So it says in manual ..:to move CU to not push on mesh but from sides But what if you push toward end for a small ball how do you get it back up to end you started from? Push all the way out? Just excited and got a month of questions

I have a small metal poking tool with a cylindrical end. I push the cylindrical end against the metal CU rim near the screen. That is to say, the rim of metal between the glass tube and the CU screen. In this way, I only apply upward pressure against the body of the CU.

I’ve never seen lithium battery chargers that have such cheap looking “springs” for battery terminal connections. Don’t see any display, just an LED light for feedback. For the sake of your heath and SAFTY, I would recommend buying a quality charger, the price difference is certainly worth the added protection, you won’t be getting with the ones you posted.

For battery chargers, search for “Mooch” in this thread as he has a long list of them he’s reviewed. Forgot who posted the link originally. There’s a charger (or two) for everyone on it.

With respect to adjusting the Cooling Unit inside a stem (presumably stock - I only have those) just blow gently into the stem with some mouth moisture and adjust the stem as described innumerably above. Use an object (or two) of your choice. Be gentle if pushing from the CU screen side, that’s all. I tend to push from the other (top) side. Since my pinky is the only digit that barely fits in the stock stems, that’s how I usually tamp a load; if just after inserting the CU I may be able to push up the stem with my pinky, flower and all. If not I also have a tamper. Good luck - and my the buzz be with you...

I have this one and it works great. The LCD is handy like @cybrguy says. More expensive than some other well-known competitors though and I have yet to use it to charge anything bigger than an 18650 so maybe it was overkill.

Looks like I can get XTAR for 25USD and UM4 for 40USD including shipping.
I guess if both are good, I'd go for the cheaper...

I see you have received a lot of good advice on buying a safer charger. Buy name brand, Xtar, Nitecore. And YES, what you have is a FIRE waiting to happen. And even after you get a safe one, NEVER leave lithium batteries unattended while they charge. Most 18650 batteries can SAFELY take a 2 amp charge, so you won’t be waiting too long. I’m glad to see you taking this seriously, perhaps others will reevaluate their own chargers. This is one device you don’t want to save money on.

Try and choose one that offers a 2 amp charge. While many acknowledge that charging at a lower amperage can extend the life of lithium’s, the actual spec sheets show most can easily use the 2 amp setting. If you are in no hurry, and will be in the vicinity of the charger, then use the 1-amp setting. Most of our battery uses in these devices stress the batteries more then charging them. Best practice is to rotate a bunch of batteries, like you do with sneakers!

Yeah, even the TM itself uses 2A charging. No prob for the cells mentioned here.

I use the SkyRC MC3000. 4 bay 3 amp charging, all sorts of cool features too. diagnostics, cell conditioning, tracking cell health, etc. pricey but can be found at good deals online.

It actually charges @ 3 amps, or it has 3 amps to share between it's 4 bays? I would think 3 amps is a lot.
