@Danksta Ive been using a soldering tool called helping hands for about a year to hold flat coils for my thermals. You can get them at Harbor Freight or Amazon. I even got custom made 50mm flat coil for a haterkeg and used the hands. If you are going in that direction be careful, you have to have enough contact with the glass that heats properly but not too much where the nail pops out of the joint. It can be sometimes be more trouble then it's worth definitely have a couple burns in the carpet. All that experimenting came because I was so Liger I wanted to create an all quartz 50mm banger with sapphire insert. Anyway, my favorite setup right now is either the 30mm Toro slitless (the banger shreds) with an enail coil I made or 54 mm Mayoral flat top disc. Btw for flat top I had liger cap made for the grail better than any bubble or directional I've tried. Kind of like the convection caps and seal is incredible. Next purchase is either 40mm Mayoral or maybe Quartz pi. Anyone tried one? Anyway hope that helps solve your desire for securing a flat coil. The other route I've taken is order some k type hot runner heaters from China and bent them like AugustHaus coils for Liger so you have flat and barrel combined. It can be too much heat.
