical ceramic). When properly applied, it is rock solid, very clean, and handles heat up to 3000°F. Unfortunately, some of those early units were not assembled according to our instructions and the bonding was weak.

Hey everybody, CDXX Pipes made a beautiful briar wood pipe especially for the Neo. This is the one remaining from his very small batch. I admit I got one of these firsts (but it doesn’t look anything like this one).

His design includes an interior lip especially to accommodate the Neo. Can’t wait for mine to arrive!

I'm excited! I love reddit. I'll be there!

Likewise! BTW I swapped my Smojo screen for a Stickybrick screen, the Smojo's were letting plant matter get through.

The brick screens sit flat in my bowl slide and elevate the herb closer to the Neo, a quarter inch above the hole. This eliminates the need to pack a lot of herb to reach high enough, and I am not having to stir as much. Need a solution to keep the screen from moving or really just a different slide.

I would ideally have a very shallow cylindrical bowl with 3-4 holes over which I would place a screen.

We are really excited to announce that we have partnered with Purr Glass to create a custom-designed glass bowl for the Neo. We reached out to Purr because of their commitment to producing high quality, custom pieces. When we finally talked with Linda and Chad, the owners, we knew we'd found the right partners. Though daily smokers, they embraced the Neo right away and have now been 4 weeks combustion-free. #fuckcombustion!

Built on a standard 14mm taper and made from high quality Schott glass, the bowl has a rim that perfectly mates with the Neo to ensure a good seal. We chose to put 8-holes evenly distributed around the bottom of the bowl, driving the airflow out to the edges where flow is limited in a single-hole bowl. This will even out the flow through the herb, increasing extraction. The double-wall construction helps with insulating the bowl, reducing the priming time, while keeping the outer surface cool to the touch.

We'll announce it at the AMA tomorrow, but it's available on our website now... We wanted this community to be the first to know. We have 12 in stock right now, but we should be getting more early next week.

I sent him a note asking if he was going to have any more in stock that were darker wood and he said it would be 60-90 days.

So, I ordered this one from him this morning instead of waiting ;-)

@Philabrookla, In prepping for a larger extraction, I would recommend setting it at 5 diamonds and not pulling at all during preheat. This will load the zirconia with substantial thermal energy. Then, run a second auto fire with several 1-2 second puffs to prime the bowl until you see denser milk forming. Priming dramatically increases efficiency by distributing the heat throughout the herb and warming the bowl itself. Depending on the bowl and amount of herb, I would expect that to happen ~3-5 pulls through that second auto fire. At that point, I'd hit double-click again so you have a full 30 seconds to Hoover away! @SixStringToker and others, what do you think?

Just to contrast that recommendation... my personal preference for a pipe (not a bong) is to heat it 30 secs at 4/5, then drop it to 2 or 1 for priming and taking a longer, slower draw. I have found that this preserves the flavor more and yields a lighter roast.

@Hackerman, Thanks for letting us know about that battery terminal issue! This is the first case of it happening and I will add it to the inspection protocols and also notify Eleaf. DM or send an email to info@PrrlLabs and we'll set things right.

Battery note: One of the things that is a bit pesky about the Rim-C is that the battery chamber is very tight. If you're having a challenge getting the battery in, hold it at less of an angle (almost horizontal) when first inserting the positive terminal. We've even found that some 18650 batteries will NOT fit. This confused us since we thought that they were a standard length. It turns out that some brands are ~1mm longer than others... go figure.

-m
Just wanted to add since this post is about a month old and I just received mine last week. Mine had the battery terminal thing covering it as well. I moved it and it's working fine...no need to fix anything on my end...just wanted to bring awareness for your future customers!
