While I think I agree with what you were trying to convey, what you wrote sounds much more like the differences between regulated and unregulated vapes.

This is a regulated vape, you don't control anything besides your draw speed (unless you're manipulating it outside its intended use by multi-pressing the power button and such) and as long as you're staying within its power abilities your draw speeds control how much and dense the vapor is, not if it's present.

There are still a few inconsistencies with this unit that hold it back from being everything it can be. I'm sure they'll keep tweaking and getting closer.

In the meantime, I agree that there are units not performing that should be sent in, mine included! This can be a very finicky vape and everything needs to be just so to get any results much less good ones.

I know last night I vaped a bowl that was 3 days old. I pumped up temperature to 420. First hit was a bit wispy. The next 4 hits were nice clouds. Used an even draw. The entire time I didn’t feel any vapor in my mouth. Was so smooth but the exhales were huge. It did not feel the way it does in a fresh bowl at a lower temp. I feel the vapor much more dense. But remember this was the last 4-6 hits to kill the bowl.

Hows the throat and lung irritation? I love how smooth my FF2 is and wondering if a FW5 or Haze² will be as smooth.

No irritation at all. Super smooth.

Previous post I made said that at 420 finishing off a bowl I didn’t even feel the vapor in my mouth but was exhaling a nice size cloud.

I would like someone who has both to compare FF2 and Square Pro. I tried a FF2 some time ago and have a square now and as I recall they are extremely similar in flavour and performance if you inhale slowly.

Today I received a spare parts package from Haze. 7 days from Usa to Spain thats a record!!

Here is a video that was just posted. Shows the battery replacement really well. It also shows how to clean the unit very nicely and shows the guy putting everything back without the loading tool. I have been watching his videos and he really loves his unit. He recommends deep clean weekly. I use to believe in that, I’m on my third tray and haven’t deep cleaned yet. I wipe screens every time. But not deep clean. Between my screens I don’t even have that much reclaim after 2 trays.

As I am now the proud owner of a H sq that wouldnt/ couldnt produce any vapor, that was sent to Haze under an RMA. Whereupon Alex at Haze sent me a video that makes me look foolish. he opens my HS and promptly makes clouds . without difficulty.

The question is what is the "trick" ? assuming my piece is in good working condition

we had a facetime session prior to my sending it out.

here are the issues that people have discussed
    1. herb not good enough: it makes plenty of vapor on the plenty. at present i have several varietals available. i can try loading 4 strains on 4 pods.

    2. fine. ground fine using a 2 piece space case.
    3. pack. was pretty firm, but perhaps i can pack it firmer when i get it back.

    4. technique: here is where some guidance would be useful from Fc memebers

    i currently own a pax 2 and a plenty.
pAX - draw resistance is significantly - i get great vapor, thick and flavorful

plenty. almost no draw resistance. you can alyter vapor quality by altering draw technique.
very fast draw - cools heater and herb ?- minimal cloud
medium draw - thin but big clouds
    slow draw- thicker clouds

on the plenty in no situation do the clouds approach the density of pax2

so on the HS where i perceive almost no draw resistance- what is the best technique ?

The best technique that has been discussed several times is a slow and hard draw for the full 10 seconds. I think everyone agrees on that technique. You pull too quick and you cool down your bud not warm it up. You must get the bud warm before you see vapor. And that can take 1-2 hits to bring it to temp off a cold bowl.

@Mrb58 - I like to imagine what the herbs are going through and adjust my technique from there.

In this case, you have a big bowl of herbs that needs to absorb some heat before getting up to temp to produce vapor. So I start my draws slowly. Sometimes I'll draw puffs into the bowl to let the heat sit for a second. (It's not this complicated...just something that's fun for me.) Once the herbs are up to temp, I can increase my draw speed to thicken up the vapor. So, most of my draws look like a quick puff or two and a slow pull for a couple seconds. Once I feel the heat building I'll increase the draw speed for thick hits. (Don't forget to keep the button pressed for your entire draw.) The Square is the only portable I have that can make me quit drawing before the timeout - not all the time, but a lot on the first few pulls off a fresh bowl.

The Pax is the opposite. The heat builds up and vapor forms until you start your draw, at which point incoming air cools the system down and weakens the vapor. So you get thick hits if they are short puffs or really slow draws, but wispy hits if you huff on it. If you experience the Pax hitting harder than the Square or Plenty, my guess is you're pulling pretty slowly on them. Those convection vapes were meant to be huffed on!

Totally agree. First hits I tap out on cannot get full 10 second draw, that vapor does get thick. Puffing technique is also smart on first few hits to get the bowl up to temp. My first hits I never do the puff cause I want the full flavour. When you start to really feel the vapor in your mouth is when you can really pull on it. You’ll know. Just things to try and pay your attention to.

Well I'm not enjoying mine I would still like an answer from haze about what they are going to do about the flaking anodizeation around the air path. I'm not using my unit untill they address this issue. Maybe others are the same. But good for you enjoying yours. I'm using my dabudda and a big bag of strawberry haze for a red dead redemption 2 weekend.

What are the temps that everyone is vaping at on the square? I just got mine back and can't remember the temps I had on this thing. Currently starting a bowl out on 360 and its lovely. I heard this thing runs a little higher on temp compared to other vapes. Thinking like 360-420F range but lmk what you guys think.

I spent some time with my square coil today today. Torch, pliers, patience and more patience. I manage to get my coil back to near perfection. Loaded some bowls and had a great session. First time used since July. Can’t wait for the micro dose pods.
