Since this vape is dead I thought I'd post a DIY alternative.

It is not that hard to slap a bunch of glass together and vape out of it. Some lab glass, a heater, and a dimmer will do it. (Well it did it for me anyways.) If you want to go to level 2 add a pid controller. My design has no wires exposed to the airpath and the parts are dry fitted for cleaning/ez repairs. The airpath is also larger using 24mm glass and 24/40 joints.

I have a list of parts in the diy section if you are looking for ideas for an all glass vape.

    Good luck.

Sir you are speaking my language. I really am not familiar with different heating sources. However, I love when I surprise myself and am able to accomplish diy projects. And my girlfriend will soon be leaving for a year, so this is right up my alley. I will be looking up your thread!

That would be awesome, if we could reverse-engineer this thing to keep the tech alive
Sounds like I need to head to the diy department

It's a basket screen mod, like for ssv/dbv. If your bubbler has a male 18mm male downstem, then you won't need the m/m adapter. The f/f adapter for the versa's 18mm male heating protuberance.

I've been using almost the same setup since I got the unit except I use an ELB Cap. Works great!

Here's another set up I just cobbled together. Works pretty damn well. Narrows the bowls surface area and helps eliminate hot spots. Maybe I'll make a vid later.

    That looks Boss!

Still think the Versa is one of the best looking vapes ever made. Great concept,

Load size doesn't matter much but somehow the unit has a much stronger effect than any of my other vapes with the least amount of hits.

Here it is in action. One big hit. Around 0.05~0.07g. Bam! Just rips all the goodness away from the plant in one big burst. Put it in 'boost' mode by setting it on my leg. 75 v. Enjoy!

So I finally took the plunge and ordered a Handkit L Gourd and Vaportower Bowl for the Versa.

My original came apart but I did like the design for whips and wished it wasn't vertical anyway. I'll take a pic if you guys want but its very solid and I am back in love with my Versa.

Such amazing flavor I feel I didn't see how great it was until now.

    I have two! Haha.

Rumor has it, a similar setup will be coming out in the not too distant future. At least, I'm hoping the rumor is true.

Does anyone know roughly the output of the heater in the versa? Volts X watts?

My Versa heater crumbled and has been out of action for a while.

    Cheers

Mine draws 27 watts while putting out 66 volts, which is my ~preferred setting.
    Good luck, keep us posted:popcorn:

So maybe a 50 or 60w 110V heater would work out.

Replacement hollow style heaters are not so common out there

One thing I noticed while servicing the versa.the original heater is sand or mineral filled.I had a chip on the top of my heater from way back.I tried to grind it flat and sand or mineral leaked out from inside the heater.

the heater may still work,I guess I could try it.I also have some big 12V resistor heaters knocking around I could try or an SSV heater.
