    hey guys,

been vaporizing for years, owned 2 vapir ones, a volcano and a mflb, but just joined the site

i looked around briefly but didnt see this exact question on the forum but,
Im looking for a very specific portable vaporizer, here are all the requirements im hoping to fulfill:

    1. it must be a pen/e-cig style vape, so much so that if anyone sees me hitting it i could just show them that it is "clearly" an e-cigarette. (so no see-through chambers, metal housing etc... and a blue light on the tip would be more convincing)

    2. it must be made for concentrates, being able to vape herb as well would be nice but my problem with the mflb is that is takes to long to achieve a good high even with nice herb, and because of that it is a little sketchy in public places. im more focused on getting the most out of the concentrate vs making sure theres no combustion, even though no burning would be nice.

    3. it must be battery powered, preferably rechargeable. just not a fan of butane...

    4. it must be well made, id rather spend a little more on a nicer vape that i wont have to buy a new chamber for every few months, and a warranty would be great as well.

i know there are a few vapes out there that fit this criteria, ive been looking at the atmosraw and g-pen but im not sure those are my best choices. I would love anyone with personal experience/background knowledge instead of "this one looks good" kind of answers.
Im mainly looking for this device to be able to blaze at the many concerts i go to with very little risk of getting thrown out/vape confiscated.

Thanks in advance for any feedback/responses and i love this forum, you guys are full of valuable information!

Probably the two most notable companies are Delta9 with the Omicron and Persei and Thermo Essence Technologies with the Thermovape line and the new Thermovape Cera.

All use rechargeable batteries, all have compatible parts (with adapters). OG Thermovape are getting harder to find.

King nailed the top 2 pen designers. The Omicron/Persei platforms offer longer use between fill ups with their cartridge design. The Thermovape Dart is a great all around oil device that is more centered around
ease of loading and capable of vaporizing just about any type of extract that one can throw at it. If I had to pick between the 2, the Dart suits my lesser quality home brew extracts. For those that have access to "free-range" (commercial) extracts, the Omicron/Persei feeds very well. The Omicron is smaller and more stealth than the Persei. If you hurry, Thermovape is still selling the remainder of their Dart stock as well as an awesome driver/battery in the form of the Ultra. Best of luck w/ your choices....
None of the above mentioned devices have the addition of a glowing light at the end, however.

I ahve some experience with the DART, but prefer my cheap kanger carts over it. the kanger carts can hold up to about one g of concentrate and gives me way bigger hits then the DART(if that is your preference too of course). one downside to the kanger cartomizers is they need to be heated up from time to time to let the oil drop down onto the heating element. i have been using them for over a month now, and have had no leaks, clogging or any of those issues. And it does look exactly like an e-cig, because that is what it is:p

I have no experience with omnicron, and have read many good things about them so they might be worth a check out too. However they do seem to need more or less 'more refined'extracts to work the best...So depending on what you have for options of concentrates one cart might be better then the other.

The kanger seems to have a bit more trouble with shatter then it has with budder...:2c:

    Thanks guys!

i really like the dart feature with thermovape, but its a little pricey to include that with a full $109 ultralite. also the metal housing makes it look not as much like a e-cig...

does anyone know which other battery/drivers work with the thermovape dart?
i think i read the atmosraw is compatible but i want to be sure before i commit to anything...?

also as much as i like the dart tool, is the compartment really limited on the dart? Im wondering because i would love to only have to fill it once then have it last thru a 2-3 hour show without having to refill it.

3.7 V batteries should drive the DART.

Yes to both questions any 3.7v ecig battery will work, IMO I would go with a variable voltage one like the ego-c. Ecig atomizers are engineered to atomize thin ejuice not thick concentrates.

    huh?
Just wanted to say ive used the dart at a lot of concerts and always just told people it was an e-cig. When I take it apart and show them made in Usa, they've always let me in with it and had no problem when I was there. Not saying it will always work, just been my experience.

again i appreciate the feedback and i believe i have made my decision...

Im going to get the thermovape dart 3.7 and pair it with an ego-c twist, for a total of $65.
has anyone tried this exact combo before?

also as of right now i cant add the dart to my shopping cart on the thermovape website, does anyone else have this issue? maybe they r sold out...?

either way does anyone know another website that would carry the thermovape dart?

Hope this works, will be my first vid...

pps you can hear a friend of mine saying ohahh when she sees how much vape is getting in my bong hehe

Which battery are you driving the DART with?
Is that pure concentrate or PG/VG blend? Out of a matter of interest, which Kanger cart are you using? I have a bunch for e-cig use laying around.

I was just able to add to my cart. Check your shopping cart to see if it's there. You might need to clear it of everything before you can add a DART (I know I need to).
If TV runs out of built you could always just buy a DART head and buy an AVA atty - I think VapeHead has them in stock.

It's nothing but concentrate. They are the ones with horizontal wicks. They do need some heating from time to time to make the budder drop down some more, but other then that, as you can see, they work great.

They still have the silica wicking though, right? Short at the bottom of the cart?

    edit: these?

yup, those are the ones. Just remove the filling and top it up with concentrate. And i always did a dry burn just to look for ghost vapor, but never withnessed any....

just make sure you don't plug the inner tube, that's needed for the air intake

Cool I'll try them. Are you filling them with a set amount, or dripping/using DART style?

One big selling point for TV and DARTS (for me anyways) is the care that was put into material choices.

Well I can follow you on the taking care of material part...but the kanger for me have worked a lot better then those other options, but thats my personal opinion.

No idea what the kangers are made of to be honest.

Not using a set amount, anywhere in between .1 and .5 will be okay. I loaded almost 1full g in it at a certain point, didn't seem to hurt it :science:

There was a great video (which I now cannot find) of one of the TV team breaking down a common Chinese cart and an Omi cart, and there's a suprising amount of stuff in the airway of these things that we probably don't want in our lungs (fiberglass, solder, plastic casing on wires). Now I've been using e-cig stuff long enough now that it's too late for me anyways  and I'm not really seriously concerned for my health, but it says a lot about the TV products.

Cool that you can pre-load .5. Do they leak at all?

onl had one cart leaking once after it ran low...one would think it wuld happen when they are fully loaded, but apperently they do it when nearly empty. Leaking in the sense that just the tiniest bit of oil leaked from the buttm, which was soon resolved by whiping it off when warm, and the cart is to this day still running fine.

I'll give it a shot once I get/make some more concentrates. They'll definitely be easier to fill than Omi carts, so you could just pre-fill a bunch and go.

well i tried again from multiple computers, with an empty cart, and it still didnt work. called into thermovape and they told me they just ran out of stock...:\. if you have a way to possibly still purchase the dart from them id be willing to send extra money via paypal/whatever to get it from you.

and in terms of the ava atty, will the thermovape standard or low resistance ava side feeder work with the dart head? and is it easy to use?

and thanks for the feedback on the kanger carts, but i am still a little sketchy about the wick, materials and cheap chinese build, is that cart still achieve good results with thick homemade butter/wax because thats all i have access to at the moment.

    thanks again
