Subscribing to this thread as I've only just started reading and think I might want one.
The instantaneous extraction has me interested. The FP requires some technique.
The only thing putting me off really is the height. I might have to look for a new glass piece with a lower joint

This is a really unique vape. It’s limitations are the size, exposed hot areas and hooking up to a power controller.

Functionally it is amazing! If you have a dedicated vape station, it’s perfect. Mine is on every evening so I can take quick microdoses at will. I’ve had a few people over to try it and one of them calls it her ‘one hit wonder’ because one hit is all it takes. Personally, I need about three or four microdoses to get started, but the effects are much stronger than my normal sessions.

I’ve got it dialed in now at 750 for quick, full microdose extraction that is consistently tan every time after one hit. The one hit extraction has thrown my routine for a loop. I’m used to sessions and have grown fond of them, so I find myself taking more hits then necessary from the GS because I’m not used to taking just one hit!

Anyhow, this is what I’m using on a nightly basis!

Did some experimenting this weekend between temps. Used the same rig and PID through out the weekend. Found the following:

710 degrees - good flavor, two to three draws needed to finish microdose basket into dark roasted to light brown. Flavor in first draw, second draw still some flavor, then third draw is the taste of a about to be done bowl. Medicated feeling comes on a few mins after finishing bowl.

730 degrees - still good flavor now just two good draws and microdose bowl is done. Second draw does not have same flavor intensity. Medicated feeling is delayed like at 710 just comes on sooner than 710. Same colors come out on the ABV as 710.

750 degrees - one and done draws possible with flavor. If you mess up you know you taking a second that will not be as flavorsble. Medicated feeling seemed to come on soon after finishing the bowl. We are liking 750. Dark roast with a pocket of khaki on one hit bowls. Two draws for, sure makes dark coffee grinds ABV.

Not a thing, buddy! Old habit of mine to vape and post about the vape I'm using. If I post about a vape regularly, that means I'm using it among a sea of options and I consider it to be a good one!

I think I saw your quest for something that works for you continues. That sucks...you've tried so many of my favorite vapes and I'm rooting for you to find the one you can tolerate. I wish I knew what would work for you situation, but I'm baffled as much as you are by it. I'm gonna wanna throw a party when you finally find it!

Thanks very much Sticks for those kind and heartfelt words. The very first post I made here in 2015, I remember clearly you being one of the first few to chime in and welcome me to the forum.

Did you see my posts today in Herborizer corner? I do tolerate the Herbo Ti very well now actually. I ould have just bought that again instead of trying the symphony out but I really want to try out all of the best options and pick the best one which I am most comfortable.

Having now been around a bit that is unquestionably the Herbo Ti. So not all bad eh? If there weren't so many other outstanding devices coming out that vape would surely be getting a lot more global attention and praise.

As soon as I can find a new home for my Symphony that is my next stop so you can have a little party right now if you like! Thanks again for all your excellent contributions here and Happy New Year!

Unquestionably? Are you sure? Only reason I ask is that if you had the intolerance to the Herbo Ti and sold it before, why couldn't that intolerance possibly return? Have you considered something like the Herbalizer?

I dunno man, it's pretty dark ages without a PID.... once that changes perhaps it will gather momentum, but quite pricey proprietary parts don't help either. Furthermore other than maybe? yourself (due to your initial intolerance and selling) I think most have preferred their GS over the Herbo that have had both? The Herbo is a fine connoisseur level device that I think will REALLY be put on the map this year with the digital pid version!

Really wish you shared your secret earlier! Could have potentially saved me some scratch! ;)

No it really isn't like that bro. The reason I couldn't tolerate it in May was because my respiratory infections were at a much much higher level then. It was really difficult for me to use any of my vapes without serious toil and trouble, the Ti was just too much at the time.

But that was then and things have changed. Since I began electricity treatments several months ago, my infections were lowered so much that I began to tolerate my other vapes much much better.
So I visited my friend Dave who bought it to see how well I would handle it since the improvements. And it went very well. Absolutely no indicatiin of a problem to my surprise.

Then after I gave up suffering with the Showerhead, I borrowed the Ti for 10 days to make sure it really would be a comfortable and enjoyable option.

I used it for 10 days very happily. It didn't appear to be more of an issue than the XL, and better to use. Not one day, or one point of a day did think- this isn't going to work for me,,or I can't take this suffering any more.

I was sorry when Dave came to collect it.

So it isn't at all like some mysterious reaction or intolerance to the Ti. If my infections were to massively re-grow again, then using any vaporizer is going to be more difficullt and less enjoyable, on a linear gradiant with the level of infection.

However, the GS and FP are TOTALLY different. I can't use them now for a single moment without intolerable suffering, on any heat.
If I had kept the Herbo Ti, I would still be using it every day now.
Im just trying to make it clear what I think you have misunderstood or are viewing out of context. I can't think what words or phrases to express this, but it honestly isn't like you are picturing it in your mind going from the points you make.

Sure though, the Digi-Ti will be a welcome addition. But Im not personally bothered about that at all. I know I can use the Herbo anywhere between 5 and 5.7ish and get consistent results without feeling the need for pinpoint temp control. Small loads, bigger loads.

Only the loose screen, and need (sort of) for heat soaking lets it down for me when it comes to actually using it, not just on paper. I don't mind the initial heat soak, but I don't like so uch to feel like I need to always keep the heater on the bowl during the session, that is more inconvenient.

I'm having trouble finding consumer ceramic printing services, shapeways stopped doing ceramic and does porcelain instead now. I'm not sure if porcelain would be ok, I would think it's lighter and more fragile so I'm not sure if it would still work.

The pricing is making me re-think actually doing it, but I'm having fun trying to make it. I've always wanted to play around with 3d printing stuff. I'm totally doing this for fun, not because I think I need a better stand or anything.

Based off that link/pdf I've got a 24/40 female joint 3d model where the top hole is 24.5mm and the bottom around 20.5mm. I'm adding in an extra .5 just in case. I know someone with a 3d printer, I'm hoping he can make some plastic test joints for me before I spend any real money on it. Unfortunately with ceramic/porcelain you need to worry about the width of the glaze they add too...

This was exactly what I needed though since I couldn't change the angle/taper, thank you sir.

Porcelain is just highly refined ceramic with uniform consistency. I bet it's a little easier to print with and it can be stronger than ceramic if done correctly.

I think it's a good idea to wait for the DigiTi. Don't sell your Auber! It'll probabely work with the DigiTi - for much less costs - too. Perhaps a little rewiring. Or you will need it for another pid driven device in the future. So you could spare the money for a probabely VERY high priced Herbo controller.
My known offer is still available up to then, my friend!

Thanks friend for thoughtful and very selfless advice and generous loan offer.
I intend to email Sebastien and ask about prospects/timing on the digi-Ti.

If he says it is on the way, depending on how it will work I may ask him to sell me just what I need, minus controller.
I could use my XL controller until then, I expect to sell the XL when I have the Ti. Will need to check about needing a separate controller though- I was assuming the Digi-Ti IS effectively the controller itself?

Really appreciate your kind offer Hogni. However I confess- I do have a possessive side to my nature. When I was a kid, I never wanted to play with any other kids toys- unless theybwere MINE!:lol:

I can't wait to settle now with my chosen desktop for time forseeable. Borrowing one will only slow me down, but I will see what Sebastien says first.

Im sure I will offer the controller with the GS, as a full package, customs paid and all.
If I need it for the Digi- Ti, I can just order it again. No difference ultimately.

Oh yes- my FC-UFO arrived today- I really like the look and feel of it. It was originally for the GS but it wil be great for the Ti, XL, log vapes.

I GUESS heater will be the same. Probabely there'll come just another (digital) controller, may be another cable to connect it with the heater.
But looking at prices of Herbo parts I guess costs of the controller will unreasonably become high - hope I'm wrong.

Feel the need for more vapor from your Glass Symphony?
You will need a magic flight finishing grinder!

I first grind with my Kannastor using a fine plate then i add some of the ground herb to the MFFG and place that over my bowl and grind away! Tap the center load and get ready!

Flavor is still awesome as always, it's just the clouds are thicker!
    Perfect ABV as always!

    @biohacker
When your GS lands try 820 for your first setting. The actual temp will read around 812.
Use the micro bowl with either a screen or EQ bowl and do not overload.
With your lungs you could easily do a massive bowl in one hit but i would NOT recommend it! You will cough up a lung as there is just too much of a rush of good stuff!
Allow at least 5 minutes for a nice heat soak of the glass beads.
Nice, steady inhale till vapor stops and a slow exhale...
    Wait for it!

Cannot wait to see what you think of it!

@lazylathe thanks bro I can't wait either, it lands tomorrow! I was thinking more like mid 700's to start but i'm sure i'll quickly get a feel for the right temp for my airflow. Just going to use medium grind and see how it goes.... still have some leftover kief so i'm sure i'll see some sort of milk show!

But, what about the dabs? Just smear rosin on buds? Cotton wrapped in EQ basket screen?

At 820 my ABV is a perfect tan color we always aimed for in our sessions.
Kief is insane... the finer the grind the better it seems.

Dabs i leave for other vapes that are designed to handle them correctly and efficiently.
Just for science i tried a small dab on a bed of flower in the micro bowl, just for you!
It works remarkably well although i was not able to finish the hit in one breath... So 3 more hits to finish off the rosin and the taste was not as good but not bad either.
Cotton would also work in an EQ screen.

    The exhales are EPIC!!

    EDIT:
The rosin overpowers the flowers taste totally, 100% only taste rosin.
Go with cotton in the EQ bowl.

OK I've been meaning to ask this dumb question, why is the GS still in the "upcoming" section? What's keeping it from being finalized? Every time I'm vaped and pondering getting a desktop vape I keep coming back to this one ...

@lazylathe there is still this not yet fully clarified matter of the new heaters performing the same as the old ones 100 F lower on the controller. This is based on Jojo's observations of abv color largely on a side by side.

So @biohacker may still want to try mid 700's first, with sensitivities in mind largely.
I see owners rocking much higher temps with new heaters.
Jojo thought my abv from 765 was too dark.

740 was plenty I reckon, maybe that is almost enough for full extraction with the new heater.

And what was it @stickstones was on, loving his perfect one hit extractions? Wasn't it around 760?
Just to keep in mind anyway.
I, too am quite excited for Biohacker's 1st impressions. I say "quite" because I wish we could all be sure it would work out. Makes it hard to approach these things, you can't get excited or take anything for granted. It's like an apprehension with a suppressed excitement.
    Fingers crossed anyhow.

Seperate news-I tried the Elev8r earlier-it's awsome. Dense vapor and effects to rival anything I have tried I think, I was very surprised. Just awkard of course, and no regulation. Only one bowl but what an effect from just 0.25 max!

    @Alexis

Gotcha! I keep forgetting about the new heaters!
My older version is rock solid, so no complaints from me!
700 sounds about right to start with as i am at 820 so 720ish with the newer heater.

I looked at the Elev8r and it is just too unpredictable for me... Too much messing about with the torch and timing and remembering timings...LOL! Similar to my Vapocane and when it works, it works amazingly well! Overheat it and combustion!

I think the Elev8r is much safer as far as combustion goes. I did overdo it on my first heat up though- I didn't need to, I just didn't think it was going to hit that hard!
So it got my chest a little, but nothing like the GS or FP. If I hit any vape too high, it will cause some aggravation.
Like the XL on 8, or Ti on 6 upwards.

The Elev8r packs a serious punch though. Possibly the singularly most enjoyable effect I have had from any vaporizer in recent memory!
If the actual vapor was on tap, and regulated- THAT is the vaporizer I want to use right now, based on all others I have tried!!

Suddenly I can see why @biohacker would so love an electric SV3!
Somebody make me an electric Elev8r PLEASE!:bowdown:
