Glass 101

I need to be sure before I order but don't exactly trust myself yet. Sooo...if I get the 18.8mm bong (joint) at the first link below, then should I get the 18mm Volcano adapter (2nd linK)? Or the 14mm?

Bong....

Volcano Adapter....

If you get the 18mm gong adapter you're all set. If you get the 14mm gong adapter you'll need an 18-14 reducer.

Yup, basically once you see them it's "ahh, so there's a fat one and a skinny one" that's about it :)
I think of 14mm as "pinky sized hole" and 18mm as "thumb sized hole".

Also since it's the Glass 101 thread I'll just state the obvious, 18mm female and 14mm male are both easily turned into 14mm female and 18mm male respectively using just a low-pro 18-14 reducer.

7th Floor sent me some glass diffuser beads. Is this something I should be trying in a FC-187 or D series?
Do people like these? I don't see much mention of their use.

I've ordered my glass pieces from SunshineStore at dhgate.

Are there any other solid sellers I should check out on Dhgate?

Thanks!!

Here is a whole thread about this topic.

First look for StevenLMZ79 at dhgate. But there are some more. Anyone has linked here to a thread on Reddit where is a sample of recommended chinese glass dealers

I am a fan of smoking. So I want to buy a glass pipe and smoking accessories..... So please suggest me which type of product best for me.

This is a vaping forum. We discuss the joys and health benefits etc of using vaporizers and quitting smoking. Hence the forum name Fuck Combustion.

You've come to the wrong place for your question. Might you be interested in quitting combustion?

I am a fan of smoking. So I want to buy a glass pipe and smoking accessories. Earlier I have bought some smoke product from nutrismoke.com. Products were good but I can not find a product which I am looking for. So please suggest me which type of product best for me.

Sorry @Briyan92 I’d love to welcome you here and please do not be offended when I say:

GTFOH with that bullshit, sir. This forums name is FUCK COMBUSTION! As in, WE DONT SMOKE & WE ARE NOT FANS OF SMOKING. No one here can help you or suggest smoke products for you.

Recommend using your favourite search engine to find that which you desire. Now go in :peace:,

Need advice from you glass experts.

How do I clean colored glass without risking the color to fade? My clear glass parts always get an ISO wash, works fine. Hot soap water didn't clean the gunkiest areas. :(

Hey man, good question and the answer is simple, you would clean it exactly as your clear glass. There’s absolutely no risk of fading as the colour is in the glass itself and not on the surface. Unless the colour has been painted on, then a solvent like isopropyl alcohol will dissolve the paint. I have seen baked-on decals fade with time and harsh cleaners, but the only ones that wash off are labels on counterfeit products, which are painted on. Tinted colour glass will never fade over time or due to cleaning but it can be permanently stained and marked by hard water and the minerals it contains.

Myself, whatever the glass, the song remains the same: warm iso rinse, then hot soapy water + rinse, and a final rinse with distilled water. The last step is to prevent hard water spots and stains, I use distilled water in the glass for the same reason. Our tap water is so hard it could ruin glass over time. Depending on the hardness/softness of your water supply or if you even care about such things, that may not be necessary.

I learned all of this through FC and not my own intellect, just passing it on. Good luck!

Damn.............we have really hard well water.
I haven't seen much of a buildup yet using iso daily but they sure don't look new.
Not spots so much as a haze........does distilled eliminate that haze?

Try vinegar or lemon juice :). Maybe others can chime in with their experience with cranberry exctract ,never tried it,but i think it serves similar purpose, although it is used as an additive to the water.
