i got some shatter today and just tried some on the pad. it tasted kinda funny and i kept getting hit after hit. i took 7 good pulls, lots of vape in the exhale and then thought, that's an awful lot of vapor from that little chunk of shatter.

oddly enough, when i vape bud at 445, through my water tool, it's a bit harsh and makes me cough. vaping this shatter through the tool, it was smooth like butter and no coughing!

so i guess my question is, do concentrates last a lot longer in this thing? i'm pretty sure i could have gotten 2 or 3 more good size hits off it but i got concerned that maybe i was vaping something bad in the pad and the taste was still odd?? i dunno.

i tried some shatter with my nector collector and it's good stuff.

input please!

Concentrates last forever in the Herbie. I can blow many bags with a small amount of oil. I agree that the concentrate pads add a weird flavor, so I don't use them very often.

I just bought a herbalizer, its really nice. When I first got it though I could fill a bag in one press of the fan and now its takes multiple presses to fill the bag. How would you fix this?

edit: I found it, it was the top screen. I cleaned it out with iso and its back to one fan press.

I don't get "weird" taste, but I do get a very unique pure taste. sometimes the Herbalizer conveys the taste so well that it's almost uncomfortable. If the wax isn't good it'll taste incredibly strong of mediocre wax and if it's good wax it can be so terpy & tangy it's overwhelming. Weed is too skunky sometimes and weed is too piney.

so damn close to pullin the trigger on an herbie.. only problem is, no vape has ever made fully convert to vaping. im not sure why i think newer tech will ever do it, but i guess i still have some sort of hope lmao.

ive tried damn near every top-end or well-known vape including volcano, arizer extreme, cloud evo, enano, mighty, sub xlr2, mflb, somethingGenie, dab pens, some others that I just can't recall, but it's never really worked. The closest was actually S&B products, the volcano was really nice and had some great customer service and the Mighty is amazing, actually gets me the closest to a combustion high out of anything i've tried. i still currently own a sublimator xlr2 and the mighty.

ive been trying to make the switch to vapes again recently and found some info that I ignored in the past. I should have really tried going pure vape for at least a week or two, like no combustion at all. well that def was not the case because none of those vapes would get me where I'd need, so I'd just mix the two all day long and just give up on the vape.

well I'm going to try again. my first day was yesterday and been using the Mighty only so far. it's a great device. Even made a nice little lego stand for it and pair it with my bong. I still seem to cough at 375 after the 3rd hit. is that normal? and i seem to be using a lot more bud than combusting.

what ive come to realize is that the vape has to be hit MULTIPLE times until its actually done. kinda annoying because ive always been a 1 snapper bowl kind of guy. i tried increasing temp, but 375 is already making me cough at the 3rd hit.. and takes a while.

going to have to try out my sub again today.. seems more of what im looking for, but the only problem with that is the 1hr shutdown, but 30min heat up.. insane.

what do you guys recommend? can you give me some advice? either push me towards or away from buying the herbie.. i mean.. it's still a vaporizer after all right? all vapes product vapor.. how much different can it really be? I think I just need to fix my habits, my methods, vape only/no combust, etc.. or maybe.. the herbie is revolutionary? it looks awesome and nice.. great for my health.. but i dunno.. i just dont know lmao

375 is a starting temp for me, although I'm a lightweight---
IMO you need water, a bubbler or hydratube, to moisturize your vapor. Vapor is not that hot vs combusting (375 vs 1000 F) but it is dry dry dry. Is your cough from your throat feeling so dry that you have to cough?
At 375 you are leaving a lot of goodies "on the table" which might play into you not feeling fully "vaped".
I always finish at 445 F with the Herbie, through water, and vapor is moisturized and pleasant, not harsh.

Two methods below using @Ratchett Herbie V2 Song (silicone adapter that slips over the bowl):

Herbie%20MFLB%20Ion.jpg

Herbie warmup time of 10 seconds is also nice.
And you can kick in the fan for a "turbo-boost" ;)

I'd rate Herbie as overall #2 vape out of the many I've owned or tried with my miniVAP being my #1 vape

damn 445 nice. my mighty only goes to 410. and i do use a water pipe, I have a really nice mighty chalice w/ 16arm tree, gridded stemline and honeycomb disc above, 14mm. the cough is just a forced cough..

i was DYING with my dhgate sov imperial clone that ive been using the last few months with pure combust. just got my mighty chalice and was a huge improvement, but i still wanted to also make the switch to full vape.

combust used to give me this hair-in-throat feeling after I'd do a huge hit or just too much smoking. it kind of went away for a while.. but today its back, right after the 24 hours of mighty vape only. now its coming/going, but def coming right after vape sesh.. kinda sketched

coughing is better vs combust, but with vape its more frequent because i have to keep vaping, keep exposing my throat to vapor over and over where with combust it was one super harsh moment, but then after the fit- done, no more cough and for sure high. but with vaping i just keep going and going, not much higher but worse coughing cuz i gotta keep goin and goin.

do you own an herbie as well or just tried before? and why do you prefer the minivap to the herbie?
do you always use water pieces too?

Yes, I own a Herbie and miniVAP, as they compliment each other very well. Herbie for a really quick session at any exact temp and fan capability. MiniVAP for a longer, more Zen-like ceremony with 7 minute warmup and choice of 4 temps and supreme taste and efficiency (Herbie is close).
And miniVAP is a portable with longest battery life of any portable AND small desktop with the AC adapter puck.

I'd hate to give up either as they are my #1 and 2 of all time.
Both are great and each in a slightly different vape niche---it depends what you want/need/prioritize in vaping

@blazedd I don't think there is anything for you to see here right now. You already have some fine vapes and I think the problem is your usage as you described before with smoking. Stick with the great collection you already have until you finally convert. THEN you will be ready for something different. I'd hate to see you keep throwing good money after bad when what you already have should do the trick when used properly.

I've had my Herbalizer for about a week. This thing just keeps blowing my mind.

Having never used a bag vape before, I used bags exclusively for the first several days I owned the Herbalizer. A month or two ago I had no interest in vaping from a bag, but now I love it. I can fill a bag, take it anywhere I want, then enjoy ten cool, flavorful hits in comfort; quickly. Priceless.

After using a bag exclusively for several days, thinking there's no way the whip could compare to bags, I decided to try out the whip. Now I can't stop using the whip. But I miss the bag.

I love the fact that the Herbalizer's bowl holds a maximum of what seems like half a gram. And even though the bowl is a little less klutz-proof than most other parts, it's still pretty easy for my mostly-useless fingers to operate. I can't think of any other part that's remotely difficult for me to handle or operate.

What this all means is that I'm not going to break my Herbalizer. That may not seem like a big deal to most people, but it's a huge deal when you routinely break important vape parts. It gives me peace. Having peace instead of yet more stress is priceless. Especially when the vape that gives you peace also peaces you out.

The Herbalizer is a true medical vape. As a disabled person who has lost a significant amount of feeling/coordination in my hands (50%?), I never feel like I pose any threat of breaking or damaging any part of the vape. When you are as much of a klutz as I have become, that's huge. I can't say that about either the Aromed or Silver Surfer. I have spent a lot of money on replacement Aromed parts; a direct result of its poor ergonomics for manually disabled users. I have also spent some money on replacement SSV parts.

Even as great as the Underdog is, I still keep reaching for the Herbalizer almost every time I medicate. But the Underdog will still get plenty of use. These two vapes compliment each other.

Greetings - just signed in after a few days rdg 1/2 this section. Sounds like Herbie wins big time with herbs. Easy to follow, (absent all the neat, enhancing equipment pictured) ....

Help in locating a usage/maintenance thread, esp 4 concentrate ...

FASCINATING DEVICE ...

Vapour will get harsher as you get into the higher temps (400+). This is not a result of vapour temperature but the compounds released at these temps. Drawing slower and taking smaller hits will smooth things out but there's no getting around the throat tickle that comes from the higher temp compounds.

I may have understood that the max was standard for concentrate in herbie ... and that the bag method is preferred over whip ... beyond that, especially with attatchments, remind me to take notes from the leaders here ...
Have tried whip vaping around 380/390 - but must be missing something.

Can a topic within a topic be set-up?
Am thinking of 1 focused on tips for using other than herb leaves to vape.
This concentrate researcher is asking for guidance ...

BTW - just playing around - sort of ... Last nite i placed the whip in the top of my simple globe pen attachment. The atomizer was dirty and I wasn't getting much without a lot of effort.
WELL - not a snugging but you must try and let us no ... Not gonna toss my dirty atomizers away after this discovery....

anybody try using the mighty dosing capsules in the herbalizer bowl?
the capsules are a bit smaller in diameter than the herbalizer bowls, but just wondering if it would be safe
.............................................
I have tried the S & B/ Mighty dosing capsules in Herbie, thanks to ChooChooCharlie. They work "ok" but get very hot (be careful with them) and they do not stay in place (no big deal) as they are smaller than the bowl. They can be difficult to load/unload, especially at first, but then they get easier as they loosen up with use. So, they do work and are very inexpensive.
So for me, they work better in my Mighty, as they were made for a Mighty :)

I still prefer my miniVAP Flexicone modules as :
- for me, they are much easier to load/unload
- the silicone Flexicone cools down almost instantly so much easier to handle when hot
- Flexicones fit perfectly
- can use "open face/direct" with only the Herbie bottom chamber so top chamber/screen never need cleaning. And Herbie bottom chamber never needs cleaning
- they allow me to insert tiny degummed hemp filter in flexicone to catch that tiny herb dust tht gets sucks upsteam, absent such a filter
- with flexicones, I can connect direct to a hydratube or an Oregonglassblower long glass mouthpiece
- like the dosing capsules, one can vape at low temp in daytime and then remove capsule to save for bedtime high temp finish

Ohhhhh, so it's not heat it's the stuff heat releases! that was helpful! i bought a bunch of cough drops and use one for every couple of bags. i don't know if it helps much but it's cherry so at least it tastes good. :)

i just did my first couple of bags with the solid valve. very nice. they aren't kidding about solid. the thing is solid and heavy compared to light plastic! i'm dreading swapping the bag out but that will be a couple weeks so i'll worry about it then.

i just realized that i'm inhaling the vape directly from the bag at 420 degrees. it was pretty smooth. it kind of fits my water tool. i'm waiting for my glass bubbler from china apparently. not sure how long they take to deliver.

i'm going to buy 8 different genetics, one 1/8 each. i'm looking for the perfect sativa cross! work, work, work.

Who in here has a minivap and herbalizer? If so, are they good enough to own both? ?

If you're asking if either are worth buying, then the answer is : F*** yeah!

I don't own either, but I have heard, read and talked about both vapes a lot...
For me, the herbalizer is the perfect vaporizer.
While I love my cloud, it is very fragile, therefore, it can break, and that would lead for depression (lol), the Herbalizer whip style is perhaps my favorite way to vape with a partner and it can also be used when laying in bed...what more can you ask ???
It is an amazing device that I find the most suitable for medical usage...

Regarding MiniVap, well, this one works great and it is also received major props in the medical department.
It a small (and can be portable) as well and it delivers amazing vapor...

Anyone who has them can correct me if I'm wrong.
I can't wait for the herbie international version...

MAKE IT HAPPEN!
