@Slow Draw McGraw hemp seed oil and beeswax. It's quickly become my favorite finish and just seems in keeping given the subject matter. Smells nice and food safe
I always get dark ABV which is fine with me. You can always stop heating before the click comes and get some tasty hits and a lighter leftovers.
Can we take it you will be donning some gloves and giving us a video once your happy with your technique? You know how FC'ers love a bit of vapor porn.

How do I go about aquiring a vapcap in the uk???

It's come from nowhere, to me really wanting one...

I only been lurking for a couple of pages....

But this is one of the most visually pleasing vape threads iv seen.....

I want this stuff.....

George can send is beauty overseas for 13$, all you have to do is adding " international shipping for warranty replacement" to your cart when ordering on the dynavap website ;)

Be careful, the more you're lurking the more you gonna want to buy some Dyna's stuff :science:

Also @kellya86 vapefiend has started selling them for around 30quid and I also have some og vapcaps for the same price (for collection only though I'm afraid) :)

Vapefiend is out of stock, it was my first port of call...

Maybe I should ring them to check if they are getting more stock before I order from overseas and have a long wait and possible customs charges or tax..

I'm so intrigued by this product, thanks for the info and link people, I'm off to the website now, possibly to order....

Edit:- way to much choice, more education on my part needed, gonna have to start reading back on this thread to gain some vapcap knowledge......

Anyone got any pearls of wisdom on this matter to pass on????

Should I just get the original, and get a wood stem from @phattpiggie

I would recommend biting the bullet & ordering a Ti. Yes it costs more but is very durable. My OG cracked & now it is either a spare cap or I will order a new body when I order another Ti. You are very right on @phattpiggie & his beautiful stems. I know I want one in blackwood for my DD.

Personally I would get a Ti woody with 2 packs of condenser & tip O rings. If you are not going to use a Dynastash then I would recommend the full size Ti & maybe a XL condenser. I use mine with the short condenser & rubber mouthpiece these days. What really matter is the tip & cap though so you really can't go wrong.

One other thing I have found indispensable is a silicone ashtray for dumping my ABV in.

I was talking to George the other day. He said he hadn't taken temperature readings on the Vapcap.
I have a Fluke 52. It's a "K" thermocouple thermometer. It's good for -200C to 1370C or -328F to
2498F.
That said, I'm trying to rig up a way to heat the cap the same every time. the "tc" is two insulated wires with a jacket, soldered together at the end. I tried a couple times just pushing the tc up the mouthpiece. The heat wasn't the same every time.
Any ideas?
I am trying to hold the vapcap horizontal, wrap a string around the vape to give it a little rotation. My problem is the flame application.
Don't get mad at me. I'm just trying to acquire information for everyone. Doc

My evo does this EXTREMELY well. by far the best hits I get off my vapcap is when heated in the Evo. I believe it's because of the complete and even heating it gets in that hot glass tube. My girlfriend just rolls her eyes that I use a $400 vape to heat up a $30 vape to actually use!! haha, I like to use them all!

@Phattpiggies stems will not fit the Original Vapcap. You will need a Ti tipped Vapcap for that.

Here is how I would think about the Dynavap line of vaporizers...

You essentially need to make a few basic decisions regarding cost, durability, function and taste.

There are two categories of Vapcaps; those with a one piece glass body and bowl (or tip) and those that have a titanium bowl (or tip).

The one piece body/bowl models are the:

- Original Vapcap - all glass body/bowl, glass condenser and rubber mouthpiece (mp).

- Vapcap s -all glass body/bowl, stainless steel condenser and wood mouthpiece (mp).

These fit into the Dynastash and DynastashER. They are glass so they are fragile. They are also the least expensive option. Many people start here and once they discover the Vapcap virtues, they upgrade to a Ti model.

The Ti tip models are modular and could be divided into long stem versions and short body versions:

- Long stem versions are the Ti VonG and the Ti Woody. They don't come with mouthpieces but you can add them if you swap out the condenser for an XL condenser with mp.

These fit into the Dynastash/ERs without a mp. If you add a mp you add 17mm to the length. So, if you also want a stash, order the DynastashXL.

- the short body versions are the Ti Woody s and the Omnivap. The Ti Woody comes with a wood short body and mp. The Omni has a titanium body and mp. Due to the all metal construction, the Omni could be considered indestructible.

The Omni has a performance advantage over the other models in that the ti mp offers an adjustable airflow by turning it.

All short body versions fit in the Dynastash/ER.

Short body VonGs are also available but they will also have a mp.

Here comes the brilliance of the modular build....
All the Ti tip versions have a plethora of wood, metal and glass body/stem options. This is where you can customize a piece to your taste. Poke around the thread and you will see astonishingly beautiful Vapcaps. Once you think you know what you want you can order from George's website. If you see something you like but it's not on the website, contact George and he will fix you up. His website is continually being updated.

If you choose a Ti tip Vapcap, you can add to your delight by adding extra bodies or stems to swap out for a different look.

If you get a Ti tip Vapcap, you can then branch out into other modular modifications by indulging in @phattpiggie s stems.

I LOVE my woodies and I LOVE my Omni. It's all a matter of choice. You can't really go wrong.

Enjoy!

mrbonsai420, that would be neat to have an Evo, but a little pricey for this project. Have any cheaper ideas?
Birthday candles are more in line with my budget. I thought about a Bunsen burner. Anybody tried a heat gun yet?
Give me some ideas people.

I was exactly the same.

Just customise one on the dynavap website.

Place order, then wait.

I ordered an OG in the 420 sale and even that was worth the $12 postage.

@Squiby thanks for that extremely informative post, that's just what I needed...

Thanks to @Stevenski and @h3rbalist, this is all much needed information...

I will be going for a ti vapcap by the looks of it...

I'm a bit confused by the xl condenser thing and dynastash, if anyone would care to explain it would be much appreciated....

If not I'll research it myself, hate to ask basic questions....

Edit:- I'm looking at the ti glassy, as I like glass, and plan to buy wood from @phattpiggie....

So this only comes with a standard condenser, do I need the xl?

So if I was to get the ti vong, I could still buy the glass mouth piece or a wood stem and it will fit right?
As it's modular???

And if I get the vong, does it have the double crown, as it's a specific option for the woody and standard on the s...and it says the vong is same spec as woody.

I bet I'm being one of them frustrating people who just don't get it.....sorry

So I had to switch back to single flame. The quad flame I had wasn't heating evenly. Two of the four flames we burning higher and causing the front of the load to char too quickly. The single flame is working well. Taste is alot better. The quad flame is cool, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong using that torch. I shall look for a triple flame lighter.

Remember how I mentioned that there are long stem Ti Woodies? Well, if you order one, the stock condenser that is located inside the stem portion of the Vapcap only accommodates the length of the stem. So, it looks like this...

This is paduak wood Dynastash with a cocobolo Ti Woody on it.

IMG_20151103_113434631_HDR_zpsvaqthwo9.jpg

The Dynastash is a "dugout" style storage device. It stores the Vapcap in a hole concealed by a swivel top on one end and beside it is another hole to store your stash. It also has a magnet to hold your Vapcap vertical. Very handy!

Notice that the Dynastash is only slightly longer than the Vapcap. The stock Vapcap is approx 3 1/2 inches long.

Now, if you like the long stem AND would like to add a wood mouthpiece to it, you need to swap out the stock condenser and add the longer XL condenser with mp. Now your Vapcap is almost 4 1/4 inches long and it won't fit into the regular Dynastash.

If you like the long stem with mp AND also want a Dynastash for it,order the Dynastash XL.

The short body Ti Vapcaps come with mouthpieces and they are 3 1/2 inches long....as long as the long bodied VC with no mp.

This is a Standard cocobolo Ti Woody with an XL condenser kit on top of a DynaStashER XL.

IMG_20160707_235157950_HDR_zpstdqyuxhl.jpg

And this one is a regular length bocote DynaStashER 2 between them.

IMG_20160707_235309915_HDR_zpsd9nr1g1e.jpg

Which to get???

Well, I have both and love them both. Do you want a slightly longer or slightly shorter VC? Do you want a mp or do you prefer the blunt end? The shorter version is possibly more stealthy. It may accommodate small hands better than large hands.

In the end. I think that the choice comes down to your own personal aesthetics. They all operate the same. By that I mean that they are the most fantabulous vaps a I have ever had the pleasure to use.

Don't get too wound up in making a choice....believe me ....once you use one, you'll be back for another. Just sayin'.

Edit:- I'm looking at the ti glassy, as I like glass, and plan to buy wood from @phattpiggie....

So this only comes with a standard condenser, do I need the xl? No

So if I was to get the ti vong, I could still buy the glass mouth piece or a wood stem and it will fit right? If you get the Ti VonG as with any other Ti VCs, you can get other VonGs or stems in glass metal or wood, and yes, they all fit. So far there is no glass mp that can be added. The additional mps are wood, titanium if you get the Omni.
As it's modular???

And if I get the vong, does it have the double crown, as it's a specific option for the woody and standard on the s...and it says the vong is same spec as woody. Crowns are the metal end caps on the straight sleeves and bodies. The VongS don't have them. Same specs refer to overall length, standard condenser length, Ti tip and being able to fit the Dynastash.

@Squiby thank you so much for taking the time to create such an informative post for me, with pics and all...

You deserve more than a like...

It is very much appreciated, I now have a rough understanding of the vapcap range, and am much closer to my next purchase...

Thanks to you, and a couple of others iv mentioned....

I am very excited now, although this morning I thought I'd be spending 30 quid, now it appears to be over 100...

But just look at them, I don't know why, but I think they may be the most beautiful vapes iv seen so far, it jus does it for me...

I really like the padauk dynastash and cocobolo ti woody....

kellya86

Herb gardener...
Right so I've gone for a cocobolo ti woody xls double crown....
Then I got an 18mm cocobolo vong.....
And the dynastashXL in bocote....

This comes to 154 pounds delivered.....

Although it warn's of delayed shipping....

Any reason why I shouldn't process this basket?????

And has anyone got a pic of inside the dynastash?????

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong

I think you are applying flame too close. Personally I find quadruple torch best choice (bought 3 of them) but I stay far from the cap, rarely touch it with flame, or if I do it is only with the outter less bright one and always spinning (and get brown abv, not too dark nor charred)
I find taste is even better when torch is set on High :)
