Arizer Solo

I as well had a rough night (last night) far as pain goes, I woke up at 3:00am. So I brought my Solo in bed with me. It only took a 10 min session of some Northern Lights and I was ready for sleep. I drifted off back to sleep in minutes.

A portable is a must if you are a medical user of our fav flower. My Solo is my middle of the night go to vaporizer. It is standing by and is there at a moments notice. It only takes a couple min to heat up and a little bit of cannabis to get you medicated.

A very sturdy unit that can withstand that occasional tumble.:leaf::peace:

I am about to purchase a second hand solo, I am curious about the model numbers, I know all the info is on this thread somewhere but Im struggling to find it...

I don't want the model with issues like the flaking or the stainless steel oven...

Any help be appreciated and sorry again for being lazy

there are fake Solos floating around on the net .

No more flaking issues , it was with the Old ceramic ovens .
They're all Stainless steel ovens now .

You won't be disappointed mate.

However, I highly recommend going through @VapeFiend.com since you're across the Pond. Otherwise @PuffItUp or @VaporNation .

The new version is pretty damn good IMO.

I *believe* that the addition of the SS oven was the resolution to the Ceramic Heating Element flaking.

I'm gonna let @OF take the wheel here though.

Ok thanks for the replies, it's second hand, bought 2 months ago from nemastevapes... my friend just bought an eq so I'm buying his solo, demoting my flowermate v5.0s..

The solo has a stainless steel oven so I thought it may be old, but I obviously had that the wrong way round, I am not worried now...

Thanks...

As for not being disappointed, I have used this solo a couple of times, but have struggled to make it work very well for me, which is why I didn't buy one...

But I know that all you guys can't be wrong, it must have been me, I was rushing it, in an awkward situation.

I'm sure once I get to know it I will be happy with it...

But as of now I do prefer my flowermate, even though I know it's inferior...

Well we might be, but I think this time Ataxian is the only one that's wrong......the rest of us are bought off or too dim to understand, take your pick.

In a rare serious moment I'm not sure I agree FM is inferior, only different. For a given set of conditions Solo/Air might have the advantage but, for instance, when it comes to portability, use of pods, cost or stealth I think you could argue FM is superior? Under the right conditions both can be recommended I think, very hard to go very far wrong owning either of them. IMO they complement each other.

The very stuff from which horse races are traditionally made?

Don't worry I have more books coming.
We all have different needs and wants.
My old SOLO still works?
Was it your GIZMO making the batteries last?
Was it @Pipes stand?

I just use a SOLO for my portable because it works!

Just ordered one!
I'm fortunate to own a Solo with true pass-thru charging!
So I can use this for either charging or always plugged in.
Bringing some new love to my Solo!

That stand is an interesting release. With the sale on the Solo you'd think there might be a new Arizer model looming, or you'd also hope they wouldn't axe old faithful Solo!
But not if they're launching stands for it, it's probably here to stay for now.

I wanted to tell you that there is hope for lightly chipped stems, but not in the way I first thought!!
My bent stem that I got with my secondhand Solo was lightly chipped right where my lip contacts the stem sometimes, and it annoyed me so much it put me off using that stem.
I wanted to try fire polish it out, had seen some stuff on here but I didn't have a gas torch or flame, just the embers of a domestic fire.
Well after 40 minutes of burning hands, watering eyes and dropping the stem in the ashes, I gave up. And desperation triggered a memory of a Youtube poster who used sandpaper wet/dry to finish glass piping ends.
I used P320 with warm water streaming over and it worked great, rubbing the chipped section but also flatting the stem end in circular motion.
Looks cool/different with the flat end (like a vase!) and it cured the annoying chipped feeling.
Don't do this with the end that sticks in the Solo though, as I think a rounded, non-uniform edge here helps airflow.

Enjoying my bent stem properly for the first time ever now, although I already knew it's benefits of being able to view the vapor, changing the taste or temperature positively, and acting like hamsters!
It's been mentioned here before, and I also share the respect for the certain quality the stock stems give, while loving a PVHES turbo shorty also!

The Solo must be selling well if they're still releasing attachments for it. Other companies may have abandoned it in favor of the Air (which is their more recent vaporizer), Arizer obviously likes the numbers they're seeing with the Solo.

FWIW after having tried different stems I'm back to stock. Not even the turbo stems, though I have been having a hankering for one again... Currently using one of the shorter stock Air stems.

Even been down as low as 3 lately.
The slightly heavier glass of the Pvhes needs 4, often 5 or more.

Yep, that's what I find too. Another anecdotal observation to support conduction over convection heating. If the work was done by heated air rather than conduction though the glass it wouldn't be so?

I find this also with the Vortex stem, even more so? It seems to take higher heat settings and needs longer to recover between hits. But it can be worth it........

I think the PVHES has less to offer us sippers. I've come back to the straight factory stem most often these days. Nice to have the others around when the mood strikes though.

The larger thermal mass of a thicker stem will obviously require more heat energy to bring the chamber up to vaping temperatures (a prerequisite for proper vaporization). This does not however discount the fact that the temperature of the load increases during the draw which can only be attributed to convection.

Or longer time at the same temperature? More calories, but not degrees. But once there you need no more heat to keep it at temperature but you would if the heat was conducting through thicker glass? If the heat goes around it (in the air) I would not expect that to happen.

That sucks to hear your having problems with charging, it always charged for me. Good news is I bought it with a warranty! I will talk to you further in a PM.
