What is the best use practice?
I put the ELB in the EVO right before I hit it. Let the device warm up on its own first, if you wait a little after the light turns green and let the unit get heat soaked it will perform better which is why I use an outlet timer to run my EVO 24/7. Insert ELB when you are ready, then relax, grip it and rip it . . .
The draw resistance is little high correct?
The draw shouldn't feel very restricted. Make sure you are not overloading your ELBs and don't pack the material. I usually use a 1/3-1/2 fill making sure that I take into consideration how far the ELB cap goes into the basket which lowers the volume. But restictions in airflow from over packed ELBs or by accidently covering the inlet on the bottom can lead to charring.
I think when you get stoned in a new way, you get much higher.
This is true and we call it vape signature. Every vape will effect you differently and when new, or not used for a while, will do what you describe. Thats why some of us rotate our vapes.

Yea, only recently have I figured it out. Because, the exact samething happened with e pens and also edibles. Was getting that deep stone with munchies. Now, I must say, it's just a fantastic high. I am using both e pen and the evo, and it's really incredible. There are absolutely new tastes, that I had not had before. Much more of a full flavor. Like more of a piney, sweet and earthy taste.

Using the evo is just a pleasure. Snapping the hydrapiece onto the base, the glass on glass part fitting together is just great.

Also, man, I think vaping juice is the most efficient method of consumption.

That may be however some people, like me, find that vaping concentrates does not provide the same body high that flowers do. Flowers are definitely better for me in managing my chronic pain. Something happens in the extraction process that loses something. It could be terpenes or something else but the difference is easy for me to feel. This is why EVO and the Crafty and Mighty rule my world.

wow, I feel exactly the same way, I thought I was just weird lol :p
I don't have much experience with concentrates..
I've only tried making my own rosin and although it's nice, tasty and potent, I feel like it's missing something from the flowers.

Agreed. I only just got access to good concentrates on the regular a few months ago and while I do use them a lot I do feel I still need that flower backbone to really knock out my pain. Concentrates seem more euphoric. I like a mix but the Evo with flower is for sure the most medicinal for me, dabs are purely recreational on my part.

Thats how I had it set up at first. But the bottom chamber has slits in its cylinder like the top one, as if water should be in it. Are you sure there should not be water in it?

positive.
if water were to cover the slits in the bottom chamber to act as a perc, you'd have water in your evo and on your herb

I put just enough water to cover the 2 slots in the top chamber and that's it.

When I pull, it whistles. It seems like its the base piece itself that whistles a little. Doesn't bother me, but I wonder if it means anything?

If you go on the FAQ video for the Evo, I found it on YouTube. The first question is "my Evo is whistling, is this a problem" the answer is no, all Evos can whistle because of the bamboo design, but it happens mostly with newer units and when you draw on the faster side, it may always whistles a bit but if it's whistling on like every hit that will go away with some use. Mine whistled so loud that it scared my cat lol. It sounded like a dog whistle I swear. I put the strap from the heat shield on the bottom which was a quick fix and now that I've used it there is only a whistle when I draw real fast. And it's much quieter :) hope that helps people who get a new Evo and are worried about the whistle.

Does anyone have the Symbiartic hydratube, that could attest to their diffusion/efficiency? Considering one. Already have a Hydrabomb tube. $500 is a lot.

My EVO used to whistle when I first got it... it literally does not whistle anymore after 6 months.

I've found that packing the material tighter reduces the whistling significantly.

Tube is amazing! It's my first fancy piece of glass so I guess I'm no expert, but I really enjoy it. I find I get more flavor with my turbine, but it really does diffuse incredibly, and I enjoy using it with concentrates more than the turbine. I also picked up one that was "factory seconds" that was supposed to have a wobble, but I've never noticed it as an issue? My unit did arrive with its logo slightly rubbed off though, like the second image on the HT page, although not as severe. As far as I can tell my percs are aligned perfect!

Quick question....does anyone know how many amps the evo pulls? The reason I ask is because I'm wanting to use it outside and I don't have any outlets. I've got a 16 awg 25 foot extension cord that is rated for max 13 amps. Just want to make sure I'm not exceeding that.

Edit...it appears the evo power cord is 18 awg. I think that means I'm ok.
