Are there Splinter Z made in China, that are not blackwood ?
^^ Yes, Splinter Z V1 in bubinga wood.

Yup this is correct, sometimes it is referred to just as Splinter Z (vs ZV2 and US custom) which is how they list it on planet vape... It will be the cheapest of all the Splinter Z models, and it should be noted that the build process is not as perfected as it was with the later blackwood ZV2, so there could be manufacturing defects like cracks in the wood or other superficial imperfections.

So I'm trying to get a custom Z on a Ravage dialed in with Red Panda. Locked ohms at 0.39, TCR at 175, 45W. The same settings on a RX3 Dual give me plentiful vapor. On the Ravage it's slow to heat up and I get barest wisps. What am I doing wrong? What should I be tuning?

Mods all read resistance differently. Try letting it cool to room temp (and then some) and then under the coil menu hold down the button and it will auto recognize the resistance for your device

Chances are it will be a greater number

I'm in the minority but I don't lock resistance on my Splinter mods.

I've been enjoying TCR between 130 and 165. I have all my Zs set to max 50W rather than 45W so I'd bump that first. With just those settings and the unlocked cold resistance of a Z I get clouds from the first hit at temps down to 350°.

I have a wenge Z and a ZV2 each on its own Ravage both are excellent with the settings above.

In case it matters, I mostly use LG HG2 cells and never drain them below 65 or 70%.

Still kind of struggling with my ZV1 on the G3D with tubo firmware, been keeping TCR at 160 now with algo off and tried adjusting resistance but still came back down to .392 which seems close to what it's cold value should be though I'm not getting consistent readings... It is kind of working, but I have to use much lower temps, like I can vape a whole bowl to dark at 320 lol suppose I can put my wattage to 50 and see if that makes any kind of difference but I don't see why?

I’ll try bumping it to 50, but it’s weird how the exact same settings (aside from measured cold resistance) aren’t producing on the Ravage. Pretty much the same settings are also working great on an Espion. And both my Zs rip on duals. Do you set PID ever? Does it matter?

As for cells I use a mix of hg2s and Vtc5as.

I haven't fucked with pid myself.

If you're getting good results with the Espion I agree it doesn't make sense. My Ravage kicking so much ass with Red Panda and an easy config was why I tried the Espion in the first place. Both work great and both have identical settings. One of my Ravages was at TCR 165 for a bit and predictability running hot. It has since been switched to TCR 135 like the others.

Old & In the Way
What a difference fresh batteries can make!
I'd been using the same batteries (6 total) for what turns out has been just around a year and a half. (in 2 mods, 2 or 3 devices that power this way)
Got some new Molicel P26A's and have used first pair in the Ravage 230 with Splinter V1+ on it.
I'm a very happy guy! Just finishing 6th bowl and it appears there will be a couple or a few more before batteries need a charge.
The old HG2's were getting me about 4.
It seems this is a lesson I have to keep re-learning...my previous times were with Grasshopper batts...

i believe this is it. hopefully @MikeRotchHertz can validate as he has done these repairs. i know you will need to cut the tubing end to the correct length using a diamond cutting wheel.

Thanks..but I think I read somewhere in this thread that those glasses were not suitable for the US custom Splinter Z...If I remember well someone said that they are only good for Splinter Zs..but not the US custome ones..I am a little confused about this...
Sadly they charge 50$ for shipping to Europe....That is too much in my opinion...

It turns out cutoff was set to 10 seconds. Works fine now.

That is correct, the mountain glass one is only suitable for Chinese glass repair (Vs and mi3). When I last did a custom and mi2 repair, I was able to grab both of those from KGW, but I don't think that is an option now.
@Unklmark68 any chance you have any to sell to repair our wounded soldier?

Also, I'll try googling for some EU vendors for 19/22 female joint glass and compare dimensions

Thanks for the info.. I am really in the need of fixing this issue cause no vape is giving me the splinter z feel... If you find a suitable vendor for the female joint of the us custom splinter Z..please notify me.. Thanks again!
@nachooo
I have some Custom Z glass, but I'm not set up to ship internationally,Message me maybe we can work something out....

Where are people getting that he's coming back? I checked the RBT Instagram and all I see is a post of him... Discouraging people from registering to vote, I guess? And I'll just refrain from further comment there.
