Yeah, SSS, the PD was a revelation to me. It does what it is supposesd to do, does it nearly perfectly, and will do so forever.

Was it worth the wait? ;)

Just curious about a few things. Is it best to apply the "butter" that comes with the unit right away when we receive the unit? How often should we apply this "butter" and to what parts of the unit? Does the unit already come "buttered" up.? I guess cherry wood darkens with exposure to sunlight. I think I'll leave mine in the window so it will get really dark.:peace:

smoooth, and to the point, cheers to all, hope for the rest. wife has tender lungs, loves it also. frugal as hell, dry and fine works better, hard on your head to mash the hell out of your best bud, but it is the way. My first PD is now safley at work warm and friendly. Edgar, I thnk they are pre buttered. SSS cheers, thanks for the heads up traffic watch. Most all thnigs great and by hand usuall should be waited on. I am going to re order promptly.

Well, I can say that the Purple Days is one of the vapes I own that I am always stumbling into things about it that I like. I have a variable power supply at work, I hadn't noticed I had it set on a lower voltage than the usual 12. Still got vapor, lighter than usual. Didn't think I would like it running on the low side, But surprisingly, I do. I had bought the power supply so I can run it on 12 to 13.5v. Never thought to run it lower than 12v. I have alway gravitated towards the heavier end of the spectrum of heat.
For a fixed heat vape, I am sure finding it quite easy to adjust the temp to my liking without any permanent harm to the PD.

Awesome I don't know how I missed the release.

Tom just a general question. How long is the dvd?

I am excited. Usually my projects are all crazy and don't end up working out. Having every piece mailed and explained to me is going to rock. I am going to go to the hardware store and try and find some ring pliers.

Welcome to the newest owners and thanks for the comments. :)

We don't pick and choose who the neat-o woods go to. But that two tone is a type that comes up once in a while. Glad to see a pic on the forum.

I think there was a question about the Buzz-Butter :buzz: The units are oiled (paper towel soaked) with the same combination of natural plant oils that we use in our Buzz-Butter, without the Bee's wax. The oils soak in a while then I apply the Buzz-Butter with clean hands and rub it in good, then wipe with clean towels and buff them up. This is the first finish and will soak in, further coats of Buzz-Butter :buzz: by the owner will enhance the finish and keep the wood in good shape. Rub it on when the unit is warm and the stuff spreads better. Put the tin in your pocket for 20 minutes to soften the wax.

Xero: It won't be a DVD like a motion picture, that you plug in and watch, beginning to end.

It will be a Data DVD with text documents (Read Me First, Read Me Second, Instructions etc.) and folders with movies and still pictures. A folder for Heat Exchanger Assembly ( text, pics and vids), a folder for Wiring / Soldering (text, pics and vids) etc. The text documents will be printable and will reference the pics and videos (labeled accordingly) in the folders.

Devo, Pammy uses a Rosewood (very dense) a Pink Ivory (more dense) and a hard figured Maple that is very narrow (for her bad grip) all run a bit cooler (due to the woods used or the diameter) and it's just what she wants. In theory any temp over 365 works, though boil of takes longer at low temps in that range. I have been enjoying her vapes lately myself. Too lazy to bring my shop vape in at night, I use one of her units, same results.

Sorry for misunderstanding, but what you mean "bad grip"?
I believe Pammy has trouble maintaining proper grip with her hand. Arthritis maybe?

whoo hoo, my GF said she would get me a Pandora for my birthday... dunno when she will order it though. But still excited.

Maybe due to both the density and diameter combined?
Nice to know not only can I get the higher temps if I want, but also am starting to enjoy these lower temps as well.

My unit is officially in transit to me; it shipped to my parents house (:uhoh:), and through a series of unpleasant conversations is not on its way to me :D

First impressions and a deeper comparison on how it stands against my other vapes soon...

If you can handle the assembly this should be a no-brainer. The PD. Definitely. ROHS compliant, complex heat-exchanger geometry and pitch-perfect set-temp.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot this: :2c:

Q: Are the new pd's equipped with a purple LED light that tells the user when the unit is ready? Some pic's have a purple light but I noticed in other pic's and I think I read that they did away with the LED to avoid potential breakdowns of that feature. If there's no light is there a way to know if the pd is ready for use besides just timing it?

Just wait roughly 45 minutes or leave it on 24/7 like most of us.

I can personally tell if it's ready for vaping by holding the wood on the outside.

how come the wait time changed on the vape now site WAAAY after 1/1/2010....but it says it was changed 12.9.2009??? It did say 6-8 weeks if my memory serves me right...if not 4-6 weeks, but I am leaning on the latter (6-8 weeks). Anyone agree?? I'm not complaining, I am just asking...if we have to play by the rules.. vapenow should have to as well

12/6/09 is when the wait time on vapenow changed from 9+ to 10+ weeks.

it was changed to 14+ yesterday or the day before and the date of the previous estimate was accidentally left up.

Is it possible to get a pandora kit without the light? I have a MZ( I couldn't do the long wait), and I wish I had ordered it without the light. I'll be gettin a pandora regardless, I just really want one without the light. Thanks!!!!

Think you're in luck! The kit shouldn't have a light as the PD doesn't anymore...I think Tom said somewhere back in this thread that since that was the one component that ever suffered failure, he just dropped it altogether. I don't really miss it...after all if it's warm, it's plugged in (well, at least has been for 30 min)!

Whats good? I am new to site as well as vaporization. After looking into it, I am liking the PD the most and from what people are saying about it... i mean, wow, its as if some one found the holy grail and were letting only a few people see it every 10 weeks.

I just moved back in with my parents so I am stuck with papers which i find quite obnoxious in the first place. Anyways, I am stuck with having to look at Purple Days "porn" until i can find a safe place to ship it to.

I am in love with how incognito the PD is. I have never really gotten into big flashy pipes and bongs. I was always content with a nice metal pipe or a mini acrylic bong. So when I took a look at that beautiful cherry wood piece of heaven, I was smitten.

So, I am going to compare myself to a distant lover, longing to be near his PD. :(

Anyways, Thanks in advance for the warm welcome (haha I am so presumptuous) and happy toking.

I just looked at the website for pandora, and the PPD( I vote for PPD-Pandora Purple Days as the abbreviation)has a hole where the light would go, which is why i ask.

If your talking about the hole in this picture, that's the hole for the power jack. Adding your own LED would be simple enough, but LEDs don't like heat.
