I have posted a thread about this but so far i have got no help. I searched for 18650 battery length and it seems there is some variability. But i have been waiting for the battery people to answer
Are you getting flat top batteries?
That would be first thing I would check

They are close but not actually the same. The IQ pick is longer to clean the holes at the bottom of your heat bowl and the angle of the hook end it different to be able to remove your Flavor Chamber lid.
Gawsh-Darnit! And here I was thinking I has an nearly unlimited supply!

Love the video! Thought your first video and review was very fair also but glad you did an update. Favorite line, "I sold my Pax2 to buy a Pax3, I bought the IQ instead."
I figured anyone who really watched it wouldn't have thought it was biased against davinci...but if they did their homework the very first few videos I ever made were about the ascent. Hell...I still got a davinci tee-shirt from the ascent release!
Has anyone tried a battery with more than 20amp?
I have some MXJO batteries that I use for my milaana that I also use in the IQ

NCR18650GA 3500mAh 10A Flat Top Battery is what i ordered. The difference in size is very small. I did get the battery in.

I checked the size of the 2 batteries. Iq shipped battery 64.43 mm long while imr battery 65.11 mm long.

This listing seems to say 18650 battery size could be 65.2 mm therefore these batteries follow spec. Iq seems not to be spec compliant.

I would like to see the hardware standard spec for 18650. Got spec?

@Randy Lahey, my IQ arrived today, i had to paid 55 CAD$ of custom taxes. Ship to Canada,Qc .

@Davinci_vaporizer can you tell me why did I had to pay 55 CAD$ of taxes at the delivery of my IQ ? Ship to Canada,Qc

Edit: The batterie you send me whit the IQ is defective, after one session of 10 minute i have low batterie indicator. I tried to charge the batterie by the usb charger of the IQ and by a Netcore Digicharger D2 but twice after 10 min i had batterie low indicator and had to plug the IQ to continue my session.

And shepherds we shall be,for Accuracy & Discovery

Is it just me, or do others look for "data leakage" (unintended information) in the "Reflectoporn" of the IQ bowl?

[*NOT* looking for naked ppl, but rather faces, signs, printing, or other unintended imagery. BTW: Trivial to duplicate keys from a photo. Also, many of you include your fingers in your photos, which include things like the surface of your fingers where your fingerprints live. Jus' sayin.....]

[EDIT: Oh, shit. I just saw this in re-reading my post, and realize I am now to blame for planting the thought of ppl putting their junk in the loading area reflection. I apologize in advance for the 3% of us in the future that will think this a good idea to follow up on.]

Does any one have Issues with a finicky turn-on, with the 5-click iQ.

Not a contacts issue. A timing issue.

I mess it up all the time. I just keep pressing until it is on.

In my opinion turning on and off should be changed to 1 long press because:

  • boost - CHANGE IT TO: 1 click + hold
That is actually incredibly easy to artificially mimic.

The five clicks are intended so we don't "pocket dial" with our IQs. (Look how hard we find to do it, and we are *WAYYYYYY*** more intelligent than our pockets. Or... some of us anyways...)

The 5 clicks does need to happen rather quickly. We have heard the feedback regarding the Power On/Off feature and we will address that in the future with updates.

THANK YOU!
My meathooks keep spamming the button until SUCCESS==YES

They are close but not actually the same. The IQ pick is longer to clean the holes at the bottom of your heat bowl and the angle of the hook end it different to be able to remove your Flavor Chamber lid.

I shall now go hide in shame that I never compared the two to notice this...

After meticulously reading all of the posts in this thread,

I stopped reading right there, just to give your comment a like.

[And the OCD in me ensured the remainder of your post did not go unread.]

:cheers: CHEERS ALL AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY HERE!:cheers:

Dammit now you got me paranoid about me prints :tinfoil::doh:

Anyhow...as I lay here wide awake after the new neighbors rang my doorbell 25 times at 4:30 am , demanding entry...only to discover they were at the wrong house!

Nothing was going to cool me off like the warm body of the IQ (that and it's -27°c outside)

So I loaded it and started to use it in the dark and realized that it makes a nifty little spot light in the dark like a dim flashlight.

So finding things at night gives you another reason to reach for the IQ!

If you said the battery the IQ shipped with fit, then it's likely not out of spec.
I think you got something else weird happening...maybe a issue with the cover tab? But you did say that you measured the batteries and the IQ battery was slightly smaller?

If that's the case maybe you just got a counterfeit battery?

I have used my IQ with 4 different types of 18650's and have had zero issues.
I have used: LG he4, Samsung 25r5 (green), MXJO 30a as well as the original.

Your welcome, i hope i will get a refund. Because 370 CAD$ + 55 CAD$ of taxe its become very expensive.... If we forget this issue and the issue with the batterie, i'm satisfied of the IQ. But I thought that the pearl will work a little bit better, sometime when i finish a session of like 8 minutes at 221 celcius i have a little bit of herb that still green but not much just like 5-6 little leafs, its weird but the rest is brown a well and its very efficiency !

They do make you pay but apparently you can get the money back when you show the receipts to CS.

I speculated the IQ was out of spec because the battery i received was 65.11 mm long (and did not fit) and the only information I have been able to get is the spec for the 18650 battery is 65.2 mm long. I would love to find the actual hardware spec. If anyone has it or knows where it is I would love to see it.

Does the original battery fit in the IQ?

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?369600-18650-Different-Lengths

I found this...looks like some batteries have protection circuits that add to length...also there are some variances between brands.

I learned something new...thanks!

@nigel I'm going to need you to do some editing on YouTube! Lol

The original one fits and is .7 of mm shorter. And like you I found that different brands seem to have some variance. What a pain that is. It kind of forces me to order the batteries from DaVinci unless I can get another battery vendor to measure the battery before they send it to me. I am still wondering what the real spec is for the battery size. It will be interesting if @crazferret imrBatteries have the same issue.

Well we rulled out the button top batteries...does the battery that won't fit have a raised bottom by chance?

There isn't much room for games in the IQ and the batteries I have fit snug.

Can @Davinci_vaporizer please verify this?? Ive never had so much trouble giving a company my money in my whole life. Id like to get this done but dont want to pay customs/brokerage its too much. Please respond with a detailed explanation and procedure for ordering and a response specifically on this customs/brokerage reimbursement. I want to explicitly know that it is a refund and not a credit. Thank you.

For those who have this vaporizer, how long does the battery last? Im looking for a few sessions here and there, not heavy use. Will 1 suffice? How many sessions do you get from one battery charge? thx

Hola FC:

@Davinci_vaporizer or FC members,
is there an authorized local head shops/ vape shops IQ resellers list for each state in the US??
Thanks in advance...

It'd come really handy, probably many people would like to see it in person beforehand...
touch it, feel it, even give it a try on legal states like where I live, etc etc
