Tree - GOAT 23. I'm basically in the same boat as you when it come to these log vapes. My first one was a rz1 prototype, which is a beauty. For some reason the concrete doesn't seem to work to well for insulating properties. The RZ1 (proto) gave me some decent vapor hits, but when I would go to clean it out I could tell that there was still a lot of goodies in there which I would put in another vape.
Now with this new RZ2, way warmer and pulling damn near all of the goodies out that I can tell. However, I'm like you tree, used to the big loads of meds, and now im packing up 1/40 of g. (.02g to .03g) of meds in the little stems. I'm getting pretty good rips, however I'm loading stem after stem after stem. I am going to make a conscious effort to work on lowering down my dosage, bc spending a minimum of 120$ a week sucks. I know everyone can multiply, but fuck that's like 500$ a month. I will cry the day that the United States and the world has ended the war on drugs.

I'm all for the war on drugs. Cocaine, heroine, crack, all these are truly awful. My problem is they include marijuana in that list. When they do that, it becomes the war on medication.

I know that's what you meant, but I thought I'd chime in with my :2c:.

Anyway, I'm off to look at some more Zap porn!

Just got my RZ in this afternoon, WOW, I can not believe how native and true it looks and feels in my hand, the raw bark gripping my skin and the unfinished center has a gentle rough feel, at first look I am taken a back by its beauty, others may say something different, but I am astounded and captivated by Mother Nature. I just have enough time to get it plugged up and ready for later, gonna take mrs. ed out for some lobster tonight! Will have a great dinner, drink a few coldies and finish off the evening vaping blue widow in my brand spanking new RZ!!!

Thank you Rick!

Cant wait to post pics and such later!

that one was really cool. Cant wait to see pics.

I am surprised no one has picked up that "wally" I feel like in real life, that one is a beauty. The new "clara" on there looks like a great shape too.

I have something specific in mind for my next one.

Only reason weed is illegal is anyone can grow it.

Not so. Until the end of prohibition cannabis was legal. When prohibition ended the liquor industry feared competition from our favorite plant and lobbied congress to outlaw cannabis.

there are many reasons cannabis is illegal, but none of them true or logical.
only because american's #1 concern in life is $$$. and we'll do anything for $$$.
kill, imprison, abuse, destroy lives... all for the sake of someone wanting to alter or expand ones mind and understanding of life and the universe.

i have little to no interest in most other drugs, but the more i see and understand what this so called 'war on drugs' does to not only us americans, but also every other country in the world...its ridiculous, and completely unjustified, and truthfully creating more crime/anger/war/hate everywhere.

back on subject
i was/am interested in refurbing my brass mzap.
but if the cost is similar to new, it'd be pointless imo.
is the SS core going to perform noticeably better vs the brass core?
i understand the 'safety' logic of material used, and an enclosed intake path..
but if i'm going to be paying a bunch for the refurb, i'd expect or want, to also see better performance.

still looking forward to what comes of this option none the less. if its cheaper than a 'new' NON-cermic model...then it'd prob be the better route to take.

I am seriously impressed with my new RockZap. I can see it becoming my daily driver, easily. I pretty much only vape through glass and the Zap has just incredible heat retention. It will milk even big pieces like a full size SG bubbler. It seems like the consistent heat is just endless......... Two stems to zapped for me.

Rick,

Quick question. I know the RockZap is designed to be on 24/7 and I have read somewhere about warm-up/cool down cycles stressing the wood, accelerating a loose heater on older models. Do you think the ceramic insulation will make it safe to warm-up/cool down frequently without stressing the wood?

are you planning on unplugging it all the time? I used to do that worried about fire safety, then I got over it. I love having that thing ready to go whenever I want it.

BTW, love towely.

I figured out a little trick today that makes the RZ act like a VX Cloud. It milks my SYN the same way those HydraTubes look in the videos. It's like a kamikaze dove into my diaphragm :D BOOM!

I snagged Wally! My first Zap.
I was going to wait for the Real Log, it's so cool, but I decided for Classy. I can't wait!

I agree! I'm already eying Ed's Black Walnut stem, I think that's the one to choose.

vbeazy,
So pretty much much the only things I can note about the RZ2 over its predecessor is taste, the different stem and maybe runs 5 degrees F hotter with the ceramic. Rick will wood ever have an influence on the RZ's? Taste is superb, and it hits many times. I do not grind up my material and still it gives me many generous hits. My cherry toasty top is still surprisingly hotter; but they are two different beasts. I love how you found a perfect balance with the gripper and mushroom models. I also like the burned lines; it looks very teak wood-ish. Hope this is what you were looking for Rick. Thanks again.

You guys already know how I feel about my Zaps.. and about Zapville.
You work hard, Rick
I knew you were moving forward, but this is more than I expected.
When I say I need a well functioning vape, I am not saying "I wanna get high". Yes, high is nice.
I smile and I hold my head high the best that I can, considering the cards I've been dealt... but I need functionality...

You came through for us.
Rick. I could write you an email, but I will say it publicly. I love you, man.
(Patty sends her thanks also.. as she sees me medicate faster, and more readily)
Thanks

Do you see the heat difference with the TT having a great effect on the number(and size) of hits?
Seeing that single stem 5 minute sesh from Vito's video with cloud after cloud was really jaw-dropping. I too am wondering if there is any performance variation between the RZs' sizes and woods.

I did my first stem "topped off" with a small pile of Kief today.
If you thought the 5 minute video session with that 1 stem was something... this was outrageous!
I thought that the stem would just never stop giving.
I was in there with that 1 stem that was topped off with kief for 10 minutes! :)

Don't kief hits blow your mind? They enhance the hit by a lot. What I do is put a lil bit of bud in, pack it lightly, then put a layer of kief (again, pack it lightly because some kief will want to come out), and then top it off with more bud, that way the kief doesn't fall out. Almost like a vaping sandwich. But man, those are the best vape hits.

Have to agree with this. Those kief stems are killer. I just top off my stem with it; there's no fall out if you smooth it with your finger. Those stems just keep going and going. Magic stems.

vbeazy, you will need to get an adapter sleeve for the stem from Ed if he hasn't changed over to SS. You can get one from him or from Rick. Just mention it when you order. You can also get a silicone adapter from Alan at Toasty Top.

It's raining - no work, woo hoo!
My RZ if performing really good. I've always tried to get the least resistant air flow when I'm loading up a stem, well I messed around with that and now I find myself loading up bigger loads, as in more resistance when you are pulling. It seems so be working out really good. I'm still new with her, but man o man, I do love her. I havn't tried any kief in it yet, but I can only imagine.
All FC members - much thanks to you, the info here is fucking priceless.
Rick, thankyou so much, just a matter of time until I order again and again...Seriously though, every piece you make is beautiful.

No kidding. I need to stop coming to the thread... every time I do it just makes me want to buy, buy, buy! :ko:

I guess I'm just waiting for the opportune moment. Once that beauty comes along that I simply must possess, I won't think twice. Lord knows if I do, she'll be snapped up by somebody else!

Thanks for the info, but I'm ahead of ya on this one. ;) Rick is a great guy and included a sleeve with my order. I specifically wanted it for Ed's stem since I don't have any older Zap stems. The thought of Ed making new sized stems did run my mind, because that would be nice. Maybe I'll contact him about it. As for the silicone adapter - that's new to me!
