No no difference in performance or effectiveness at all! Just a different experience and feel but even that’s ever so slight.
Thank you! If there are no negligible differences at all and nothing to gain, I'll more than likely be looking into the D - Cup in the next few months. The problem I've been having with the nut getting stuck with wax on my Vrod is really becoming a serious issue and bugging me. I'd really like some more wiggle room for dabbing than the dish provides on the V rod so that 30mm dish looks appealing to me.

Ok fine. Who doesn’t need two AVB Cans. Now I really need the dual pid stand. I hope they move onto that limited run next.

I thank you even if my wallet doesn't. Just picked one up plus I decided to pick up one of the glass bowls to try out!

Yeah that'll probably be my next 420 treat to self. I need to pay off my MaxVapor LOL! Then start saving for the DCup. But I have no good reason to buy it... I just like their stuff. LOL!

Personally my dabbing/double decker range is 620-670F, I'm sure some people find dabs at 670F a little harsh but it helps the flower bowl and the dab finish in similar lengths of time.

Those are some nasty burns, I learned early on to not reach over the stand when the head is hot

I have been staying with family since early July and been using concentrates only. Started my 2000 mile trip back today and ill be back with my flowerpots on Sunday. Looking forward to using it again!
AWWW MAN I know that feeling! So hard to be away from your Flowerpot for that long! Ugh!!!! When you get home, go in the crib and don't leave for a week!

Yo @The Stray Fox thanks for those pics of the dishes side by side. The halo is genius and it work great, but the dishes.... I need dishes in my life :)

Like @Socks And Sandals I’m finding the vrod halo to be wonderful, but also not without its faults. Obviously 30% of halo around the center is unusable, the trench itself is narrow and requires a lot of care to avoid spilling over the side or hitting the nut, and then the nut does get glued on, oil gets under the dish, etc.

I’ve completely become obsessed with concentrates and am actually heading over to the TB/DC thread a bit and try to hang tight on buying anything until Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

At last, my leisure incycler landed yesterday. Obviously not shocking at 4x the price, but CLEAR difference between the finish and quality/thickness of glass on the leisure glass vs my dhgate pieces.

Being small and aimed at concentrates use.... huge improvement with the vrod deck. Bigger hits and tastier to boot. Very cool little piece, but the size will def take some getting used to...

Is it safe to use SiC pearls in a quartz dish? Not sure of the hardness of SiC vs quartz. I have some quartz pearls, just curious.

Got my dish from dnail that @The Stray Fox linked. Thank you again. I can’t see any imperfections and wouldn’t have questioned if bought unblemished. Fits perfectly and universal carb cap is also snug. And yes, it does what it’s intended for, nicely.

So SiC is a 9 on the hardness scale and quartz is an 8, so I'll be skipping those pearls in this. I only have 6mm which doesn't fit, can't find the 5mm I had. Does anyone have a link to an ebay seller with cheap 5mm quartz pearls?

Yes I’ll find it. Give me some time!

I also got my D-Nail dish today! No real blemishes except for what looks like some minor machining marks.

my dnail quartz dish landed today
That’s awesome. I’m so glad these ended up with us FlowerPotters. I hope everyone is enjoying theirs as much as I am. I did add the out of stock “seconds” dish to my want list. If they become available again I certainly will let everyone know
hoping for a green friday sale at newvape
You and me both my friend!

I would be lying if I said the vrod wasn’t SO AMAZING that I got a little carried away with it when I first got it. A break is always nice and I might give the above method a try as an experiment. Getting better results with less material is probably attractive to 99% of us here.

Haven’t been able to “tolerate” flower (hating it, actually) for a week or two now, so only tasty concentrates for me. It’s been awesome, although as I’ve mentioned a few times, as amazing as the halo dish is, it’s got plenty of flaws as well.

Everything was getting a little too gooped up. I soaked the sic dish for a few mins in 99 iso, came out immaculate. The dish nut and the actual threaded top half of the vrod? Not so much. So I soaked them overnight in iso and the threads were clean and smooth after some scrubbing this morning. Took 2-3 immaculately clean dabs and ended the session. I’ve just come back a few hours later to fire the vrod up and the dish nuts already glued on again lol... the vrod can absolutely handle it, but it’s definitely not meant to be a “concentrates only” device as I’ve been using it lately.

my only real complaints about using it this way are 1) keeping that dish nut and the vapor path clean is impossible and 2) this is probably user error but I’m finding the vrod head (i can’t tell if it’s the dish or the head) “smokes” a lot after dabbing. I’m fairly sure this is all coming from that dirty center area from #1. But as I mentioned I just iso soaked my vrod yet it still “smokes” when hot and empty 10-15 mins after a dab. It’s either my qtips fibers (regular qtips which im changing out this week to test) or just the burning of dirty reclaim, either one I’d like to eliminate with a “concentrate only” setup, coming soon!

IMO you are being anal about things that don't really matter. Being new to the device it seems like they do though, as I also didn't understand the vapor path at first and thought it required cleaning (it doesn't).

I've owned a VROD for 2 years and never ISO soaked anything. 600-680 concentrate temp, NV SiC dish, some SiC terp pearls. Take a hit then dry swab with qtips, might be a little smoking from the nut, but the concentrate flies around in there and WILL get on the nut. Carb cap also creates a slight vacuum which might add to this. It's a non-issue though. I only take the nut off when I burn a dab on, and then I take the nut and dish off and torch it. Comes off just fine with pliers when the unit is still warm.

I qtip the nut a little bit after a hit, but some probably gets in the threads which causes the little bit of vapor to come off the head. This is not going to alter the experience. Smoking for 10-15 minute after taking a dab? As I said, I've had this 2 years and never have I seen that. It will let off vapor from the nut for a few seconds, and that's only some big hits. Hard to imagine how there is even enough material for it to smoke for that long.

ISO soaking is the wrong way IMO. You're also worrying about things you don't have to. The vapor path in the VROD head itself will stay 100% clean due to the temperature; it repels the vapor. You need to worry about the dish and that's about it.

Next time your SiC dish and nut are dirty, grab a torch and take them off the head. You should not be cleaning the whole head assembly, especially on a new device.

Yes, it definitely can be a concentrate only device as I've used it for many, many, many grams of concentrates in a 2 year period. I don't even really use flower right now. I'm in the camp that the VROD is the best, as I don't want a ton of different heads, multiple coils, etc. If your tolerance is so high you need a 30mm dish for your size dabs, take a break ;)

that was it. Insanely dirty nut.

I just torched the nut and it smoked like crazzzzzy. eventually it did clean. This was, again, after a night long soak in high strength iso.

Like I said, this stuff was baked on over several weeks. Now that I know (better) to give a little wipe or torch blast every day or two, I imagine it’ll not be a smoky goopy mess anymore. Thank you

I turned my extra AVB Can into a DynaVap debowler. I did just order a BC decapper but this thing has NV class. I added the cork to the knocker which has served me well for the ShovelHead. Stuck a piece of cut Ti dabber in it for poking and glued a 1/2” diametric magnet where the brush would normally screw in. 685C4966-9932-4B08-BD01-5C276800817A.jpeg

Lots of experimenting this past weekend. All good. Two biggest takeaways were lowering setting from 652 to 636, and using my glass dry.

The lower setting resulted in much more flavorful hits and even producing more of those. Medication level did not seem to be lowered.

Removing the water will take some getting used to but I like a more “bodied” hit anyway.

Oh...and tried the dynavap and vrod trick. Pretty neat but I’ll probably continue to use an IH for that thing lol.

Been having more coughing fits when vaping lately, not just with FP but with other vapes. I think it is mainly attributed to increased usage this year, I've filled a 40 oz jar with avb in 2020 (and i've dumped plenty in the garbage or in the wilds). Seems excessive when I look at it, but damn been a crazy year. I think the FP allows me to go through that much, IDK how I could have put that much through my fury edge or dynavap.
