I even actually heard the opposite. The vapor quality is exactly the same as the Air II. I heard it can get warm but that’s if your doing session after session. Won’t get mine until tomorrow so we’ll see

Its ALL speculation till we get the unit in our hands for further review. Im, still, glad they chose SS over Alu. It may take a bit longer to heat/convect but does have 2 18650's so battery drain should not be anything like the CFV. Fingers crossed!

If SS doesn't add conduction, why they didn't go with quartz/boro instead?

Yes that's a good question. But if I recall correctly you are amongst the ones who like the metal ring in the CFV right? Wasn't it already aluminium by the way?

I imagine it still has some effect, at least once it gets burning hot and hotter than the load material (prior to that it can only rob from the hot air stream, as the gradient can only go one way from hot to cold)

I ended using an EQ dome screen instead of any rings. I tried the aluminium ring for a couple weeks but to be honest the improvement wasn't that good and flavor was compromised. Glass is my favorite of the original ones but just an EQ screen without ring is even better IME.

But did you notice any real increase in conduction? Do you think this is why you felt the taste was compromised?

Would be a shame if the Tera has a worst taste than the CFV/SwiftPro due to that...

I guess it was some conduction going on, the flavor doesn't last the same. But we don't know how will work in the Tera, I hope it to have a similar flavor profile/control of temperature, but being able to cash up a load faster if wanted. That would be perfect :)

    A man can dream right?

SS is known to hold its heat so I'm willing to bet there will be quite a bit of conduction. I wish they would've made the bowl smaller with interchangeable rings. Maybe make it cave in for better reload without the outside rim and keep the changeable batteries. Or maybe the ability to adjust the bowl size based on the size of the wooden insert. That would've been pretty badass.

Right, but I find that the v1 is already not too dependent on bowl size or packing. It works well with little or full, tamped or not, and I find extraction quite even compared to most other convection vapes I have. For instance I never stir as the extra yield is minimal at best. That contrasts to other convection vapes were stirring is almost mandatory.

I never used the wooden rings by the way. Not a fan of the extra added flavor. The quartz one is all I use and it's super easy to clean.

I love the rings. I use essential oil drops on them while I'm vaping to get added benefits of chamomile and stuff. I'm surprised its not a main selling point of the unit.

I'm going to assume as well that it's going to be a little more like the other units currently out with stainless steel bowls and convection heating. I enjoy those units as well as I can put a sliver in it and get one good little cloud to take off nerves. Micro dosing on the cfv has always been an issue to me. I do however love using the normal size amount or less. Just not the size I can get in SS bowl units.

Ah good points. Your oil drops usage is not something we hear from very often, but nonetheless a very valid use case for the rings.

It's possible also that your micro doses are even smaller than what I consider mines to be. It's clear that at some point if you don't cover the bottom screen fully, performance starts to drop as air happily bypasses the plant bits.

Hopefully the Boundless team will startup their live stream tomorrow to provide status on ship date, and hopefully the lack of detailed communication on the delay is not related to any major obstacles....

I heard from Eric last week and he told me, at that time, that they would have a 1/17 lifestream. He also told me some other things re: the Tera but I will leave those details up to Boundless to share with us.

At this point, I will expect them for March/April to be honest. Chinese new year is around the corner...

No issues for me as I'm waiting for the upgrade program to be available, but if I did pre order I wouldn't mind either. As u always say, I will rather wait a couple more months and have an improved product that something unfinished that doesn't work properly.

E-mail last week said first units should ship by end of the month... We'll see. I'd love it in my hands, but I'm in no rush.

Don't know how relevant this is and don't want to speculate too much but their Facebook page "seems" to indicate they may have received the first batch and "may" be processing pre-orders. The wording is not clear so go there and read it for yourself. I did receive an email from Eric early last week and was hoping they would live stream to bring us up to date. Suffice it to say that Smiss has promised the first units before the Chinese New Year on Feb 15th. Take it for what its worth. The boys are doing the best they can. The change in bowl from Alu to S.S. steel is what pushed things back.Without the change, I believe, we would already have the Tera! They didn't, even, get the final production model, in S.S. till the middle of December. Thats when they decided to go the direction that the consensus of their customer base was wanting with Stainless instead of Aluminum.
