Hi buzzy and welcome to the forum! I'm glad to hear the Zap has caught your attention. No surprise here that I love them. I have not used mine with a bong, but have multiple Tooties and stems and love to vary my usage of them. Each one gives it's own unique hit.

The Zap, however, is not a good party vape. It's fine with 1-3 people, but more than that is pushing it. Passing the Zap around puts a strain on the power cord. What I have found, since starting vaping, is that I needed multiple vapes. A whip type for group situations, the Zap for personal, efficient use, and one that was portable. Of all those vapes, the Zap is the one I use the most. IMHO, if I had to narrow it down to one vape, I would probably choose the Zap because aesthetically I like it the most, and it is the most efficient with herb. It also has the flexibility of using a bong, if desired.

You should probably decide what you need most in a vape before making a purchase. If it's something for a crowd, there are other options out there that might suit you better. If a more personal vape will work for you, I highly recommend the Zap.

Buzzy,
Welcome to the forum and congrats on choosing the MZ as your first vape. Ill back Mom up on everything she said. Ive had my Zap for 1-1/2 months now and I love it. I have the standard stems and 1 Tooty, and Ill alternate between the two depending on my mood. Either way It more than gets the job done and will put a smile on your face. :D

Check this out. Especially those of you who go through transformers. An Email I just got(partial)

"Hi Rick,

Long time zap user here (nearing 10 years) and I need a new transformer as mine died out. I plan on upgrading to a Myrtle from my softwood in due time, hopefully within a few months, but until then it would be great if I could get a transformer off you, since Jameco charges an arm and a leg to ship."

So I grabbed the opportunity and will send him one on us.

10 yrs. He was one of the first, in fact gave his OG screen name.

Hey guys...

So I put my zap on the car adapter for a bit with my car running to try out the 13.5v. My zap has been on 24/7 for about 4 days and im still definitely wanting thicker vapor. On the car adapter, i got significantly thicker vapor. Larger hits with about 1-2 more hits per stem. I'm not sure that with time my Zap will be able to do this with a 12v or what. Even if it does, i purchased my M-Zap based on the vapor production of my friends old A-Zap. I know most people disagree, but i guess i gotta try the 13.5 for a while.

vcasal2, it's not that I disagree, it's just that I think you will find you don't need it for long. But, if you do decide to get it, make sure you only use the 13.5 when you are actually using your vape. When it's on "stand by" put it back on the 12v. I don't think it would hurt anything to try it on the 13.5 for a while to see if the hits are more to your liking. But I think after a while, you will find the 12v is adequate.

Im sure you will find after the 'break in' period your 12v will be fine. Or maybe the 13.5v will in fact be what you are looking for in your Zap. It just seems that the consensus round here is we too were fascinated with our 13.5ers initially. Then somewhere along the line the 12v just seemed to satisfy

That and the fact that I like to save my Zap ABV for brownies. I dont compromise *too* much by exclusively using the 12v and my top shelf buds this way for cooking.

Good luck bud!

Its the same with me, I too used the 13.5V at the start but only a few times then switched solely to the 12V and I'm getting all I want or need from that. The vapor tastes so much better using the 12V than the 13.5V. The taste may not be a priority at first, but gets to be that way after a while making the vaping experience all that much more enjoyable. There are of course some that just prefer the 13.5V over the 12V but for me and I think the majority, it's still the 12V. I think that youll find out that your Zap will run hotter over time thereby making the 13.5V a less attractive option.

I had always known OG as Original Gangster. I have also heard it referring to an older experienced person maybe, but never knew anything else it would stand for. So yeah, i guess i was assumed Ice-T was correct, maybe i was way off though. To me thought Rick was kindof making a joke while showing respect for this old timer Zapper at the same time.

yeah, pretty sure he means overgrow. which is an old forum i wasn't actually on, but i think was pretty big before being shut down.

also, I think my MZ may be picking the temp up a bit already. I'll keep testing, regularly, and see how things progress. But it's already getting the job done pretty well and seems to be doing good for efficiency (beating my other vapes).

2 shots of gold dragon + plenty of MZ stems is pretty magical right now.

I hear you rabblerouser! One ABV brownie and enough stems that I've lost count. Definitely a great night!

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Zap! :D

rabble is right on. Overgrow.com OG
The old extra stem routine was "mention OG for an extra stem".
We were there for awhile. Sweetnugs. Learned alot about alot related to what I know and love. Aromazap started there with a dinky little ad. I'm sure some folks here(VTAC?) could give a quick review of why they got shut down. I never really found out. They just disappeared.
I remember one time one of the long time members who also did beans took a trip for a vacation.........in his older corvette........with the top down.......and a Zap between the seats.........with pics on OG. My god did my sales take a BIG spike for a week or two. Cannot remember his screen name right now but it will come to me in the middle of the night.................then I will forget it again.
Maybe some old timers with better memories than me. Maybe another thread?
Those were fun times. Like now. Like always.

Hi all, while I'm lovin the lightwood zap I got with the fathers day special, I have one issue concerning the tooty it came with. Whenever I finish a stem and go to remove it, the tip stays inside the zap and it takes a little effort to remove the hot tip from the unit. Is there a way I can bend or mold to tip to better stay inside the toot? Thanks.

Kip,

Hi Kip. Yes, you need to slightly smoosh the tip that goes into the Tooty so that it isn't a perfect circle anymore. Not too much, just a little. Then, after inserting it in the Tooty, give it a slight twist to seat it. That should solve your problem. :)

Glad you brought that up. We include a note in each pack of Tooty tips. Perhaps I missed yours?
Here is the note:

TOOTY TIPS
Tooty tips are squeezed across the axis at the lower(back) end of the tip to make them slightly out of round. We squeeze them gently, just enough so they spring back to round when inserted in the brass insert at the end of the Tooty glass stem but also make a tight interference fit in the insert. They should go in with enough interference to stay in the insert until you decide to take the tip out with some effort. They should not fit so tight that you need pliers to pull them out. Insert them all the way in until they stop. You cannot push them in too far. If the fit gets a little loose over time, use a pair of regular pliers to squeeze the back end only of the removable tip a bit more out of round. You can turn the tip ninety degrees and squeeze it back to round if you get it too tight. All brass used for our tips is RoHS lead free brass and has been for years.

I have three levels of weed storage....I buy lids of what I like :D......I store long term in a mason jars in the fridge. Short term 8th's or less in a dark closet in mason jars and grind in 35mm canisters for daily. I had a strain I hadn't smoked in awhile and just did a few hits on the light Zap. Stuff was damn dry and crunchy.

Thick vapor.....really thick, almost bong like......weed turned a nice slightly dark shade of straw.

Just saying.

Love these MZ's....:)

Has anyone seen the beautiful wood stems (tubes) that are now available from Ed's Toke & Totes, or am I behind the times and everyone has seen them? The myrtal wood stems match the MZ perfectly. and come with a replaceable brass tip. He also has stems made from Cocobolo that look awesome. I love anything made from wood and this wood looks great!! :D
