Headtrip playlist

I'm neither a psychonaut nor someone who you would consider "into music". However, the topic has recently come up when talking to a friend, and I immediately thought this would be a good venue to seek advise. So let me ask you this... if you were going away on a trip, what would your ideal playlist be and why?

I would probably bring two copies of Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music."

A double album of noise, feedback and WTF?

What more could you need?

(Yeah... I'm kind of a music guy.) :ko:

I would also check out THIS thread!

A real suggestion, for when it's time to do some tough soul-searching through stormy weather:

The title alone is great.

Another good one:

I'll tell Lucy to put these on the playlist for sure. I just hope she's in the mood for Cybernitica though. Psy-trance/DnB can get pretty intense.

I also downloaded BOC: Music Has the Right to Children.

Now I need something with a sitar...

That's an understatement! Went to a psytrance festival once, 76hrs straight of full-on psytrance & camping near the main stage. Not to mention a serious trip in the middle of it..

I always listen to Rebulition during a trip. Good vibes & peace of mind help a lot with going with the flow and not fighting the head trip. Classic Rock is always a winner for me too.

In general though, your favorite music sober translates to the best sounding music on a trip. :2c:

Anoushka is just wonderful. Ravi Shankar's daughter.

It's not my first rodeo, just the first one in a long while. Although I do find your advice about "the music you like". I may need to reevaluate what I'm looking to get in return here and select the soundtrack accordingly versus trying to find something "I think i might like".

Hell, maybe I'll actually put some thought into it.
