I already posted in its own thread (http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/v...ktop-and-in-car-use.23211/page-3#post-1075337) but since it is deeply related:

Vapcap induction heater is a good alternative to torches when home!

You are right, @Sketch420 . @Andreaerdna has a neat box prototype, also. I am hoping that someone will be showing a portable version soon. Wink. Wink, @natural farmer. @Pipes?

unbearably light in the being....
(No pix yet, sorry - the weekends are my busy season, and I just don't have the time to sort out pic.hosting RTVFM. I'll get there!)

I've made many major and/or stupid mistakes right up front, but still looking forward to getting to know my new friend: weird, 'cause I'm typically extra-careful...looking for the middle ground in handling the Omni; it's both larger and smaller than I'd imagined, and despite the titanium, it feels delicate. Then again, I have large strong hands & have practiced not breaking things most of my life.

So, having burned thru our first actual evening together, some first-order conclusions & observations:

- these are not for everyone: TOO fiddly for some, no matter HOW impressive
- lighters are as important for these as amplifiers are for electric guitars
- holy case-purchase, ButaneMan! :o
- infinite ways to make these puppies fly? have a sense I'm still steering it toward the runway...
- still no luck mating vong body w/ MP/condenser, some w/ tip
- no luck getting anything out of the semi-mated tip/vong via glass (using adapter in 18mm glass)
- sometimes, there's a "short" click then a "full" click; sometimes there isn't, or any at all
- have not 'combusted' yet but have heated a given bowl 7-8 times & still found 'viable' herb inside

- it really is the best vape experience I've ever had, for all o' that (tho tried a bunch of 'em)

I am sticking to a single CCD and no filter pad for now - basic training has commenced. It's back to 'eggs-over-easy': master the process, 'grease the groove', explore the territory. So far, I've been loading ~0.040g bowls, coarse-ground mix of fresh w/ different leftovers: having made that decision, I'll weigh out a 10th of fresh tonight & see how far that goes for me, both up and along...

I spoke with Mr. Me2 on Monday about the very same technique, but I use a triple.

After the initial hot click I did 4 more 'boosts' before the load was spent and I let the cap cool click.
Concentration is the name of game.

The other thing I've been doing is running low temp. click cycles.
2 jets on the groove, the single jet is running up the end where the clickers are. The click comes fast.

3-4 light and tasty cycles to start with, then I do a full heat to finish the bowl.
I've found the final hit to be thick vapor with nice flavour.[/USER]

Hiya- now worked out how to disassemble it but got another issue- for some reason even though it's 'clicked' I'm not really getting any vapour- nothing like in the Dynavap video anyway- can anyone advise? Don't want to combust my herb lol

If I were you I would try two consecutive heat cycles to get the temp up:
- heat up until the click,
- take one or two draws if you want, but it's not necessary
- wait for cool down click
-once you hear the cool down click, heat again till the click, and enjoy thick vapour.

I find sometimes the first heat cycle doesn't produce much vapour, but by the second (consecutive) heat cycle the tip has gained enough heat to reach good vaping temps.

Another thing to try is to increase the size of your flame on the turbo jet- most lighters are able to adjust the length of the flame, and I have found significant differences in heating with the same lighter but with different flame lengths. Something for everyone to be aware of. If you prefer longer sessions with more hits per bowl, turn your torch flame down.

Peace
...It's like y'all were sitting at the table with me last night

Wow the Dynavap team is on top of things.

I ordered an omnivap this morning at like 7am. Apparently I entered my address wrong on the site as part of it was missing. Just got an email from Arielle at Dynavap asking me to correct my address. I replied immediately and then immediately got an email saying my order shipped. And all this on a Sunday! Impressive.

Anyone else still waiting on delivery from their Black Friday sale? I ordered a Ti Vong, an OG and a dynastash. After reading about lots of people receiving their new vapes on here I had to email a few times to realize the dynastash was the hold up so they shipped the Vong and OG separately. Unfortunately the OG was cracked during shipping and I agreed to wait until delivery of my dynastash but now it's been over 2 months now and still no word.

Just wondering if this is just bad luck or are others experiencing similar problems due to the holiday rush. I really love this vape and I was ready to step up to an Omni but I don't really want to add to the problem.

Any ideas?

I think you need to contact them. Outstanding customer service is a hallmark of @VapCap George's company. They will take care of you.

Hopefully you will have your treasures in hand soon and this bad luck far behind you.

After picking up some pointers from the more experienced VC'ers, this vape is performing better than expected. The Money Mayweather of vapes!

Wash your mouth out son ;). The VapCap has never ducked anyone, unlike PBF. Also the VapCap hits like a Mack truck . Now if you were saying the VapCap is P4P it would be impossible to argue on that account friend :peace: :ninja:

@Kasish I found if I hold the tip in one hand I can pinch and push the O rings to form a pucker with my thumb and forefinger of my other hand.
Once I've got the pucker I put a toothpick under the ring and slide it over the others.
Start with the one furtherest back, near the heat buffering ring, and work it up and roll it over the others, better to roll the ring over another ring rather than a groove.

For removing o-rings, pinching and twisting seems to be the best method by far for me.

Pinch it with your thumb and middle finger then use your index to overlap it over each groove.

Was just wondering how people like their carbon bodies. Can you use ISO on them?

Just be careful not to poke the o-rings.

@phattpiggie has some good advise. I'll start from the back next time :)
thank you so much for this video, such finesse!:brow: I tried using the tweezers but I wind up jamming the o ring over and over so I gave up. I shall rewatch this and make another attempt. Combusted twice and haven't been able to give the tip a deep cleaning bc I was so put off by my failed attempt.

Personally I have never needed to dip anything VC in ISO... All I do is a couple drops of ISO on a q-tip or two, clean the tip and condenser and then let the ISO evaporate for a day, stick the cotton from the q-tips in the Vapcap or Eraser and have my bonus lift! Nothing goes to waste! I should probably also start eating the ABV actually... :p

Finally got my ti woody-s and dynastash ER on Saturday (ordered 1/14). Very happy overall. I was wondering in the back of my mind if, after reading this thread for so long, that my expectations would be too high for what it really was. I'd say they were about 97% on the money. It's a great little device and very fun and convenient.

My main complaint is the mouthpiece. I had thought that it would be finished in the natural beeswax and have a smooth, polished texture and therefore not feel bad on the lips. My piece, however, is really mostly only polished/finished at the base, where your mouth doesn't touch. Toward the end, it's *extremely* dry, rough (unsanded even) and almost cracking. It does not feel good on contact and is irritating on an otherwise excellent device. Seems like I could've gotten a bad one, but I'd advise to go for a titanium mp if at all possible just to avoid the risk.

Other than that, I will say that the spinning action on the mouthpiece is very handy to me. Not in the intended way for heating (the regular length woody is just too short for me to anchor it and spin based on the mouthpiece), but for drawing. It's great b/c the carb hole is always 1/4 of a turn away no matter how I pick it up. So to 'feather' the draw, I just roll it back and forth in my fingers while the mouthpiece stays the same. Carb hole gets covered/uncovered and feathers the draw nicely for the first hit or two to get some nice flavor without looking like I'm playing a flute by tapping up and down on it.

A little warmed up beeswax can be rubbed onto the mouthpiece to take care of that. Or, a higher quality lip balm (like Burt's beeswax/lip balm or better). Just put a small dab or two, and rub it in. Wipe off excess. On my only wooden one, I've had to add a little even though it came with more finish than it looks like yours did. This is the only part that has really worn off in use, though I polish my wood stems/bodies a little bit, too.

What is my problem?
I hate wood against my lips?
Many like wood so please ignore my dislike for wooden mouthpieces?

@lazylathe do you have a VCAP?
It's my next I think?
Waiting for your thoughts?

I want to go back to JOINTS however they taste bad now?

Will a 510 drip tip fit?
