Anybody else buy from VaporNation? I ordered ELBs and a grinder on the 20th and it's still "Processing". But they already took the 40 some odd bucks from my account.

I ordered on Nov 27 and finally got them this last Friday. It took them 6 days to tell me they were back-ordered then 2 weeks after that. They aren't going to steal your money but you could be waiting a little bit if they aren't in stock. In-case anyone else is reading this, it's worth noting that they were about 1/3rd the price of anywhere else once you factor in shipping charges and the FC discount code.

The FC code didn't work for me and I read in the thread that it wasn't working for them too.

I ordered from them cuz I figured it was better to pay 1 shipping charge for my small ass items than pay twice. I think I might just cancel & order elsewhere.

Sorry for back to back posts. Maybe a mod can merge them.

mod note: Done.

@darco, a mini-ELB made from two EQ dome screens is a pretty decent solution in absence of ELBs.
I will occasionally use the mini-ELB over the normal ones for 'dab style' hits. This is where you only use a small amount of medicine (the mini-ELB doesn't hold much anyway obviously) and high temps (I use max setting for those hits) on the Cloud to take one big, thick vapor rip.

Some folks think the 'dab method' is a killer of Clouds (due to the max temps used) so keep that in mind.
I am in the school of thought that thermal cycling is the bigger problem. Because of that, my Fakexhale is RARELY off. I turn the temp down if I am not going to use it for a while but I keep it on with WeMo.

Anyway, about the mini-ELBs with the EQ screens. Take one of the EQ dome screens and place it flat, rim side down on a table. Take something round about the size of the bottom of the screen (I used a Sharpie) and push the screen up into/inside it's rim so that it comes out the other side.
This should allow the modified EQ screen to work as a cap for the other EQ screen. But it won't stay on with the Cloud inverted unless you bend/shape/mold part of the bent screen back into a 'lip' that allows for a press fit into the bottom screen.

I took a few quick pics of mine to show you... it's not a elegant solution but it works :D

Agreed...
After crunching numbers online. Shipping and so on.
Original ELBs are cheaper all the way than mini-ELBs if you order at least 8+ from Vapornation FC11 code.
Mini-ELBs will let your Cloud or EVO work in the meantime.
If you own an EVO you can go ELBless. Using the EQ cyclone bowl??
I have it but don't know if it's the correct name.
Actually any 18 female to female adapter with a properly fit screen will do the trick. I prove it and some others with videos. Tasty big hits too.

Maybe in the future I can order from them. For now, I don't have the time to waste. Thanks for updated code, Zangano.

I get you... BTW I ordered 11/27, they took my money, PayPal. After a week they let me know they are out of stock :(
I'm supposed to receive them today or tomorrow. I received my EVO faster than the ELBs

Almost there...
So my replacement Cloud arrived today!!
I was so excited, i sat around the whole day waiting for Fedex.
When it arrived i unwrapped the unit, let it warm up to room temp and then plugged it in.
Turn up to 12 and the RED led is on…2 hours later the RED led is still on….
Another DOA unit!
I was pretty pissed and sent off a nasty e mail, stupid i know…

Anyway in the meantime i decided to take the unit apart to see what the problem was.
The heater was cracked in 3 places and using a multimeter showed me there was no connectivity in the heater. So the cracked ceramic had broken the circuit in numerous places.

Since i knew i would be telling Team Heater about what i had done i was okay with not getting a new unit sent to me.

So i decided to remove the ceramic heater from the bamboo.
Easy enough with a diamond disc!
Cleaned up the bamboo and scraped the brown goo off.

Some of you may remember from another thread of mine that i am messing around with building my own vape.
Anyway i had ordered these 110V 50Watt silicone heaters and had not found a use for them yet.
I wrapped one around the bamboo, perfect fit!
Wrapped some thin aluminium wire around the heater to secure it to the bamboo but first i reinstalled the thermocouple between the heater and the bamboo.
I had to modify the inside of the case a bit to fit the larger bamboo tube.
Soldered it all back together but now the LED's are not shining on the bamboo so i could never tell when it was ready… So i drilled two small holes in the bottom casing and can now see what stays the vape is in by looking down the sides, not too bad!

Everything is slipped back in the original case and it works!!
Does it hit like a cloud? I am still not sure of that answer!
Does it work? Very well and a super even extraction and lots of massive clouds!

I do not go near noon though, it stays around the 10 to 11 area.
I guess it is because the heater is almost the length of the entire bamboo!

I will take some pics tomorrow if anyone wants to see!

Team Heater was kind enough to offer me a new bamboo plus heater core!!
More than generous!
It will be great to have a working cloud as it should be!

Edit 1: Oh and this thing is addicting!!!
Whole body tingling and numbness!! Just what i need for back pain!

Edit 2: I guess you know it works when you get ready and inhale a few times with NO ELB in!!! LMAO!!

Body tingling and numbness? Sounds like my limited experience with the cloud. Wonder what kind of heater it was? Almost sounds like an upgrade lol. If you dont mind how did you connect the cloud wires to the ceramic? Cool stuff

Sounds fantastic, lazylathe. Glad you made it work. VaporNation shipped my items after I sent an email about cancellation (coincidence, perhaps). Waiting not so patiently.

Here is the link to the new thread:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/fakexhale-cloud-mods.12014/

And the link to the heaters:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Customized-Silicone-Flexible-Heater-For-3d-Printers/1286648139.html

They customize them to your requirements. The ones i ordered were 55mm X 100mm
They are 110V 30 watt heaters and cost $1,50 each!

Thanks. I'd love to hear how your "lazylathe cloud mod" compares to the "teamheater cloud" when you get the new core.

Why would that surprise you? The majority of customers who purchased Clouds from this seller have received fully functioning units. Seems completely logical for someone to ask for a replacement if you are one of the unlucky few who's unit is defective upon arrival.

Also, as some have already stated it is believed the manufacturer has taken steps to actually improve upon the internal durability in these particular units in an effort to fix some of the problems associated with the previously manufactured Cloud models. Only time will tell for sure but it's actually possible these units may be more durable than previous "authentic" Clouds.

One last thing to note is that in this particular case, unfortunately you don't have the option to just "buy retail". For someone that is purchasing a unit to actually use now, and not in 3/4/5 months you basically had/have 3 options. Buy a used unit, buy new old stock for about $450, or buy one of these for ~ $100.

Well worth the hassle to send it back and receive a working unit for the price you're paying. That's just my opinion though, yours may be different.

The majority of customers including myself got units that had loose screws, misalignment issues and loose dry glass... shoddy workmanship. The seller sent me a 220V unit which is why I initially decided to return it, but after buying a 200W convertor and testing it, the unit functioned horribly. I hardly believe that these units are better made then the originals.

I have been following this post since it started and have only read a couple success stories, most people have complained about quality issues, wrong units sent, DOAs, long shipping times etc. Since most of the people here who bought fakexhales don't have retail clouds to compare to, I don't really trust the advice of the 50 or so people who bought these fakes, rather, the advice from the people who own retail units and have spoken about how amazing this vape is and how extremely obvious these units do not measure up in terms of quality, my da buddha hit better then my cloud i got from this guy.

Seeing how it took me over 2 weeks to receive a return label and emailing every day, It was a hassle just to get him to contact me back again, and his listings have disappeared from ebay.

But as you said, just my opinion, yours is different, but it seems like the consensus from this thread is that you may get lucky with a working one, or may not, with no warrantee, since he was willing to give me a full refund I was happy to get my money back and start saving for an EVO, even if it takes a few months.

I think there were only about 3DOA reported here.

I love the fact that some here have opened their machines, and one might have actually (possibly) found a way to fix it...loving this thread...

Sorry for the once that have gotten 'bad copies'...but I surely do not see how they could work 'better'. I mean, coffeedark brown ABV tells me this machine is capable of extracting the full range of goodies...white clouded bongs tell me it can keep the paste with even the hardest pulls...and I have not taken it beyond the 2 o'clock mark...

I definitely have gotten a different impression from this thread then you...:2c:

To daverus:
Maybe you haven't been reading how most of the legit Cloud plus are no longer functioning, and BTW most people got working units, and the ones that didn't or had issues with, had their problems taken care of (like you). Now, lets see how many people you find with legit Clouds that have been repaired.
At the end of the day is your money and only you can dictate how to spend it, same rule applies to me.
I guess I was one of the lucky few, but for what i have heard, every issue with these "fake" Clouds has been resolved, not so with the legit owners.

All my days in a daze...
my da buddha hit better then my cloud i got from this guy.

My DBV hasn't seen power again since my 'fake' Cloud+ hit my hands.
My 'fake' Cloud stays on approx 20hrs a day delivering huge clouds to 2 users.
The DBV now sits next to an analog Volcano on the shelf of unloved vaps.
But, hey, that's just my experiences.

I wanted a Cloud. I didn't want the undetermined wait for 220v EVOs to ship to regular buyers (they're still in testing phase with 220v). I could have bought an 'official' Cloud+ (still in stock) from my local Aussie retailer for $500. But it would be a unit made by the SAME people who made the Ebay units, with the SAME known issues. And it would offer virtually the same warranty (effectively NONE).
Easy decision to make.
It DOES NOT mean a lot of us still won't be buying EVOs.

BTW, you claim MOST people have had bad experiences with this seller/item.
I claim BS.
He sold over 200.
There are 45 positive feedbacks on Clouds.
There are 7 negative and 1 neutral feedbacks on Clouds.
You make a claim, if you'd like it to be considered, prove your numbers.

I've seen countless guys on this forum express their dismay with a broken official Cloud and no expectation of replacement/repair anywhere in the near future.
Because I am far more protective of my own interests than some company I'm not involved with, I'll take the risk/hit at the $125 price point rather than $500 price point.
Simple economics.
