Natures Orange. Way better than ISO!

I was told about this solution for cleaning glass, as an alternative to 91% ISO. And I must say it is much better and I believe cheaper. Its called Natures Orange Cleaner/Degreaser, I got it at Osh but I bet Home Depot or any hardware store should have it. Mine was 9.99$ for 3 litres but i bet it would be cheaper at bigger hardware stores.

It simply cleans vapor gunked up glass and even smoked glass much faster than ISO. I used to have to soak things it cleans just with shaking, not to mention it doesnt burn the hands and smells like Oranges to cover gross smells from cleaning. Its biodegradable and just seems the better alternative to ISO right now. I would recommend buying a jug, it will last many cleans and encourage you to clean your pieces more!

If you have old overripe lemons just cut them to pieces and put in the microwave with some water.. This stuff makes glass and metal shine..

Sounds like a good solution for my PD stems, which seem to retain at least a little gunk even after soaking for several days in a row and cleaning with a Sonicare toothbrush.

you guys don't reclaim your iso once it's good and filthy?

if i wasn't interested in the reclaim then I would switch too!

I clean my glass after every use.. In most cases it would be when I have finished my entire session, 2 MFLB Trenches and 2+ VG bowls. Unless I'm not in an area where I can't clean it, but I normally am.

That orange stuff will actually eat up your hands after a while too, but it is still much more mild than ISO. I agree that it cleans like magic.

If you're reclaiming, ISO is going to be much better.

this is perfect for me! i'd rather go natural for cleaning than ISO. i only reclaim after a wash if it's with my grinder. resin in my bong does not seem appealing to me and there is not enough of it to make it worthwhile since i like to have my glass piece as clean as possible at all times

Great Scott!
Is it ALL natural shit? If so I'm switching. I'm too lazy to reclaim 99.99999% of the time anyway.

It says it contains a natural organic solvent made from orange and citrus peels, which is then combined with a positive emulsion cleaner. Biodegradable, no harmful solvents, no phosphates. I don't know if that covers all the bad things that could still be in it, but it sure seems better than ISO to me!

I'm one of those people that use ISO so I can reclaim later, but I might start using the orange stuff after I've cleaned with ISO to remove the ISO/reclaim smell from my glass.

Good tip. Thanks!

The orange oil is d-limonene, which is a terpene found in cannabis as well. Gratefulbuys has a great price on it here: http://gratefulbuys.com/product_info.php?products_id=421

It has many uses, one is as a transport solvent in say a Tamisium BHO extractor for instance, and it can be completely evaporated away at a later time. The product you guys are looking at has a surfactant added to it (I suspect). This enables the non-polar solvent to remove both polar and non-polar items. I would not use this for anything that will be consumed later. Simple Green is an entirely different animal and has according to Wkipedia: "faces critical attention from environmental safety activists[2][3] because of the toxicity concerns of 2-butoxyethanol (EGBE), which is in the formula at under 4%"

Edit: These are the guys that make it and a nice article explaining how: http://www.floridachemical.com/whatisd-limonene.htm

"By combining d-Limonene with a surfactant package, a water diluting and rinsible solution can be made. In most cases these products are used in the institutional and household settings in place of caustic and other water based cleaners"

Your saying if it does have the surfactant added to it we should not be using it? What is we rinse and soap the glass after?

No, dont use the one with the surfactant if you are going to evaporate and then consume (ie vape) the remains. For straight cleaning with no reclaim you are fine. I was looking at the THC Gold recipe from TetraLabs and they actually ADD d-Limonene to their product to enhance it. Interesting.

If only we knew the formula of Grunge Off.......I wonder if we'd find d-Limonene. It certainly has that chemical citrus smell.

I think it comes from the oil extracted from citrus rind. Too bad Wikipedia is on strike today!

A product called Orange TKO is probably the best thing you can use if you're looking for an orange cleaner that is natural and non-toxic. Good for a lot of other things besides cleaning vaporizer parts too!
