sometimes those wake me up too, since they like to make their nests under roofs. (they enter at the raingutter, so any house where there is room to enter could ber a nestsite, newer better isolated houses are apparently a threat to them since they lose nesting places)and sometimes thety choose the roof of my bedroom. I don't really mind it tough, some other people have the nests removed since they make noise

and another fun fact. inhabitants of the village I live in are also called 'protters', wich is the frisian name for sparrows. (beats sheepheadeaters, I know another village where their nickname is something like that, since the people who lived there used to be mostly very poor , and the sheep's head was the cheapest meat you could get. I have no idea why the nickname of my village is 'protters' tough)

Those are starlings, I believe. I don't think sparrows swarm like that. But yeah, they're pretty amazing.

What's weird about the Amazon Parrots in Arcadia is that they are not native to this area at all. There's all kinds of rumors and myths about how they got here with one of the most popular being that they escaped from a pet store when in it burnt down. What ever the reason, the fact that they multiplied from just a few to a few thousand and thrived here is pretty amazing as well.
