Thank you @blackstone for all the useful informations.
@LesPlenty and @stressed wow knowing the mighty has several sorts of well known failures is not reassuring at all. Hope 2020 will welcome a new vape to compete with that beast
I checked out when I bought my first mighty.. it lasted one year from purchase to taping it up. BUT, I vape all day every day. it was my daily driver. i'd probably load it 25 to 30 times in a day. anywhere from .05 to .1 per bowl. I've already loaded this broken one 7 times today. it's 6:30 a.m. :)

and I would be kind of rough when twisting the top part on and off hundreds of times.
it's still the best out there.

edit: I just watched a 420vapezone video. they guy explained that you should never tap the top part of the mighty on the body of the mighty as it might break the plastic parts. that is exactly what I was doing. tapping it an untold number of times to clear out the abv. no wonder it broke duh!

after not using the mighty for a long time, I had forgotten what a pain in the ass the auto shut off is. I hook it up to a bubbler and just hold the hose. I tend to space out, take a long toke and then realize that once again the damn thing is off. :)

Hi Guys, new here, just saw vapezone 420 video about the volcano hybrid and I'm just worried if anything could be unhealthy about the Mighty. I'm on my 3rd Mighty it's my absolute favorite but no way would I risk my health of inhaling any plastic/metal particles or w/e there may be. Can anyone explain to me if this could be the case for the mighty?

I doubt it because it doesn't have the 2 separate pieces of aluminum that touch in the bowl area. I don't have a mighty at this moment to see for sure however. I do remember pictures of the guts of a crafty and there wasn't anything that rubbed on the metal bowl or heating element. I think we're good thank goodness.

Extreme temperatures are bad for rechargeable batteries and electronics in general. Use common sense, don't let it get too hot or too cold for long periods of time. An icy cold Mighty is going to take a long time to get up to temperature. Cold batteries lose their charge faster and then they have to use extra effort to heat a cold oven.

I decided to go with the dosing caps for convenience when I'm away from home. I'm in a non-friendly state and the quick and easy caps work great. S&B did a nice job with the system. A cleaner oven is just a bonus.

I'm still loving my Mighty through water when I'm home. Cool and smooth and easy.

what kind of issues? anything permanent? I have had a couple of iPhones shut down but that’s when I left them in the car. a couple of times it wouldn’t turn on til I got home...

its very very important to me to have medication on the go - I don’t combust anymore...

also, I have zero use for two plenties...
I had shutdowns, issues with electronics/buttons/reactivity, housing going extremely hot, battery lasting way less than expected if a device that’s not intended for, is used during cold weather.
Nothing permanent, but it made me think better not to use it outdoors while freezing cold. Go inside your car or a building if you need to use it.

Thank you, i know I’ve seen phones shut off when left in cars when it’s freezing outside. Opposite is true, maybe more so, leaving a mighty in a car during a hot day. I don’t want to use common sense in winter lol

I really plan to take nice long romantic walks with my mighty and my audio technicas when it’s nice outside.

The bowl and the dosing capsules being aluminium, there are 2 separate pieces of aluminium that touch the airpath area for those using the capsules.
That is why I stopped using them a couple months ago.

I dont think im gonna use the caps anymore . i was filling a bunch one day just by hand and after i was done i noticed the tips of my fingures had greyish color to them . Just from opening and handling them .

I probably contaminated the bud that i was breaking up with my fingers.

Last night i took a cap and was able to write on a peice of papper with it .

I was leery about the mighty because of the plastic . I went ahead and gotbone anyway . I thought surly it must be safe with all the medical certificates and such .
But now after seeing the video were troy from vapzone read the letter from storz and bickel with them even saying the volcano hybrid may cause harm to user from particals . Well i dont know anymore .

Isnt that they way it always goes we think something is safe untill we find outbit isint .

I would actully return my mighty if they would refund me .

It seems to work great but come on plastic and now aluminum dust WTF

it is because they are not transparent about the issues but there seems to be something bothering them too, otherwise they won´t have updated the security guidelines on the Hybrid.

so yeah, trust in this company is damaged for me. Plenty/Mighty sold already anyways and Hybrid will also be sold. i am sure there are people who aren´t bothered by this stuff-i am and i can´t use it anymore with confidence.

won´t buy any vaporizer with plastic/aluminium again, the whole affair made me rethink a lot when it comes to vaporization.

the hybrid has a new style chamber with aluminium (oxide?) rings to add conduction. SB originally created a similar bowl for the plenty.

the difference between the hybrid chamber and the plenty chamber is simple. The hybrid has plastic (peek) feet so the bowl stays secure on the volcano. I don’t have a hybrid, but I can see with normal/heavy usage that plastic would melt.

people claim (and I don’t know enough to argue) that the residue left on the aluminum rings is aluminum dust. there’s is no problem with the aluminum heater. Aluminum is quite safe at the temperatures the volcano reaches.

now aluminum oxide is supposedly harmless. I’d be interested for someone to find out if there is proof of harm. In fact, there is aluminum in antacids.

does this mean I think people are blowing things out of proportion?? nooo!! I lost my appetite yesterday after I saw troys video! I felt nauseous. I have zero interest in huffing whatever residue the plenty or hybrid is leaving behind.

now people claim all storz and bickel products are unsafe. I hear people saying their dosing capsules are leaving grey dust on their qtips from the lid rubbing on capsule. I guess I’ll avoid the dosing capsules??

did I miss anything else on the mighty? It has a ceramic heater and plastic housing. This should be fine.

I love my Classic even more now and my mighty is in the mail! I really feel the classic and mighty are safe.

also, the more you educate yourselves, you’ll see the harms in certain vapes. I read about (arizer) air circulation passing over circuit boards and boundless tera using Teflon in their vapes! Despite Teflon being safe, if you scratch it, you’re in for some problems! This all pisses me off to no end!

@grogazola i have barely touched my mighty since the hybrid mess. I just don’t know who to trust anymore. At this point I’m considering just goof back to joints. Sure there is cons there with combustion but I’ll have peace of mind that I’m not inhaling these random plastics or aluminum. Every vape seems suspect

Honestly everyone here has the right and obligation to decide for themselves what they feel comfortable putting into their bodies. However I encourage you to look into your beliefs and make sure they stand up to even your own standards  If you are horrified by the aluminum situation at hand but you use antiperspirant and you pop a antacid every time you burp then your aversion to S&B might need to be reconsidered :tinfoil: If you are afraid to have glass in your air-path but you live on a beach you need to reconsider your concepts of what is safe and what is not. :science:

I am discerning when it comes to the materials in my vapes, however it is tempered with reality. I live on a lake with beaches and sand, my road is a dirt road. Thus I am not worried about my Elev8r.

I am disgusted by S&B myself... There is no excuse besides greed that they can't use materials on par with a vape like the IQ. The IQ is not a connoisseur vape but it's made with better stuff than the mighty? WT entire F!
Get off my lawn S&B! :myday:

That means choosing documented harm vs possible harm.

Interesting. I find using the capsules provides better extraction. I've compared the ABV from my buddy's Mighty (he only uses the bowl) to my ABV (using only capsules) with the same strains. My ABV is always a bit darker. Each to their own, I suppose.

If a new Mighty does surface, I certainly hope the maximum temperature is raised. I can always get more vapor when I put my Mighty ABV into my Solo II or e-nano.

Happy Holidays, everyone!
Yup noticed that but the question is...do I really get anything useful for that extra effort to make ABV darker? somehow I feel there is nothing or way too little in terms of useable effects. Even tried keeping for next day and am not really convinced there is anything useful....may depend on the strains in question ofcourse.

That's a good point.

I do find the capsules very easy and efficient. They also help to keep the bowl really clean and allow me to micro dose when I don't want a full load.

As far as extracting the last little bit the Mighty leaves behind, I think you are right; probably not worth it. And yes, it will vary from strain to strain. I used to be a bit paranoid about getting every last little bit from my herb. Not so much now. Just want to enjoy the experience.

Just got my mighty this afternoon! cleaned out the cooling unit and now it’s been charging for about three hours. She’s almost ready!

has anyone used the dosing capsule without the lid to any success? I only ask cause someone mentioned aluminum dust from the capsule and lid being rubbed against each other.

if that doesn’t work then I’ll be using the filling aid. Any last tips??

Nice dude grats! Wow that's a long charge. Mine came 1 bar from fully charged (PlanetofVapes) so I just had it plugged in for like 15 mins and it was fully charged. Did they send it depleted?

Hey sorry I snuck an edit in there

I hear the mighty does well with a long first charge. How’s your battery?

Oh my battery is good but I only smoke like 5-6 bowls a day so I rarely get down to 0 and I always plug it in before bed every few days which gives me enough juice for a 2 days. The thing is an absolute beast lol.

then realize that once again the damn thing is off. :)
A good use for the caps, not in the airpath here and keeps the Mighty ticking over,

boundless tera using Teflon in their vapes

True, but unlike S&B, Boundless listen to their customers and took the shockies(Teflon) out of the vape, they also went with a S/S heater due to customers requesting it not be aluminium like so many others, S&B included.
I still like my Mighty and love my Plenty, I just wish S&B would listen to people's concerns(warranted or not) and use more expensive materials that would better reflect their prices.
