Vaping is so much easier to hide the smell. :p

Did you blow the vape another way or is the smoke buddy really making no vape exhaled in the air? I don't suspect it can be that good. I do like to be wrong on issues such as this though.:)

No visible vapor comes out of it at all. I have never tried it with smoke though. It is a very nifty little tool. http://www.amazon.com/Smoke-Buddy-Personal-Filter-Purifier/dp/B00478ONEU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1350448496&sr=8-3&keywords=smoke buddy - super cheap

edit: also they need to make a smaller one that looks a like a small red bull can. Super Stealth!

Indeed very little to no visible vapor or smoke comes out of the Smoke Buddy.
Much less expensive sure, but also much less effective. I used home made sploofs for many years, and none came close to the Smoke Buddy in terms of odor and vapor/smoke elimination.

PlanetVape also sells one called the Hide-A-Hoot. There will be visible vapor on exhale, but it's nearly scentless. It's smaller, and the mouthpiece is a more sensible size than the Smoke Buddy.

Oh, thanks for the video mac, I've been dying to see how the Solo performs on this bubbler. The perc fires beautifully even with the highly restrictive PV GonG stem.

I made one with activated carbon and I believe it functions like the hide-a-hoot, no smell but some vapor. I used a toothbrush holder so very convenient. I wonder what else is inside the smoke buddy. Next time yours is used up break it up and post pics of what is inside please if you remember.

Now back to our show. That was some milking.

I don't have a link handy, unfortunately, but I know I've seen somewhere on the web a pic of a dissected Smoke Buddy. IIRC, in addition to activated carbon there's also some folded-up paper filter material of some kind.

Not my images, but they where on grasscity and I know you have to be a member to look at them in the thread:

I can't believe that is all the active carbon there is.

Toke city has even better pics. I registered grasscity to see them but thanks. I want to know what that paper is and why the black filter is there cause they really don't do anything. I have used them in my house for filtering dust "not". I am going to rework mine and try for no smoke but I did get no smell which is what really matters.

Ok guess we need to bring this to the correct thread so no more of this. Back to the lovely bubbler.

Did you have a third-person observer detect no smell? It can be really difficult picking up on a faint smell when you've just taken the hit yourself.

Its crazy isnt it. Activated carbon is such a powerful adsorbent (differnt then absorbent) due to its extreme surface area from its porosity. A single gram of activated carbon has a surface area greater then a football field. :science:

I am about to order the solo. Should I get the case or any extras? I am ordering from puffitup.

    Thoughts on the SmokeBuddy . . .
    1. Traps moisture so store it with both ends open to air
    2. Makes an excellent cough shield/suppressor
    3. Needs to be a slimmer version for portable/stealth "needs"
    4. Check around for pricing, the OEM site is $$$

They sell a smoke buddy jr..I saw it on ALT site. It looks like a small flask. I dig the look, but my local headshop only carried the original. So Im on my 2nd one (blue). It works,it just looks like a plastic grenade..I may give that hideahoot a look. Ive only had my smokebuddy for a little over a week and its already rattling inside. Sounds like a maraca...I wonder why that is..

Now this all makes sense, except for the fact he lights the bud on fire. If you have dank youll smell that immediately, no?

I was thinking of copping this for my Pax because I have been called out at work several times already for just coming back into the office AFTER use outside. Maybe ill have to bring my Ha to work and use the smokebuddy with that. I thought vaping would solve the smell issue (not mine but people who are against the mighty green leaf) but it didnt

I myself like to make a version of the super spoof I found on reddit. I no longer have the post saved so I can't give credit, but this was the extent of it: Take a water bottle and poke a lot of holes in the bottom. Add 5 wet wipes/dryer sheets and push them to the bottom. Add a lot of baking soda. Add another 5 wet wipes/dryer sheets. Add crushed up charcoal and activated carbon. Add some more wet wipes/dryer sheets.

Actually @Live-N-Learn I dont light my bud on fire. I vape my buds. I smoke newports. And I love it. But around these parts it seems us smokers have to stay closeted...At risk of enciting the masses

Not you burning but the guy in the video lit the bud through his bong. I also vape as well. I dont know if this will work for me because I can blow it into this thing but then My Pax still reeks until it cools down. Maybe it would work better for my HA. (I dont want to bring that to work everyday though =\ )

& I hate you newport smokers and smokers in general. My sister would open the car window in a snowstorm to puff on that newport. Yuck! At least bud smells good

I've had 2 Smoke Buddy's and 1 HideAhoot. My first Smoke Buddy (blue) I still have and use and it's amazing! I exhale vapour in and nothing comes out the other end. I always have to vape standing up by my kitchen exhaust hood range fan to exhale into it otherwise my wife wouldn't allow indoor vaping. However, with the SB she let's me sit on the sofa with my Solo and never complains about any odours.

I decided I wanted a black SB too....well that one kinda sucked. I could definitely see vapour coming out the other end and the wifey didn't approve so I got a refund. I guess it was defective, or at least didn't work AS well as my original blue.

I found the hideahoot a complete waste of money, and you could CLEARLY see vapour coming out the other end. Can't confirm on how much it "smelled" though, but it too went back.

A toilet paper roll tube with fabric softener sheets works pretty damn well too.

a water bottle full of drier sheets, and then attatch a gasmask filter in reverse and your good, now you have something to use that filter for, you know the one from when you bought a gasmask to hook up to your vape? oh what you haven't done this yet? well you need too!

I have one and use it occasionally when smoking indoors because I don't like the smell hanging around for days. I dont bother with vaping, I never notice any odor.

They are good value considering how long they last.
