I have had the chance to use my PAX twice since acquiring it 2 weeks ago, & was ridiculously careful each time. As if I was diffusing a bomb, being extremely gentle & so nervous that it would explode(aka break). Followed everyone's advice, etc.

The Bomb exploded; my slightly used PAX is broken. I didn't join my family today for thanksgiving; too stressed & depressed after last night(the pax is the straw that broke the camel's back).
The mouthpiece will NOT pop/come out, leaving the PAX worthless. Yes, I've tried heating the device, hot enough to burn my hands. It's not due to a buildup of residue or anything of that manner, for I have hardly used it(mainly due to the fear of it breaking:mad: ). I tried every way I could think of to FORCE it out, but it won't budge & is hard to grip/pry when recessed. Sorry for the bad vibes, but this is absolutely ridiculous. What can I do or should I do .. as of now I seriously hate this device. I can't even break it open...:goon:

I found a way to turn it on with the mouthpiece recessed. Using a strong magnet(the same type that is embedded in the mouthpiece), one can turn the unit on without popping out the mouthpiece. This may be a handy trick for someone that is having problems with the 'sensor' yet still wants to use their PAX(it seems to not be as sensitive when used in this manner, for the mouthpiece is retracted into the device). You have to keep the magnet in a certain area, but once attached..its basically an ON switch. I'm not sure if anyone else has stumbled upon this method of using the PAX? It's not optimum, but thought I'd share my discovery. :peace: Any help or uplifting comments?

Unrelated in the sense that it's not the same unit we're all using, but I made a quick stop by the collective (opened today!!) and grabbed a bit of hash and oil to enjoy for tonight. Hit the hash soon as I got back... got me really good. Now I lagged it and I can't do the oil hit I want because I'll end up too stoned for dinner in a few hours (the boss lady doesn't want me being obviously baked in front of the younger ones.)

That sucks, man. This should be an uplifting comment for you, though: 10-year warranty. I would be contacting Ploom if I were you.

Interesting about the magnet. Where exactly do you place it on your Pax?

Just picked up a Pax at the door-buster sale at our local shop. For $150 the Pax sounded too good to pass up. It's currently charging for a pre-zonk sesh.

That's the first good deal I have seen anyone get a Pax for so far... I think that price fits much better IMO. Hope you got a good one!

I've had my Pax for a while and my impression is mostly good, but I had an unpleasant experience with Pax today, due to it failing to close. I spent thanksgiving with my family and took my Pax along, nicely packed with some Cloud 9 that I had grinded up in my coffee grinder. My family knows I get high but I generally don't do it in front of them.

At one point while people were socializing, I ducked over to a secluded spot and fired up my Pax on medium, took a nice toke and put it back in my pocket while I walked back to where people were. unfortunately the mouthpice refused to stay down. I could not get it to turn off, so it just sat there smoldering in my pocket while I tried to be casual about it and I could not get myself away this time. It started to smell too, and a couple of people mentioned that they smelled weed. I was smoldering myself, fumbling around with the Pax in my pocket and thinking of the scathing report I was going to write when I got home. Finally it occurred to me to just remove the mouthpiece, which I managed to do with one hand in my pocket after some more fumbling. For a minute I felt like throwing that Pax against a wall and stomping on it. The ordeal was embarassing for me, and I wasted some good weed. I'm glad it was only that. Now I have calmed down a bit but man let me tell you, that was a very annoying and inconvenient situation. I hope nobody ends up getting in trouble due to their smoldering Pax that won't turn off.

    Did you say Zonk? :D

I've been playing Zonk for a long, long time. I've been trying to think of a way to play using a vaporizer, but I think its impossible.

That totally explains why my Pax would turn on after i put it in my iolite case. Which happens to have a magnetic closure for the pouch thats inside.

Burned up two full ovens on me and i couldn't figure out how this happened.

    Now i know, great tip.

hey guys, brand new to this site, and i would like to thank everybody for all the help. i thought i was the only one with a finickey pax. ive had it a few months and have been dealing with the temp light issues and sticky mouthpiece. today it started the blue light flashing and then shutdown. i also noticed some cracking inside the unit by the temp switch. it looks like the battery got hot and wanted to push through the plastic. i removed the spring and cleaned everything spic and span but the blue light problem still exists. any suggestions???? i have sent a ticket to ploom, waiting for a reply.

The blue light is not fixable. I had the blue light problem and the only thing that would fix it for each session was repeated clicking in and out of the mouthpiece. I sent mine into Ploom for a replacement.

I would try going to their chat feature on Monday, and get direct contact about that, instead of waiting for a response. It is good to have documented emails as well, unless you copy/paste or screen capture the chat, it won't be saved. They should be able to fix you up, the hours are 9am -5pm PST Mon-Fri (they took off today due to holiday according to their Facebook page).

Tryed to clean my pax before sending it in tomorrow and managed to get the cotton from the cotton swab lodged in the mouthpiece area. Any ideas how to dislodge it?

Alright after just a couple weeks already having problems with my pax and its kinda freakin me out. So last night after a solid 5 person sesh i left it in my car no problem. But then when i went back to do round 2 for the night i turned it on and the blue light appeared? I kno you all have talked about it but i cant seem to find it specifically in the thread. anyhow after the blue light appeared quickly after it turned back to purple and began heating i shook it and the battery showed red which didnt make any sense because i had completely charged it that night and had only used it for one five minute sesh and then turned it off again. I got one decent session with the battery on red but to say the least am concerned about the functionality of my pax and i neeeeed to hav it for tonight. anyone had these same problems?

LMAO. At least you still got your screen though, even if you had to get messy.

I had 2 problems with the screen so far. One was emptying me oven outside the office, the screen popped out and I was playing wheres waldo for 10 minutes looking on the concrete for it. (Found it)

The other time was waiting for a taxi outside I emptied me oven and the screen fell on the pavement in the DARK!. I had to pull out my phones camera flash and stare at the floor for 5 minutes (Also found it)

I still didnt receive my replacement screens, I believe a follow up call will be happening shortly for my screens.

The little magnet we use to hold our Pax Tools onto the underside of the mouthpiece is what turns the Pax on when it is brought away from the sensor by clicking the mouthpiece up (less magnetic field)

The sensor is about a centimeter above the Pax light, on the front side. You'll notice that you might have to turn and rotate the magnet to see the light turn on, this is because you have to "cancel out" the mouthpieces magnetic field and so only the opposite polarity will work.

Wow that doesn't sound like fun... I rarely clean my Pax and I get a tiny bit of gunk build up on the ends of the screen, doesn't seen to affect performance but I've never had the screen pop out. I think it's actually made me a bit cocky, sometimes I empty the bowl by tapping the Pax out over the toilet... but I really wouldn't want to have to go in after it...
