I was also looking at the cyclone ratchet but my initial concern was that it would have a decent amount of drag to it considering how much water it takes in order to fill in the video. Do you guys think that it would be good for a Solo w/ GonG? My other water path is a 17'' M&M tech double lattice

Thanks for the input, even though I really like the way the 2x96 honeycomb + stemline stacks, I think I'd be better off with a bent neck because when I vape I'll most likely be sitting and it lines up quite well with the height of my desk. So I'm tossing up between the 13" Wubbler double Hd disc and an 8" bubbler.

The only percs I've tried are tree, an inline and I have a showerhead ashcatcher which is kind of like the UFO bubbler but without the neck, which I don't use too often. So I'm a bit out of the loop as to how these other percs function (ratchet, etc) I've had my heart set on a honeycomb style for a while now.

Can anyone recommend what they think would be better for daily use, minimal drag, easy to clean etc? Will only be vaping with occasional combust, don't have access to oils.

My budget is set at $200 AUD, including shipping. (real tight on money atm, shouldn't even be looking at glass) hehe.

So I still haven't seen anyone's opinion about the rocket tree perc, and I was wondering what the hit is like, as in:
Is the pull at the beginning heavy?
Once you start hitting it does it start to flow better?
What's the overall drag like?
And how fast does it clear?

Jhan or someone, if you could weigh in on these it would greatly help in deciding whether or not to get it.

anyone have any 9mm tubes from jhanpixel? opinions? joint strength/welds?
we use uber joints which are about 2.2mm thick
i'll let other members speak about the quality of the build/welds

The rocket perc isn't really my favorite pc it creates allot of larger bubbles which gives you a chuggy feeling kinda like a natural perc/stemless.

i suppose if you want to preserve flavor i would lean more towards this type of perc vs a honeycomb or a showerhead type

Very noticeable weld on @thesoloman 's king stemline...poorly done and I think it deems a refund or repair!
Not cleanly put together, clearly stamped onto the bong.

His bumbler is nice though.

please check the listing the tube listed has the same weld/ring

the "ring" is from the diamond wet saw we using in our shop.
its not air bubbles and the weld is strong in that aspect

the only way the remove the ring is to dip the glass in acid (nasty stuff) or pull it off w/ fire which takes allot more time and increases the cost..

this is the way our shop does it to keep costs down.

thanks

Does the downstem inside that "matrix" go all the way down to the same level as (or below) the lowest ring of exit holes in the perc? It looks so deep I fear only the top (or top few) rings might fire unless plumbing forces all rings to get even exposure.

Good point, had one like that it hit from atop and wasnt set up correctly, and only fired on the top of the perc, you couldnt really achieve a nice draw or pull on it,so limited in its breathing capabilities, wasnt any thing by Jhan,it was cheapo PD rig being sold as a $120 rig worth 2 cents!

yep the 1st few we make as a prototype, all the slits didnt fire. so we had to put a downstem inside (thats what is being done in that pic on the torch) the end result is all slits fire ( or why even have them right? )

but sadly this one thing takes a few extra steps which will add to the overall cost of the unit but i think it should be still competitive in price range

Ok I'm Impressed!

I like the design however do you think it's possible to finish with a 18mm female instead of the big mouth piece?

This design with the ability for those with medical needs to be able to use a smaller mouth piece!

Your work is beautiful!

Jhan, I just picked up an Ascent from DaVinci with the 18mm U adapter. I saw that most of your glass uses 18.8. I'm new to glass am I to assume that they wont work together? Is there an adapter available? I really like your pieces and am particularly interested in the 12 arm 12" bubbler.

I'd appreciate any info you can give me. I am a total newb to glass.

Thanks!

18mm and 18.8mm and sometimes even 19mm are interchangable. It's called "18mm" by most places but as far as I know there's no difference. My tube was labelled as 18.8mm and an 18mm downstem works fine in it.

They're all 18.8mm precision-ground joints. Some folks just can't be bothered with the decimal place and some of those folks round down, some up...

Similarly, "14mm" joints are 14.4mm. The taper angle can vary too, but you won't generally encounter this outside lab glass.

for a drag free exp i would go w/ the MM tech double lattice if those are the only 2 choices

disc percs always have less drag than a downstem/perc combo

Did everyone notice this glass blower recommending ANOTHER glass blowers work ?

That is why this forum is SO damn cool , honest opinions from experts , without any chest-thumping ego bs . Makes me want to buy an AEON piece ...

That may be true, but honestly i've had plenty of business referred by other blowers as well - this community is still pretty small and everyone knows everyone

besides most of my "target customers" own more than 1 piece so i'm not worried that they won't comeback. its better for the customer to find the right piece that meets their needs at that moment.
when those needs change - ill have another shot at it =)

heres a pice of the matrix downstem i was talking about.

vids soon after the run is finished
