Does that torch keep a steady flame when upside down? That seems to be the trouble most of my torches have, being tipped interrupts the flow and they tend to sputter out.
I know what you mean, I love the look of a bunch of jet lighters that click open or dont have a "neck" style nozzle, but they just won't cut it upside down! Right side up or sideways but not upside down, arrrgh!!:bang:
Anyone have one like I described that works for the lotus? The neck style does make it more comfortable, however...

Almost 3 hours and No chatter??? I JUST GOT IT!!! How did it come so soon, ordered on Monday!!! Thanks @Max Jitter First sight was :cool:To:brow: first bowls were :rolleyes: To :o Yahtzee!! Now off to do more testing like it seems like y'all are up too as well!!!:science:

I believe so but not absolutely sure either, have a torch that is slightly smaller than that one and still don't use it with my Lotus. My concern is that even with a 5/8" size flame the cone is too wide/powerful compared to the 4" tall jet torch lighters. EDIT: When drawing I suspect if held close to top plate it could radiate overheat the cap and carbonize the top layer of herb in bowl (uneven abv), and if held away it could still overheat the vapor cap wood. Please let us know what you find if you try it.
Well this torch is a pain, it is too hot and hard to get a good full bowl. I'm going to pick one up somewhere. Just look for single jet butane torch?

@filteredhead you nailed it!

I had one of those downstream once but if you sneeze wrong they break lol

I broke the first one really easy...the replacement is a beast. Ive knocked it around in the sink trying to clean it and even dropped it once off of the coffee table...I think it's 7mm thick at the fittings and 5mm thick the rest of the way. Mine is also the 29.9mm version not an 18. when I had the 18 for my other beaker the 4 legs were just to thin. the one in the picture is almost 2yrs old now.

heres my latest experiment.

I'm in the market for my first vaporizer and I'm wondering I you guys think the lotus is good for me. I only consume at home so stealth is not a concern. Being new to vaporizers I don't want anything crazy complicated and the lotus seems pretty simple. And I don't want anything that requires a lot of maintenance.

I recall seeing folks say that portable ones don't nearly hit as hard or are as convenient as desktop ones, but the comments in this thread make it seem otherwise.

Any advice?

Welcome to the forum mate!

The Lotus might as well be the best choice for you. It's not only pretty simple but ingenious as well! Maintenance is as low as it can get and it hits hard enough for plenty of folks putting aside their Clouds and Subs and SSV's and all kinds of other desktops for it's sake… ;) Flavor-wise it's at connoisseur levels. You really can't go wrong and it will make a better vaporist out of you every fucking day! :p You will grow together and the experience will keep improving, the sky is the limit with this little beauty! Get the al stem as well as the WPA for further experimentation! :)

I just had two destructive bowls, 0,03-,04 each, 6-8 lung busting hits each bowl and I am off to bed, I feel like I'm drunk almost…:p

Go get it boy! :nod:

Your analyze is pretty correct, seems you are already sold on it.
Lotus can really hit hard if you want it. For sure there is a small learning curve but not as big as others portable flame or battery vape.
I'm always amazed at clouds I can get and realizing after ward that it's still pretty green and able to get a few more tasty hits.

But it is correct this vape is pretty simple and "minimalist", lets say, compare to a desktop vape where you have to take care of whip, maintenance of glass and others parts... Here you've got only : one stem (aluminium or glass), vapor cap and a lighter if use dry. If through water replace stem with WPA. Considering this and the results it gives, the price is quite "ok" comparing to other device "value for money".

@Bvapst Well i would say it is a great deal ("quite ok" seems too low to me) of price if you look at the market.

For this price 90-130$, the pool of pretenders of lotus are to mee: mflb, FV, hammer etc.

Lotus is a great deal overall, not quite ok. You have hits and clouds which can be compared to best devices but for the price of the middle of the market!

No heat up time, inhale, enjoy, repeat.

Got my lotus yesterday. Apparently the 2.0 has a mixing pin sticking out of it (for the water kit). Hahah I thought it was a drill-bit or something like a mistake at first, but then I saw the latest video. It's pretty baddass, though it makes it BARELY fit in a DC20. Hits better in my colie, but the dc20 is still bad-ass.

So, thoughts:

First thought was DEF flavor like no other. Reminded me of the old vaporstar days but better, without butane. However, just like the vaporstar I found myself drowning on the size and heat of the hits.

After fitting it to different waterpipes, etc. I am getting the hang of it. Sucking a little faster, smaller hits, learning to get it closer to a cloud level of heat. This is definitely a good tool to have.

Yeah, I bent my stir stick a few degrees so it would clear some of my other pieces. Still functions just fine. Glad you are enjoying yours Snidely. I found that volume and drag of various pieces changed how the lotus performs. It really relies on draw speed. Some of my larger pieces are harder to milk than the smaller, more restricted ones.

Just having a little fun... :D

I noticed right away the D020 needs more resistance with my brand new lotus. I use a 18/14 downstem in mine for my LSV but the lotus won't fit with the pokey stick. So like others I used my 18mm male mouthpiece, (stuck right in other mp) and that easily helped control my draw speed.

Edit - good idea on the bend Jam, I thought about clipping it off since I just use my stir stick or toothpick.

@samirfuzzywuzzy,
how did you remove the steel part and is there a big difference with/without the o-ring?

The wood taste becomes less noticeable with use, longer hits(+25sec) still produce a hint of it though.

Enjoy the Lotus, it is one of a kind. ;)
