The 'dim' aspect may be because we have had to change light vendors and the new ones are not as bright (we don't have the equipment to make the lights, and the brightness varies a bit from batch to batch). However, your report of the light flickering but the unit otherwise working fine seems to indicate that this issue might bear more looking into on our part. How recent was the purchase? While the kind of light we are required to use does not last forever (it is like most lights in that respect -- hence the policy), it is possible that may be other things going on. Give me a few days to see if I can check into it so I can get back to you.

well i got it nov. 21st. and the light seems to be as bright as my friends box's once in a while, but usually even with fresh batts it will flicker going between bright, dim, and off and sometimes no light at all while still producing vapors but then it will just flick back on and off randomly.

i joke with my friends that my box is the stereotypical stoner, and just too damn lazy to keep that light goin all the time

The brush that comes with the LB is a flux brush for soldering. The bristles will not melt like a paintbrushes will. You can get bigger ones at home depot for like 85 cents.

And what a good morning to be able to order the adapter! I have been refreshing this thread all week. Thanks MF!!

Also, my box's screen started coming apart at the metal rod last week. It is like, where they soldered it is coming undone from the one side. So far it is not a problem, but I assume it will need replaced some day.

with regards to brush....I don't have a brush so I've never used it in my LB...I've used an ear picker to scrape off the coating on the metal wires but my LB works fine without my maintenance....last time I remember cleaning my box was maybe 6-9 months ago (don't remember)...of course I'm sure it depends on your usage and how fine your herb is....but personally, I don't find brushing or cleaning it vital for its usage..which is another reason why I LOVE THIS BOX..with the wand from my previous vaporizer, I had to clean it every 2 weeks or so...i can't say enough about this box

I have a couple different bank accounts, one that I use for internet purchases only. Note that MF will not charge your card until the adapter ships (next week i think it said?) so make sure the $$ is in there to cover it. I keep around $100 in it and add to it if I need to make a purchase. Just covering my ass if my info ever gets stolen they can't get all my loot :)

i had never heard of an ear picker before and i thought it was probably a different word for a Q-tip so i googled it and it looks kinda like the smallest spoon you've ever seen or kinda like a dentist tool. is this what your talking about? or do you mean you used it to scrape the floor under the screen? seems like a dangerous thing to be scraping on the screen with

yes it is a small metal spoon that came with my vapor cannon to stir the bowl...but its an ear picker with a ball at the end :)

and yes i use it only to scape the shoulders since there are chunks sometimes..and I don't use this on the mesh area to scrape...also I use it with the utmost care and actually works quite effectively to remove build up....but I gave away my ear picker with my cannon so I no longer have an ear picker so I've just left it alone and it hasn't effected performance on the LB...this is not to say I won't pick up an ear picker in the near future to clean it again...but its just to say I haven't cleaned my LB in ages :)

She doesnt say she is scraping the screen.

I would not use anything other than the brush on the screen. I believe that she is talking about the tops of the trench on both sides.

edit: thanks Chloe.

I also havent needed to clean my box in a long time. If you use it correctly the material does not stick to the screen. Anything more than brushing or blowing into it after a load is probably overkill in my opinion. Some like that higher temp hwoever and the battery cycle will help clean that.

How does everyone store their charged batteries? i fucked up a set last night by not being smart...

is it safe to keep them in the charger after they are charged??? [unplugged/power off of course]

I store mine in the open in a battery case. I have left them in the charger after charging without issue hwoever.

All of my Maha batteries came in cases so I use those. When I had some loose Eneloops I used the battery caps that came with my LBs and just kept them in the little bag.

If the charger isn't connected, I don't see why you couldn't keep them in it forever--but I am not an expert so don't trust me on this. If it is plugged in, I wouldn't leave them in more than a day or two.

Current (excuse pun) battery line-up: 4 Powerex for daily use, 4 Imedion for travel.

Not necessarily. Check the colour of your load. See:

the adapter is so awesome you basically get a new battery each hit. This is my only beef with the box experience is later hits with a less-than-full batt provide weak vapor. This changes it all!!

Anyone now going to daily drive the Launchbox now that it has constant power?!!

@chloe alright, thanks for clarifying. i dont think i will try this, but i was curious. MF says they have a way to test if anything else had touched the screen. and this got me thinking about how fragile is the screen really. i dont want to take any chances, clearly it is very thin and fragile, but i figured you could probably reasonably touch it with something other then the brush if youre careful.

that got me wondering how they test it, a microscope? some sort of chemical test? any chance you could elaborate MF? i understand if you want to keep it private, but im actually quite interested, i like to know how shit works.

caseball i understand that she said she scrapes the metal wires, but the metal wires and screen are bonded, so while you could scrape the screen without touching the wires, you cant scrape the wires without touching the screen. im assuming scraping only the shoulders would make it alot less likely to puncture the screen, however i think that you could still easily tear it by scraping the wires. i think i may have worded my last post wrong. i guess i should have been more specific. i was saying screen when she said metal wires because i was confused to begin with. technically the screen is metal wires

I've been daily driving since I got the box

I always had 8 batteries to go daily...reason for 8 is because I like using the first 5-8 hits with a fresh battery before swapping with a fresh battery...the power adapter will be just awesome for group settings...thank God for a push button...no more burnt bowls, over heated batteries, weak hits from weak batteries...

Happy Holidays everyone...be safe..its gonna be a good one..thanks MF!

EU orders are accepted? Can I order it with a launchbox (I was planning on getting a backup box)?
We do accept EU orders. Please be aware that it may take some time, since it has to pass customs. At the moment, we have not yet setup a process for ordering anything else. We have been wanting to post links for being able to purchase units made with special woods, etc, but that will also take a little longer to get setup and finalized.

I didn't mean anything special, just a normal LB without the extras (I have the attachments, batteries, charger), it's hard to get a bare box in the EU, and I wouldn't mind the waiting as it will be a for backup.

Thanks, I'll most likely order tomorrow and mention this in the notes. :)

Just ordered the Beta power adapter; merry Xmas to me!

I still plan on using batteries for my typical daily routine, but chilling at night with a LB that you can dial up to '11'? Priceless!

Here is my advice for what it's worth; the things that I find make the most of my MFLB experience.

* Coffee grinder. Fast and easy - I just ordered a dedicated one that was recommended here so I don't have to keep cleaning out my regular coffee grinder. :) The fine grind really makes a difference.

* Powerex 2700 HSD batteries. Huge improvement over the stock batteries. I use the LB daily, so holding a charge for a long time isn't an issue for me.

* Use the rubber battery cap on the negative end of the battery for comfort if you have the push-back ring. I find it uncomfortable on the palm of my hand when I press in the naked battery. Putting the rubber diaper on the back end makes it so I don't even notice the pressure.

* Use the rubber band to hold it closed - always. You'll eventually be sorry if you don't.

* Practice the 'nose breathing' technique. It's especially good when you have a dieing battery or an almost dead trench if you're trying to stretch your load. I use a number of different techniques depending on the situation, and I switch it around all the time. My most used method is switching between nose-breathing and the regular slow-sip; kind of a hybrid micro-hitting technique. I use one method for 2-3 seconds, then switch to the other for 2-3 seconds and repeat until full.

The manual from the charger that shipped with my LB says to NOT leave the batteries in an unplugged charger:

"Do not leave batteries in charger for extended periods of time (more than 2 days) OR when the charger is not plugged in. Unplug the charger when not in use."

I store dead batteries on one side of my charger, and charged ones on the other. If I'm storing LSD batteries for an extended period or travel, I use the little plastic battery cases, or rubber caps to keep them from shorting out.
