VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I have considered the removable battery aspect. I don't think I am going to mess with it in this version but I may down the road. If this was someone's primary device it would be pretty much required. If you do get around to removing your inductors, let us know if there is any kind of...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Yep, I am ok with that. This is not going to be for the full day, or even a long evening. I have other devices that will give me a week of run time. This is the one that fits in a pocket when I take the dog for a walk. I got my first click with the 370mah battery last night.

Tamping the load is going to make the uneven heating worse. Also, never fill it to the top. Leave just a bit of airspace. As for the timing, try to heat it for a second or two less than the clicks. Then let it set for 5-10 seconds, then heat to the click. You just want to slow the process down...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I will be perfectly happy with 4-5 full bowls. I am going for ultimate portability on my next build. That is why I am curious of there are any draw backs to moving the inductors to the back or front of the board. Would adding an inch of wire to each leg of each inductors change the electrical...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Thanks pipes, I think I am going to give it a shot and at least setup a bench setup and see how it does. Are there any drawbacks to moving the inductors to lower the height of the board? I know someone was building a scratch induction heater. Did anything ever come of that?

What is the smallest lipo pack you guys have had success with? I'm looking at the turnigy 370mah 25-40c. That comes out to about 9.25 amps minimum right? I may have missed it but how many clicks are you getting with the 800mah packs?

Will do. The blanks are all machined to size. I am currently working on jigs to keep everything nice and accurate.

I see. I have considered adding a rubber gasket but that will have to wait until I have better tooling.

These definitely will not fit the tubes that came with a dynavap. They are about the same width as the tubes. These are to replace the tubes. Is there a reason you would want the tube to fit inside the dugout?

FrankyB's take on a Dynavap dugout

Hello everyone. I have been lurking on here for about 2 years and you guys have been great. I finally have something to contribute to this wonderful community. I picked up a dynavap m and have really been enjoying it. I decided to make a couple of dugouts that fit my use style a bit better than...
