I have the EBAY 1/2" Screens 100 (Right Side Photo)
5 of the fitted ones from PLANET VAPES. (Left Side Photo)
    They both work.
100 will last until you die!
The Planet Vape Screens are 2 months old and like brand new after a ISO cleaning.

Everyone has different tolerance but I would count on a good 3-4 hours before you return to normal after that hot chocolate.

thanks ataxian!! I bought the eBay screens too.... couldnt justify paying a few bucks at PV for 5 screens when I could get 100 for only a few bucks more. I notice that the mesh is alot finer with PV...pros and cons I guess....i'll have better airflow with the bigger mesh, but I suppose more particulate will come through....ah well, better for the hot milk bevvie lol

    Regarding the HSG stones:

They are too big for the stems. They can be ground down with a dremel grinder (make sure to thoroughly blow and wash clean to avoid inhaling carbon/glass dust). They don't work.. period... because you cannot get it thin enough (waffer thickness) because it is too porous and fragile when ground that thin.

They work great as designed... for dabs and a torch in a bowl... but the vaporizer doesn't doesn't heat the material enough because the stone absorbs the heat (too much IMHO) to allow the actives to reach temp to vaporize.

I ended up tossing my experiment because of the lack of enough heat, AND the thickness needed to keep it stable was too thick for the stem.

If anyone else comes up with a working model for oils with it, I'd love to see where I went wrong thx.

I like the screen on the left the weave looks much smaller.(I dont know how they measure that)
But I've used Vapir No2 screens in my solo stems, not reshaped or anything.just stuck them in either way,
You could stick them in and use it as a "basket" to hold the weed or you could stick them in the"tophat" way and use much less weed.

Curious one can you show a pic of your only two week old stem so we can see how oily it is. Mine, that I have been letting get oily is not ready yet. I do use other vapes but the solo gets a good amount of use to the fact that I do have to charge it daily most of the time. I don't know how much longer I can take the bad taste from the oily stem. It is a little harsher but not to much but the taste ugh.

I have two glass stock straight stems fitted with the Planet Vape Screens.
Mine stay clean longer with the screens than without.
When I do clean them with ISO 93% they become crystal clear.

    Flavor?
    OMG!!!!!

With a clean stem and some Flowers:

    BIG SUR HOLY WEED
    CACTUS COOLER
    OG DDT
    NEW OG
    GIRL SCOUT COOKIES

With a side of PERSEI "CONCENTRATE VAPOR CLOUD from GIRL SCOUT WAX"!

My stems get clean too when I iso them. I am letting it get oily on purpose and yes I do have a screen in it but letting it get that way so I can have hot chocolate. The long straws I was looking out was just a mod I am trying to do to make a longer air path. When PV opens again I am getting one more bent stock and two PVHES one turbo and one not.

If you get 2 EQ glass mouth piece I bet you could connect them together with tubing and to the Solo stem
Or you could cut a straight stem and connect it the same way.

Dreamerr I made hot choc. 2 hours ago. What a mess! I'm usually good in the kitchen! Anyway, I actually cleaned my stem once before with iso. Had I not cleaned it before, it would've been perfect because it gets amber fast with me...it's all i use at least 5 times a day and my material is sticky. I do still feel it, but not as strong as it could've been.

I'd wait until you absolutely can't anymore, but I know how it is. I'm sorta anal about clean pieces too.

Edit: Actually drank it 3 hours ago...sorry. Lost an hour.

Used my solo for the first time friday and wow. I am very impressed and a I got a bunch of people interested in it lol. And when you guys say it gets you medicated you guys really meant that. Slightly more of a headhigh, and seems to be as intense or more intense compared to combustion all while using very little material. The solo is incredible. I also bought the oring at home depot. Seems like any #11 oring from the facet repair aisle will work since these are used at hot temps and with water so they are nontoxic. I am not sure if I like it better with or without the oring as a daily driver, I am still trying to test it and decide. But it definitely is better for on the go.

I am going to dump my screen pill container full of iso right now since you all got me curious. I will put it through a screen onto a plate or maybe in a bowl so nobody spills it. I will let you know in a week after it evaps or longer who knows. Then I will have to figure out what to do with it since I don't dab.

Has anyone confirmed if the Pelican 1120 case would fit a solo with adapter? I searched the forum and only found and old post asking the same. If so could I get four stems and a large Santa Cruz grinder or would I need the Pelican 1150 case?

Looks like these would do as well

Great find, might be Pelican 1150 case is the one.
Great case, the Solo might just fit right there where the lens is sitting now.
You will have to adjust some foam to fit in the power adapter and/or the charger and some stems, but it looks like it will be doable.
Amazing, that this thing is water tight and even pressurized, looks very durable.

I am just in the process of making a small clip on the subject of carrying the Solo around.
    (still working on it though)
I found some old (HP) photo bag which has thick sturdy padding and an adjustable Velcro strap inside where the Solo fits as if made for it and it has a special compartment to keep the stem safe and holds the stash box as well. Actually I got 2 of them bags, the other one is some larger so the power adapter or the charger will fit in there together with the Solo.

One of the pics from the clip:

Since the Solo is so very popular I hope they will make a special limited design edition with some great graphics design on the unit and a brand name as well.
They look so dull with just black (or silver) coating and no brand name or anything at all.

If they do I got some ideas for them to make use more practical, like using a cradle or dock to charge the unit and having the power adapter fit from the side instead from the bottom.
Also they should switch the temperature settings: up on the right side and down on the left.

For some time now I have been wondering why it is that there is NO BRAND NAME on the Solo.

@2clicker: are you aware that the video in your signature isn't there anymore????

Nice but make sure you also try the cotton method and stick that in your stem!

    Please don't misunderstand me.

I keep my air paths very clean.
If you are into recycling then why not extract the Oil from the ISO?
    Always enjoy good flavor!

I agree they need to come out with a deluxe version:
Chrome, Candy Apple Red, Stingray Blue. I personally like the fact there is no brand name logo on the SOLO. For me it looks very cheesy to put your logo on the product. The product speaks for itself.

The SOLO same height with a 20% reduction in the diameter?

mod note: Please avoid back-to-back posts, use Edit instead. Two posts merged.

    LOL
I thought you had taken Solos apart already, how will you fit that battery with 20% less space??????
Maybe they should give the option to brand it with whatever name you like!
Or you could have that done probably with some laser tool.

I know the insides of the SOLO very well.
In fact I am sure my two SOLO's work better than what you can buy standard.
    I will have one painted.
One custom designed battery instead of two.
Or a AW IMR 18650 3100maH single removable.
30% reduction if not more is possible in diameter.
The SOLO could be the IPHONE of PORTABLE VAPORIZERS!

Indeed, a different size battery could do the trick to make a "pocket-size" Solo!
    This one?
