What's the ticket? 'Cashout voucher' sounds good to me- like a small lottery win or something?. But apparently not! Why is it 'ouch'? Seems to be something lost in translation across the oceans perhaps.
You don't get cash out you get a ticket when you cash out, then get cash
You put money in and maybe take more out. That didn't happen this time so I let them keep the penny.

This is off subject, but a reel (yes, I said reel) slot machine was a lot more fun, when there was a handle, and a mechanical buzz, and wheels spinnn- nnn- nning, and actual coins (or tokens) clanking into a noisy tray... Even if it wasn't your tray, that sound of a 'pay off' isn't the same when it's a paper voucher, is it ???

We, Pammy and I, don't gamble very often, seldom, you might say and very small amounts. A $5 Lotto ticket a few times a year. New years or a birthday stoking stuffer, we don't do Vegas these days.

The modern sort of casino machine, IMO, isn't very interesting... IMO... I liked the whirrrr and whim of the older machine, rather than a push-button and chip... and slip of paper saying you win or lose. A cup of coins (or tokens) had a feel to it, you knew by the load if you were up or down... You got three cups full? You doin' good bbbrother... hey lady, bring me a soda, I'm on a roll... (pssst.... always tip good and show respect to your server)...

Just my opinion... about modern gambling houses... and the machines they use. :2c:

Madcap, what's the deal, remove the sponsons and fly like a non amphibious craft? Lighter weight, less drag, better performance? Strange...

I'm not really sure....I snapped the pic when I was on a road trip to Sacramento. It has a pusher prop too. You don't see too many of those. I also got to see then Gov. Schwarzenegger get off his jet and into a black SUV (what else right?). I snapped a pic with my phone but it didn't turn out well.

I missed soooo many pictures in this thread. It is cool seeing what everyone is coming up with.

The cows, the groovy days unit, the convenience store line-up, the army, the reefer leaf(err), and many scenic pics.

The recent picture from Hereatlast had the most PDs I have seen in a single pic (other than ones taken by Tom, of course. ;) ). There were 3 in the pic with the groovy PD, and I know that Iamkrazy2 has 4 units listed in his sig. Lets see someone beat four! :D

Maybe before the end of the contest, I'll take a cool picture to be posted too?

Toke it easy, all.

Placetime, I saw something similar in Brookings, OR. Dolphins, in that instance and they were each painted differently... The football cow? Aren't footballs pigskin? Artistic license ? ;)

^ Toronto has painted mooses (meese? what the hell is plural for moose?). Oh wait, I'm on the internet. Huh, apparently moose is both the singular and the plural. My old summer camp director bought the Toronto Maple Leafs' one at auction and put it in front of our woodworking shop.

Anyways...

Hey Madcap,
Is there still a Gap there? I remember the first time I was there I was a little disappointed to find a Gap on that streetcorner.

Now that I think about it, I think there was, but not sure if it was on the corner or not.

Chant Down Babylon
After owning a pd for about a month now I can say that it is great. Initial reaction was good coming from the mflb only, then I went through a period of not being too fond, not getting great hits, etc.
Let's just say that experience has come and gone.
Whether it is improved technique or the device being broken in, just wow. Huge clouds, powerful stone, great taste for the first pull, the whole enchilada here.
Love it.
I have to be careful, it can floor me, lay me out. Easy to obtain couch lock if wanted, sometimes even when not desired. I need to obtain a lesser grade herb sometime just so I can enjoy puffing on it more as the top shelf can be a bit much with it.

Anyways, thanks Purple Days!!

I just bought a Purple Days and feel like sharing my initial thoughts about it.

First of all I will be perfectly honest and say that I have been a bit unlucky with a few missing items etc. The reason for mentioning it, is first of all because I am convinced, that I am one of the unlucky few, as the overall level of service seems to be top professional.

It also gives me the chance to assure you that Pammy and Tom takes very good care of their customers and is focused on solving problems to an extent that is almost too much. With all the love and care being put into their product I figure that the profit is quite modest. No doubt that they are primarily doing this, because they want to share whats good. There is no doubt that you are in safe hands at Purple Days and I am perfectly sure that every customer ends up being a happy customer.

Now to the review:

Looks:

Due to the few unlucky hickups I have a functioning PD, but have not had the chance to see a finished product as it is supposed to look, but there is no doubt that it will end up being a very nice looking item - especially compared to the monstrosities like some of the other Vaporizers around. It is not bold avantgarde design, but it looks nice, natural and simple and will fit in anywhere. This is an item that I would have NO trouble having standing around in the open - hey.. It is just an aromatherapy kit, right?

Useability:

Well.. I can't hide that it takes some time to warm up. Close to an hour for being the optimum temperature. Being a habitual user on my eighteenth year I admit that the weed is my "reward" after a long hard day at work. It will take some time getting used to, but I knew what I was getting into and if I can't get used to it, I will solve it with a timer :)

Operating the product is extemely simple. I never used another vaporizer, but reading about poking and stirring to get the last harsh whiff from other devices makes me glad that I chose the PD. It is incredibly simple to use and I have never had any trouble with herbs falling out of the tube or anything during any of the 10-12 fills I tried so far.

Effectiveness:

Useabillity is not to be confused with mastering the art of vaping. That stood quickly quite clear to me. From being convinced that the item malfunctioning / not being hot enough etc, I now have no doubt that it DOES work. I am used to slamming bong-heads and have a quite high tolerance, but yesterday was the first day with me PURELY vaping - and yes.. It does the job just fine. It is moderate buzz, but it is also a very modest amount of herb being used. I can see that when you want to get REALLY "kick in the head" blasted away, the PD comes to short. But for an everyday buzz it is perfect, and I am sure that I will get better and better at the art of vaping.

Actually I tried an experiment today: I vaped four loads yesterday and saved the residue. Today I smoked the whole load in one bong-head to see how much buzz there was left. I got a tiny buzz, but nothing more. At least 4/5 of the THC got vaped away yesterday, and over time I will learn to squeeze everything from it by vaping.

Some people have talked about the tubes capacity to be as little as 0.025 gram per fill, but that is not my experience (that was also to good to be true). My experience is that I get around 15 fills per gram of good skunk, still making it quite an effective item with a capacity being around what? 0.07 gram per fill? I'm satisfied.

Closing Comments:

If you are impatient and can't plan 45 minutes ahead, or being a "weekend vaper" who wants to be stoned beyond imagination when vaping, this may not be the vaporizer for you.

If you are a habitual user who wants a steady, moderate and economic buzz, this is an item for you. This item can stand on the shelf, and being able to let go of the feeling that you have a "forbidden cupboard" with stuff that your visitors must not discover will be priceless. If you, like me, also have a non-using girlfriend being very tired of soot, candle vax, tin foil and stinking bongs everywhere, then this is a gift sent from heaven.

The Purple Days is ingenious in it's simplicity. There is no doubt that, when I recieve the few missing items and get it finished up, it will be a treasured belonging for years to come. I will not rule out that I sometime in the future would buy a second vaporizer for when I feel like a "kick in the ball-high", but I am glad that the Purple Days is my first one, and I am quite convinced, that no matter what, it will keep being my favorite one as well.

On top of that add all the care being put into the product and the exellent customer service and the Purple Days and the people behind, has my deepest respect and warmest recommendations.

If you are impatient and can't plan 45 minutes ahead, this is a GREAT vaporizer for you in that it is designed to stay on 24/7 (draws only 8 watts.....about 2 night lights worth) and used in this way, it is instant on. No wait time.

Also, the PD will get you just as buzzed as any other vaporizer out there at a given temp. Because of the bowl size, it may take you a bit longer to get there, but you WILL get you there. With top quality bud, many users, including myself, gets totally blitzed on one stem or less being that one stem provides me with 5 hits.

Also, while you mentioned that 0.025gr per bowl is "too good to be true", this is not the case for me in that my bowl will only hold 0.025gr. A lot of this depends on how finely ground your herb is as well as how deep the screen is seated in the stem.

Pumped to pick one of these up, would you say the Black Walnut runs about in the middle temperature range?

I can say the pd can definatly get me very high...
probably higher as combustion and my VG can get me(VG has other qualities tough that make it the perfect addition to my arsenal, like portability and for hash, and with a group)
also together with a friend we got both really high of my VG, he's a smoker of joints with tobacco, we came from his house and he still had some left in his grinder(just regular average quality, white widdow, one of the most common commercial strains here), just a little under the amount he would use for one joint
I think we filled about 7 stems with that, and were both really high
I guess tough the reason that the pd gets me so high is the temp that is a bit lower then my vg(wich gives a bit darker avb), and so gives me more the headie vapehigh, wich is the reason I started vaping because I feel higher with this effect then with a more stoney effect)

edit:
here's today's pic, where's waldo the pd
