And here's a splash guard I'm running this in TC mode on the HΩ wrecker G2 the coil is stainless steel the mesh is stainless steel and oxidized .. coil is 0.41 ohms. ..I got it set at 50 Watts and it's running at 530 degrees Fahrenheit and its amazing! load 1 dab at a time however big or small you want.. and then to clean you put it into Watts Mode n dry fire it ... Also there's a little mesh catcher thing underneath to catch anything that falls down From getting to the deck

That coil is some kind of a stainless steel braided sleeve type of coil it came with the Zeus RTA if any of you ever purchased that one

How is it possible this sort of coil doesn't short?

Although that's not the first time I saw builds I would think would short. I remenber I had to deal with spires to be sure none of them was in contact with each other but since a lot of designs doesn't take care of that I'm thinking I mistaken, i.e the AVS flattened coil!!! Where is my mistake, please?

It depends on the coil material apparently. Kanthal and Nichrome can touch I think, but then you lose TC ability. With SS I'm certain it can't touch. Unless you oxidize it enough so it develops a thick insulating layer maybe.

Exactly I oxidized the stainless steel mesh

And it works in TC just fine I don't know about other mods but this one does no problem it's the Hohm wrecker G2 from ohm tech

So,
Recently stepped up my game once more.

Got a Divine Tribe V4 Quartz Crucible.
I was very happy with my Sai TAF, but, this V4 has a larger quartz cup, much larger.
Surface area is your friend with concentrates.
I wasn't using the quartz up on the Sai TAF because of its small size, was difficult to use and to keep the oil from running over the sides into the heater.

Not so with the V4 !
Very simple effective design, using the 13mm doughnut instead of the 10mm. Worlds of difference.
The V4 also has a 'whirlwind vortex' cap, basically what we e-cig users know as a 'demon cap', which flows the air in a whirling vortex down right into the oil.

Not sure how long these images will last (see this thread), but here's a shot of the cup:

dllhost-9-TMjp-Jt-Lmp.png

Aw yeah.

That's the heater, spacer, and quartz cup.
No waste, no leak, no mess. Clean with q-tip after each dab.

So here's the inside of the cap, the whirlwind action I mentioned :

dllhost-Mchm-Qu4-Txp.png

That's the cap upside-down, looking inside.
Those in-flow tubes go right above the quartz cup.
Then the draw intake is above them, the hole covered by the mouthpiece's anti-splatter method.

I HIGHLY recommend using water filtration for your concentrate experience.
I use a Divine Tribe Hydratube for my Sai TAF (using slip-in 14mm rubber grommet) and my V4 Quartz Crucible (using the V4 Hydrarube adapter).

This V4 is a LAYGO (Load As You Go) device, you hit it once maybe twice then clean it.
This is definitely the best 510 dab experiencfe I've had.

May the Quartz be with you.

Postimage.org as well?

Purchased the V4 on impulse because it's inexpensive and everyone's raving about it. Frustrated initially. It might be the long heat-up time. Do you need to let it heat a few seconds before taking a hit? After getting nothing at recommended settings, eventually cranked up the power and got a decent hit, but it was back to a familiar flattened coil before long. (Way too much power for a ceramic donut, but it didn't crack, give it that.)

Dabbing directly from a ceramic donut in the Jet Stream seems preferable and a perfectly viable LAYG option if you're not into coils.

I love my DT v4 QC! Working amazing in Ni TCR on my DNA device. Yes it does require some preheat (I actually like to gently melt my rosin across the bottom first, then add a SiC bead and cap. Press the button, and wait for it to get to >400, at which point I re-press the button and start taking my hit. I get one to 3 hits this way depending on size of dab. After the 1st hit no preheating required (more than a second or so). The 1st hit probably you are preheating for almost 10 sec? (this is an estimate I haven't timed it as I use the temp value on the device to decide when it's ready)

Using this method it either wipes clean or almost clean (using rosin), but there is little to no waste. If I overcook slightly, then it doesn't quite wipe clean, but 5 drops of distilled water and I'm good to go.

I've also been thinking about a reverse banger setup for use with a hydratube or cooling mouthpiece etc. It actually fits the 710 coils 25mm bangers perfectly ... lets see if @710Coils can hook me up with a bottomless reverse banger :) I think it would be a great on-the-go dab device where it can go from almost a desktop setup (using hydratube and bubble cap and reverse banger) but still usable handheld, to a much more portable setup with the stock cap. Sorta' get the best of both worlds for travelling ... for example ... at a hotel where I have to go downstairs and outside and it's not particularly nice, or for out and about, the stock setup would probably be best (or maybe getting something like the "Nub" stem or a spikey stem for 810 connection for extra cooling), would be best; but if said hotel has a balcony, or there is a decent spot outside and it's nice out, then you might want the more significant setup :)

My one concern with the below setup is potentially a little too much stress on the banger joint ... could probably be solved by just adding a little wood block support (I think wood as it's heat resistant vs something 3D printed in a plastic) ... not that the banger should ever get hot really ... at least not that hot.

Check out my setup a few posts back.
Btw if u keep ur setup apart, except for hitting it, n keep the joints clean u should be fine. Just always hold both

I’m really after something that allows visibility and bubble cap usage.

The GonG connectors that come with the DTv4 allow nice usage with a hydratube and the stock cap ... and that’s pretty nice, but IMHO having visibility and ability to use a directional cap would be much better :)

Thats what the 510MOD is. Its was a DT QQ version 2 but now I use a DT QQ V4. I remove the bucket that comes on the QQ. I use inserts and bottomless bangers I purchased from @710Coils and add my own custom o-rings. I have been meaning to take more pictures and show the setup with the DT QQ v4 as well as show off the kickass logo @Adobewan created for me but I have been too busy. Check out my IG @510MOD and you can see this thing kicks ass.

I sell the bottomless bangers for $40 with 2 sets of o-rings plus shipping. I have a bunch in stock. Soon I will have a website but get at me if you want one! These do have beveled edge for your bubble caps!

Yes ... I was checking your setup out. Almost what I am after and definitely super cool, but for portable usage (such as standing outside a hotel in the winter while travelling) a reverse banger for use with a small hydratube or cooling stem is more what I’m after :)

Your bottomless bangers will have the bevel on the wrong side for me and I believe are a bit tall ...

What side do you want the bevel on? I have the bevel on the top side so you can use a bubble cap. Not sure how else you would make a bubble cap work. The height of the banger is critical and I tried shorter ones and can have them made shorter but this size matches up to give you the same inside banger depth as the bangers that @710Coils provides. Any taller and you will get a suction lift effect when using the larger inserts that I use instead of the quartz dish that comes on the QQ v4. This size is balanced and works very well. The complete height of the banger is 50mm, however the working depth is more like 38mm.

I use this device daily for my portable needs. I drive with it. I stand outside my car and use it often. With myecic.bin software it can be almost completely one handed operation.

Without a wooden sleeve the 510MOD is only 25mm diameter by 2" tall. With the wooden sleeve it is 1-1/2" x 2-1/2". The wooden sleeve is not required for use but it comes in handy as it protects you from burning anything with your hot ass banger while in use or right after when your ready to put it away.

Also, I do have a few shorter bangers maybe no beveled edge if you want to try them. I can donate those to you if you want to pay shipping. They should be 38mm tall bottomless bangers.

Lastly, with the arm of the banger at the lower end of the banger you will waste a lot of material as it will be pulled out of this dish and down to your base since that is where the air flow goes. You really need the arm at the top to keep air flow correct.

I spent a lot of time (1 year+) and money playing with this design and I can assure you this is the best one hitter quitter I have ever used.

Btw, if you just want the arm to turn up on my banger...well there is an adapter or we could talk to Shane about making these bottomless bangers with the arm turned up. Shane can have anything made, however they won't produce it unless you want a minimum quantity. We talked about having more options if interest picks up but for now I have an adapter that can work as a cooling stem or adapter for a hydrotube. Talk with me more @JCat and lets get something working that works for you and perhaps everyone else! Thats what 510MOD is all about.

I'm still extremely happy with it, larger quartz cup than Sai and hits better too.

Also, just received the titanium cup for it, and will release a review of that as well.

All the best !

What is that heatsink your using under the v4? Have you used the device with and without and if so have you noticed any differences? What is your mod reading for ohms when you first turn it on or hook up the v4 (with and without the heatsink)?

Sorry for the onslaught of questions, but I have used a heatsink in the past on the v2 and found it created anomalies in my resistance reading so your pictures and review had me really curious. I do use the v4 significantly different from most that have one. I use mytubo software and preheat a thicker insert for a much longer time. A really effective heatsink that would not change the resistance could possibly allow me to run even longer heating sessions without running into the "device too hot" error.

The copper heat-sink I'm using changes the resistance from .505 to .513 ... not enough of a difference for me to nice any change in performance.

My mod has never shut down due to over-heating using the v4 and at times, with multiple people using it, it's gotten extremely hot.

As far as what the heat-sink 'is', it's fully copper, no longer available where I got it from Fasttech.

OK ....

Upping my game ONCE AGAIN.
The Sai was great.
The v4 Quartz Crucible, awesome.
Now comes the Ti cup for the DT V4.

Take a look.

Click here to see my review of the v4 Ti cup
This is a great addition to the v4.

Less fragile, quicker heat-up time, easier cleaning.

I'm normally a quartz guy, but this has been super.

The flat coils work amazing love it! I wrapped a coil as per normal, dry fired it worked out the hot spots. Then flattened it in a small drill press vice. They hold a good amount of rosin, thanks for the idea.

They work even better with AVS' oct-core wire. Instead of flattening a round coil, you can wrap around something flat to begin with. Easier to wrap and to get firing evenly.

Made a double stacked coil for my TRVP.
My thinking is whatever drips from the first coil gets finished on the second.

(2) wotofo a1 kanthal strips. ( reads .09ohm)
You pick your wattage, though I run mine around 21-33watts depending on what my current frontogenetic Tesla to thc ratio is. Probs go a bit higher if ran with a rig.
*GUYS* .09 is like considered a little scary, so please refer to a battery safety manual (IF YOUR DEVICE WON'T FIRE IT, DON'T ADMIRE IT!!!) or just dont... and say you did... poser!

Aight, so I should have trimmed about one millimeter off each strip, because in doing so the strips would have most likely lined up without overlap, but I ain't mad at it.
Heck, maybe I'll throw an update with the trimmed ones on here.

Erm.. that's about it!
