That was my original integrated grinder idea, but i guess the market has to grow more to make that cost efficient... - pictures say more than words
ffcyep.jpg

a little removable top cap to fit it onto vapman and the inner grinder/pusher part is turned/removed with the moutpiece (could even make the pusher a cylindric container around the mouthpiece, so no unused space inside the shell)
but tough to keep it smell proof...
(and a butane torch integrated in the bottom shell - maybe even a kitchen timer clock :D )
have a nice we!
2nd thought: a cnc metal shell with ring magnets would save the mould cost...

Quick question: Has someone tried the Vapman with the magic flight Orbiter? Does it fit well? Im really thinking its time to get my vapman some glass. I am looking for somthing simple, just plug the vapman and thats it, without having to mod a wood piece etc..

thanks!

Yes the midsection natively fits into a 14mm joint, if you like using it through water you can ask René to make you a custom WonG midsectgion as I did. I own an orbiter and I like it, the glass is good, the wooden base and the latch system is nice and clever and the action is pretty smooth for its diminutive size. I prefer other vapes for my glass but I think the Vapmn-Orbiter could be an excellent combo.

I just did a quick google for the vaponic: it appears to be really cheap (35€). How do you like it? Apparently you put the vaponic before mighty and vapman - is it really that good?
The idea is nice, tough it could look like a crack pipe easily :)

cant edit, damn. I wanted to quote

@Phenix yeah vaponic is well underrated, wouldn't recommend it as a first vape tough - guess i like it so much bc it's the most joint like experience (4 draws with one heating cycle) and really low maintenance. Flavour wise it can stand comparison to the best of the best(and even win) but needs experience to achieve perfection - but hey i got a spare one for 22€ with shipping (ebay and amazon are cheapest)
To make it on topic a quick comparison to vapman:
-vaponic is mostly convection (depends on heating technique) as vapman mostly conduction - both very good flavour wise, somehow conduction can't achieve those delicious low temp terps taste for long(nutpicking) but vapman delivers a more sedative punch
-bowl volume is pretty much the same but both can be used with less (vapman works great only filled 1/3 with a concentrate screen as a lid on top)
- heat retention seems better for the vaponic, but i would say vapman is the most efficient butane vape as far as use of the torch flame (bowl form) (I would love to see some measurements of butane use per gram herb of different vapes...)
- outside use and stealth is clearly a win for vapman, especially at cold temps (tested at -15C) my goto vape for ski touring :D
vaponic has it's crack pipe look so it's more for inside, but with the pen casing it's really stealthy to take along. it's almost unusable at temps below 0 c, but there is a plus version with wood casing, or some simple cork diy's at the vaponic thread have to test that next winter
- draw resistance is pretty low on both - hate that on the vapcaps...

Long story short u need both :D they complement each other perfectly

Thanks, but now I HAVE TO have one..
Is there any reason to grab the Vaponic Plus? (meaning.. its 2.5x the price of the OG)

In general: Is your signature-text still up to date?

yeah, vaponic, cano, mighty and vapman being the main rotation vapes that i would replace in a heartbeat, vapcaps are for me more quick hitter (don't do that often) and the flowermate only for festivals bc battery and cheapness
haven't found a battery conduction vape with better flavour than vapman so don't need one ;)
- the vaponic thread needs more posts :D so look here for infos on the plus version

I was waiting on a statement like yours, energy efficiency was one of my main concerns when I created vapman! In my opinion, portable vaporizer should be energy efficient, who wants to heat for a long time and carry loads of batteries or gas when being on the road?

Vapman would win an efficiency contest, I am pretty much sure about this with well backed up reasons!

Energy efficiency depends mainly on the weight and material of the heated mass. The shape and system of the herb chamber is also a factor to be regarded. The heated mass on vapman is 2.2gr.(!) only, that includes the bowl, 3 tubes, 3 brackets and 3 screws. The bowl is made of copper (after silver the best heat conductor) and it's wok shape is the ideal shape for distributing the heat of a flame evenly and efficiently.

Vapman may be a bit more fragile than other vapes, this is the price of high efficiency!

This post may come across a bit cheeky but I know, I am not leaning too far out of the window. The laws of physics are unwavering on this subject and don't depend on opinions and trends.

Talking about heat, we are having a heat wave in Switzerland and Europe at the moment.

I agree with you even without the science behind it, compared to all the other butane vapes I tried the Vapman requires a fraction of heat to properly extract.

That's the only downside I can see about the Vapman after some years of use, otherwise you created the best vape around IMHO.

A cone on three tubes is the most possible reduced construction to hold a herb chamber. A triangle can't be reduced, it is the most basic construction form and extremely stable (bicycle).

The picture of the construction tells the story already, further reduction is simply not possible. Of course, the weight of the components could still be reduced, not the construction, though.

Just recieved my 1 year trophy here on FC! i know i didn't join FC until i was on the hunt for Vapman reviews. so its also my 1 year Vapman anniversary (now to my point)...
i purchased 2 butane cans (2 for price of one) on day 1.... one year later, i'm still using those two original cans to fill my lighters! and believe me, vapman gets much usage!

wow 2.2g - guess that is the sweet spot for this bowl size, reducing mass further would probably decrease the energy storage too much to get a good draw...
the surfache between the clamps and tubes could be smaller with some 'riffles' by theory but that tiny benefit would probably be a bad tradeoff with stability.
it's just good engineering when there is almost nothing to improove from the start :)
how long did it take from the first idea to start of production?

February 2005 I put the very first idea on a piece of paper (shown on this thread), in January 2006 the first small series of vapman(s) was manufactured. To this day, vapman is made exactly the same way as then, with the only exception of the added ss ring for heat protection. Next update is scheduled in March 2074.
