Un-boxed and got to work. Plugged it in and loaded it up with about a "trench" (MFLB slang) worth of ground herbs. I had the dial @ 6 and it took just a few minutes before it was ready to go. First bag was not milky but very tasty! Second bag was more milky but not quite as tasty, still great though. Another bag and I went ahead and put it up and waited for bit for everything to kick in and then felt pretty good... at about a 5 I'd say.

About 2 hours later I decided to hit it up again. HOLY SHIT this thing is loud and the bags are louder. Not at all good for night use when everyone's asleep. While prepping to vape I looked at the herbs and they didn't look spent yet so I figured I could get a few bags out of it. I didn't think of raising the temp past 6 and I think this caused the bags to fill with what looked like very little if any vapor... and so I assumed I was not getting anything out of it (3 bags). I dumped the ABV and loaded about a half gram. I hooked up my first bag and it was very milky :) About 3/4 into vaping that bag I realized that those "empty" looking bags I hit earlier kicked in (was at about an 8 for sure) and I almost could not finish this new bag.... almost ;)

One thing that I immediately did not care for was that the connection seemed very loose (because of rattling) where the chamber sits atop the volcano so I felt had to hold it secure when filling the bag. Also seemed to lose vapor through the valve connection at the start and end of filling a bag. Not sure what's up with that so it may be user error.

tl;dr: I got high as fuck so it worked well. :smug:

TxAg420, glad it got you where you want to be. Yes the bags are a bit noisy, especially when trying to watch tv. I usually load around 0.12 - 0.15 g, vape at 193C (~6.5) on the classic. I do 3-4 bags depending on my mood (my bags hold ~3 hits) and that works for me. As far as the rattle mine sits perfect atop the unit with no noise beside the air pump and bag crinkle. You are the 2nd person I heard has this issue. I wonder if there is an issue with the current batch of solid valves? I would contact whoever you bought it from and see what they say.

I agree with the vapor vs taste that you mentioned. Bag 1 best flavor, bag 2 best vapor cloud.

interesting. I bought a second solid valve set as a backup that I will open up and use this evening to see if it has the same issue. If so, I'll contact the local shop I ordered it through and see what I should do.

what is this magic of which you speak??

I use one of these hose adapters for the SSV:

the 14mm ground glass end plugs into the easy valve end perfectly after I fill a bag. The other end of the hose is placed into downstem.

Can't say for sure, as the easy valve is the only system I have owned.

Kind of wild1willie, it is so simple and easy we have to buy other vapes so we can make it a little more challenging

I smoked a few joints and took a few bong hits in my life but was never into 'smoking'. I was introduced to the volcano 5 years ago and have been vaping almost every day since. The bag system is great for multiple people. We have boxes of extra bags as they get old/gross/holes. The bags are the only downside to the volcano, but they work really well for a lot of people.

We stuff a bowl full of a mix of strains. start the temp around 350F and make 3-4 bags. we can usually do that 2-3 times at 350F. Then we raise it to 360, fill up 3-4 more bags a couple times, then raise it to 375 and get 3-4 more bags. We go through 1-2 bowls a day depending on use. Volcano is the most efficient all day group vaping device. We have 3 of them spread around the house and have tried multiple other vaporizers. Some e-pens are nice, but nothing beats the volcano for all day every day use.

does anyone here own/like the XL easy valve bags as opposed to the original easy valve bags? I've owned the Digit for almost 2 months now and I find myself going through the regular easy valve bags really fast.

    Question about flavor for ya...

I have owned the Digit for nearly two months now and I have experimented with 4 different strains so far and to be honest, they ALL taste the same in the Volcano to me... (the taste is AMAZING and nothing could top it, don't get me wrong) but I'm kind of disappointed about that... I'm talking polar-opposite strains and every one of them has very similar taste.

I feel like I've been duped or something, because a lot of people have said one of the best qualities of the Volcano is the ability to taste the difference in strains....

Have you noticed this too, or are my taste buds just fuckin up?

I go through about one regular easy valve bag every 6-7 months.
    The Volcano gets used daily.
I tried an XL bag once, but it tore 1 month in... (clumsy handling).
The regular easy valve bags were superior for my usage. The XL bags tended to taste stale toward the end... so I never used them again, and stick to regular.
I do use both... Digi/easy valve and Solid Valve

Vitolo, you are the man!! I remember scouting this site before purchasing my Digit and watching your videos on youtube! You definitely played a role in my decision to purchase a Digit and I thank you...
So in your opinion, XLs aren't worth it? My thing is that I run through the regular sized bags so quick... like I barely have enough time to sit down, relax, and enjoy the bag before I find myself up and filling another one. You dont have this problem as well?

Well I always start at 356F ... dunno why it just seems to be the perfect starting point, then I increase the temp as needed. So that would be around 180 in Celsius..

You should see some differences in taste, although I don't know what you are using. The differences can be subtle though.

I even scaled down. I use a bag somewhere between half and 1/3th of the regular size easy valve bags. Thing is, I make shure I don't have to get up to fill me another one;)

Jeff and Vitolo, what's your technique for making your bags smaller? do you tie them off somehow?

On the rare times I am in a big hurry, I use two bags.
I fill one while the other is coming close to being finished.

I do not intentionally make my bags smaller.
I just use the regular bags.
I did use a couple bags when "innovating" with replacing my easy valve bags, that were slightly smaller. Gives fresh hits as they cant just sit...
but I still prefer regular sized bags.
