I'm neither a psychonaut nor someone who you would consider "into music". However, the topic has recently come up when talking to a friend, and I immediately thought this would be a good venue to seek advise. So let me ask you this... if you were going away on a trip, what would your ideal playlist be and why?

A real suggestion, for when it's time to do some tough soul-searching through stormy weather:

    The title alone is great.

    Another good one:

sphongle, mars volta, or tool is what I usually listen when I trip! Listening to sphongle on about 3 grams of mushies while riding my bike at night is about as good as it gets!

Change it up from like pink Floyd and hendrix, to reggae, to Nicholas jar, to deep forest. damn, I should know a lot more than this, but my mind is going blank. Make sure to mix it up though.

Whether you're going on a trip, or cooking up some ricin, this song should do fine.

I'll tell Lucy to put these on the playlist for sure. I just hope she's in the mood for Cybernitica though. Psy-trance/DnB can get pretty intense.

I also downloaded BOC: Music Has the Right to Children.

Now I need something with a sitar...

That's an understatement! Went to a psytrance festival once, 76hrs straight of full-on psytrance & camping near the main stage. Not to mention a serious trip in the middle of it..

I always listen to Rebulition during a trip. Good vibes & peace of mind help a lot with going with the flow and not fighting the head trip. Classic Rock is always a winner for me too.

In general though, your favorite music sober translates to the best sounding music on a trip. :2c:

    edit:
Anoushka is just wonderful. Ravi Shankar's daughter.

It's not my first rodeo, just the first one in a long while. Although I do find your advice about "the music you like". I may need to reevaluate what I'm looking to get in return here and select the soundtrack accordingly versus trying to find something "I think i might like".

Hell, maybe I'll actually put some thought into it.
