Wow. It's hard to believe vapman had been around for ten years.
I think the intricacies of that bowl would be difficult to repair unless a skilled craftsman can take a look.
If it's a basic model and you can get your hands on a new bowl you could just screw the new bowl in it's place.

Using the vapman in the dark is such a relaxing experience....
The way the lighter illuminates the device... The slight quiet whistle the device makes when the perfect slow steady draw is taken...

Hi all, thanks for the advice of this community on where to buy a vapman at present. I finally got myself a vapman in yew wood with a lovely grain from refined retail in the UK. 
The only thing I'm not sure of before I try it out is that the hole in the centre of the mica shield seems slightly irregular/not circular. I'm probably being too fussy here, but is this normal/OK?

I'm now enjoying the vape, and still dialling in my torch technique on my new vapman.
I am struggling a little with uneven AVB in the pan. The material that is right next to the gold metal can be dark brown, but the top of the load, next to the steel screen, is usually much lighter or even a little green still. What do you folks think I could be doing wrong here?

Yes , listen to boon. Less is definitely more , don't tamp down, you want to keep the herb loose as a goose. I think VM is the best micro I know of . I bought a second one for the times I get greedy , there's no waiting. I find using the heater is best in both cases.

the Vapman is used exclusively for herbs.
I always clean the Vapman once a week, the deposits unfortunately became more and more despite the weekly cleaning.
Now it bothers me.
Do I have to be very careful with the toothpick so as not to scratch the gold coating?

@vaping herbs , I've always used a combination of the magic sponge and a toothpick. I would cut off small pieces of the sponge (1 cubic cm) and use a toothpick to press it right down into those hard to reach places in the pan. Some back and forth rubbing with the toothpick/sponge and it's removed any residue for me. Be careful with how much force you apply to the pan though.
I originally put hash directly on the pan before I got some screens. So it used to be a mess after a few sessions but that cleaning technique worked for me.
As @Gourmet suggested, heating the pan a little will help with any cleaning as well.

I am not particularly squeamish about this, the toothpick can break from time to time.
Another option is to plug the holes from the bottom with toothpicks and fill the pan with acetone, let it soak a while to soften the coating a bit and then continue with the toothpick.
If you are very very careful, you can also try to minimize the coating a little with a small scalpel (and a very steady hand).
However, if possible, the wooden toothpick is to be preferred.
To avoid so hard coatings, I quickly clean the pan with the magic sponge so every 4-5 fillings.
As Bolano already mentioned, it works also best for me with small cubes.

Once the unit is in use and the wood has shrunk, It should go back to its original round shape.

René told me that they are in the process of transition of the company and that they will first relaunch the Company with new Vapmans (supposedly during the course of this year) and thereafter they will attend their time to relaunch the Station. But he didn't told me an exact date (I guess they have a certain time schedule in mind, but hold off making an exact date to the public at the moment)

I bought pear tree model off them last year. No issues at all. If you're in the UK they are definitely the best option for a vapman. I'm not aware of any other UK retailers that sell the vapman.
It seems like the wheels are in motion for the new phase of vapman. There is a vapman official Instagram account out and the vapman.ch website has gone offline. I can't wait to see what René and the guys have planned.

@Bolano Thanks for the info. Decided to place an order with refineretail. The online store excepted all my info except for my postal (zip) code. After numerous tries just gave up. Probably DHL doesn't deliver to this address. Their new website is vapman.com and its a work in progress. The two successors to Renee look awful young. When I was their age I certainly wasn't going to a bank for a loan for a CNC machine. I was just happy to make it through the days work after another all night party. Wish them and Rene all the best.
