Can somebody with an aquavape tell me how you like using it with the EQ? I have a vaporbong setup right now, but I'd like to clear up some space on my coffee table and the aquavape's compact size is just what I need.

I use an AV, both with the whip and the bag, and btw it's ~6" x 1.5".

With the bag I fashioned an extension onto an elbow, i.e., a short piece of tubing on the elbow and attached to it a whip mouthpiece acting as a nipple. I also put a short piece of tubing onto the intake joint/mouthpiece on the bag. This way I can disconnect the bag from the elbow easily and immediately attach it to the AV. By the way, the Q's stock PVC tubing is not very friendly for attaching/removing the whip from the AV nipple; I find that the same size (5/16" ID) medical grade silicone tubing is much easier to work with.

The whip connection is of course straightforward. Few things I've learned: It takes a while to get the hang of sucking the water into the AV; you want the water level to be ~2" deep which gives maximum filtration and cooling, any more than that and you'll draw in water when you hit. This amount of water is abt what you have in, say, an inline tube bong, but considerably less than in a beaker. I chill the AV glass beforehand which helps keep the water cold longer. There are 6 slits, so the filtration action is sort of like a slitted down stem's; if you're in to the gazillion little bubbles action like some fancy inline's and perc's deliver, the AV's not for you.

I use Fan 1 to assist the draw (helps to run it for a minute before hitting; it will fill the tubing with vapor for you). At first it may not seem like you are getting much vapor, but you are - if you initially take little cigar-like puffs you'll see it in your exhale. If you take a long draw you'll see a nice vapor cloud trapped inside the AV. I use the re-breathing technique for maximum absorption so I see little or nothing in the exhale. Then for the last hit, stop the fan if running and remove the elbow; you'll clear the cloud in the AV plus the vapor remaining in the tube (which together can surprisingly be a lot ).

All in all a very nice little glass tool.

Ok I read through this entire thread a few months ago when I first got my EQ and I just tried the search function with no success so I'm reaching out for some advice on where to order replacement bags. I've done the turkey bags and they gum up way too fast and are too big in my opinion so I want the official Arizer bags. I went to the Arizer site through the link provided in Vaporedia and when I went to order there was a security alert that said the certificate for the payment screen didnt match the site's certificate. I have no idea what that means but it was enough to stop my order. Then I went to Rockwise and the shipping was $20 which is more than the bags (michigan resident). Where can I order vags with reasonable shipping costs? Thank you.

While I can't provide a 100% guarantee, I strongly suspect that it's OK to order from the Arizer site. The "certificate doesn't match" warning usually occurs when the web site you are on is different than that specified on the certificate. While this can indicate a "man in the middle" or "site spoofing" attack, usually it just occurs because a single certificate is being used for multiple sites, the url entered doesn't precisely match (but the browser still figures it out), the site is using a proxy server which confuses the matching, etc. As long as the site you're on is for the same entity as you see on the certificate, you're OK.

I don't know what shipping costs are from Canada to the U.S. But fwiw there are several U.S. e-tailers which accept FC coupons (there's a sticky here abt this). So e.g., even though the bag kit at vaporstore is $5 more than at Arizer, with the discount and inexpensive USPS shipping, you may come out ahead.

And, oh, abt those cooking bags. I haven't used any myself, but I've read they come in different sizes (the smaller presumably being cheaper). Try looking for a basting bag.

Tried different sizes, my beef with the turkey bags is that after only a few bags they get real stuck together. The Arizer bags seem to last way longer.

I just order from arizer for extra parts and they usually get here within a week without much extra shipping. For express shipping of an elbow it cost like $10 for shipping.

The only problem I have with the arizer is the glass. I am prone to be a clutz even when not medicated. I have had this q for almost a year now. It has been used in below freezing conditions since I had to use a garage lol. I abuse it daily why I only mention the glass.

Thank you arizer for giving us normal folk a cheaper option that isn't really cheaper at all.

I posted the other day, about bag options, as my last one was getting toooo sticky...went to walmart, and the only options were reynolds large (dont recall exact size) and the reynolds turkey size (19" x 23 1/2" [bigger than the large])

I opted for the turkey ones...they are pretty close to square, and opening was waayy too big to bunch around the tiny mouth piece. so I poked a hole through one side, in the center, near the bottom seem, and put the mouth piece through, using the rubber o rings from the original bags. Then I folded and duck taped the open end, after cutting off a few inches...making the bag wider than long. holds a perfect seal, and is larger than the original...

fill time is approximately 3:40(min/sec) on fan speed three. started it at 185, moved up to 230 at the end. got a nice thick bag that kicked my (and my one buddy here with me's) ass's! pics below of herb used, not sure weighed amount, but a us quarter is beside for reference. the herb is unknown strain, pics posted in the picture thread. also pics of bag during fill, completely empty(showing suction) and the avb from the one bag.

I will probably go with oem or cano bags next time. they sell the rolls of cano bag locally, have to check on price and decide though.

@Purpl3_Haz3 - thanks for that report, i love this stuff!

Question to all:

What do you use grind your herb?

Sorry if it's a very general question but I am asking specifically of users of the EQ, seeing as I am new to the vape and coming from heavy GonG use. The finer the grind the better.

I've mainly been using my small 4 piece space case, but have been looking to get a small 2 piece since I have been using a Wikka shaker box, which I have been very happy with the yield.

Now, I'm thinking of maybe just going with a coffee grinder or the following to avoid the frequent grinds.

I use a small (1.5") sharp stone supplied with the EQ via vapemaster. I find this gets it to a good consistency for the first bag, and requires a finger grind for the remaining couple bags. I like having to remove and handle it between bags, as it let's me visually check how the load is going.

I rarely use my 2pc small space case for anything but the launch box, but some may like that fine grimed right off the bat for the EQ.

As far as coffee grinders, i haven't used one, and *probably* won't, this is just because i like grinding per session, or bowl if it's myself. That being said, if you want to grind a chunk at a time, and save on the grind every time deal, than it may be ideal. I just don't care for the loss of Kief, and large area for the bud to disperse. I know it can be collected, but i like it being in a small space...

For an electric coffee grinder that is way overpriced. Many have gotten theirs for $15.00-$20.00 or less. As for myself I have a 4 pc medium sc, a 4 pc sc scout and a 2 pc medium sc. The 2 pc gets the most use since it delivers very fine grind with sufficient twisting. Also easy to clean after each use with the lb brush. I use the scout for when I must grind on the go. The medium 4 pc is now an expensive paper weight.

@ Purple Haze, thanks for the detailed review and pictures of your turkey bag experience. It looks like I'll just fork out the extra $$ for the Arizer bags.

4pc grinders because I like my kief. I bought a SpaceCase 2pc titanium crusher and gave it to my friend. Bought the Sharp Stone instead. Questionable decision? Maybe, but I don't regret it. I enjoy grinding, so I don't mind having to do it over and over till herby gets to the consistency that I like.

Always have used a 4 piece until last night when I needed to grind an ounce quickly. Used my $15 coffee grinder. Done in under a minute and used a new 2 inch paint brush to clean out the kief. Store it in glass after that. Works great althoughsome sediment goes through the screen as my bud gets browned. probably will double up my screens.

I hate using plastic/acrylic and wooden grinders. I need a nice aluminum grinder if I really want to get the job done right. Sharpstones work prettty well..but I've never tried a SpaceCase yet.

VaporNation,
@medibles, Your post inspired me to get some new elbows ordered. Even though I dont think the glass is deceptively easy to break. I mean, drop a cyclone or an elbow on a concrete floor, and the glass components will break. That should not surprise anybody.

Get a tuff bowl. The silicone jacket does a good job of protecting it and keeping it cool to the touch.

The only time I dropped a tuff bowl it was on ceramic tile, and it broke.

I'm not saying the silicone cover won't protect it sometimes, maybe even most of the time, but the one time I needed the protection, it failed. They're ugly as sin too, and they soon begin to dry out and crack from the heat. Eventually pieces will fall off, some of them inside your unit. I have another tuff bowl but I never use it because of that.

They sure are ugly. They also pick up a lot of dust owing to the nature of the hot silicone as well. I have one that I never use either because it was never appealing.

I feel the same way. One came free when I bought my unit. I thought it'd be great, but it really collects dust quickly and just feels grimy.

Im good for the moment, still have the spare cyclone that came with my EQ. The tuff bowl looks cool from afar, little surprised to hear people don't like it.

I have a Volcano since several years and recently realized I can sell it and get a new vap and have $200 or so left over.

At first I wanted a portable, first the Iolite, then the NO2. Now I'm thinking it may be best to stay with a plug in (I only use it at home anyway) and the Extreme Q seems like a good upgrade from the Volcano.

Is it comparable or better than the Volcano? Does it work well whip style (lung powered)?

Thanks

aab1, I'm brand new to vape, so I wanted something I could relate to. always preferred using a bong and the whip system on the extreme-Q works great for me. So much so that I'll probably never use the bags that came with the system. I'm just as certain that I'll probably never use my bong again either.

Hey all, still loving the EQ and getting the most out of it. Just a few questions to get convo going.

Q: Are you/How are you stirring the bowl during bag fill? I guess i'm finding that with small amount stirring is not even needed.

Q: Will vapor escape a filled bag while still connected to the unit, like out the other end of the unit?

Q: Can you damage the unit by "overfilling" or keeping the fan on after the bag is filled?

Q: How often do you guys replace bags?

Q: How do you vape other herbs like Chamomile? Are they just for fill the room with aroma (aroma bowl) or do you inhale vapor from it (bag fill)?

Are you/How are you stirring the bowl during bag fill?
With this bowl design, stirring should not be needed unless you really have a lot packed in.

Will vapor escape a filled bag while still connected to the unit, like out the other end of the unit?
Nope.

Can you damage the unit by "overfilling" or keeping the fan on after the bag is filled?
With any bag fill model, overfilling will just bust the bag.

How often do you guys replace bags?
After how many bags? would be a better question, since one person may fill one bag a day, while others may fill 6-8 or more per day. It's personal preference as to replacing bags, just like how often you clean a whip wand. As long as a bag doesn't leak, you can easily get 50 fills or so. The longer you use a bag, the stickier it gets.

How do you vape other herbs like Chamomile? Are they just for fill the room with aroma (aroma bowl) or do you inhale vapor from it (bag fill)?
Herbs you can vape. Most have the same general temp range as mj. Essential oils are for diffusing.

@max - thanks for that info, very useful! Yeah, been the same bag on my EQ since I got it well over a month ago. I will definately be busting out my second bag this evening.

I also found these cool designer bags that I will be ordering from Tokeez.
