Thanks for your time @phattpiggie but I am not sure what you mean with the paper mod comment... How does it explain what I asked? I hope you are right about the condenser but maybe there is still a small gap for fresh air to come in. Maybe someone who has an OV will chime in as well. I have tried creating the effect you described with a silicon ring leaving just a haircrack for air to enter from the hole but again the results were nothing like the ones I get with a closed hole.
If there is enough airflow through the cap to allow for a series of gentle mouthpulls the vapor production is even better than the Lotus and Crafty IME, taste might be better as well...

I also have to say that I think there is something wrong about the standard way of using the Vapcap. From my tests when the hole is open or feathered or pulsed etc the amount of heating cycles (assuming you heat the same area on the cap) that are needed to finish a load is the same with a closed hole and mouthpulls. The amount of vapor produced though is night and day. With an open or semi open hole I don't get nearly as much vapor as with a closed one and airflow through the cap only. Or maybe there is a better way than the intended design? Is it a happy accident maybe???

@natural farmer, the issue for me is that a fully-closed carb hole actually provides too much vapor, causing me to cough up a lung if I'm not careful. I had a friend, who is a cigarette smoker and accustomed to his Mighty, try it, and he hated the closed carb for the same reason.

In the end, I like that we're sharing ideas, and the VapCap satisfies each of us in our own way. My current preferred method, "fluttering" the carb, actually was the result of trying your recommendation. So, thanks.

Hi everybody, i'm reading this thread or a fews weeks now.....
I don't really need a new vape, you know...I play with my minivap or lotus, or vaporgenie etc.
But i love the flame based vapes.
The first was a bulb homemade, then the vaporstar, then the vapman ...After a vapocane and finaly the lotus
it seems that the vapcap is the outcome.
i would like a omnivap Woody

Well, this is an interesting development...

It's almost as if the Evo was made for this, it fits/works so well. I'm using the @phattpiggie paper mod btw and it is working well for me so far.

George says the Dynastash is going to grow to accommodate the 14mm VonG's.

This would make for an incredibly versatile little package.
A tiny stash /vape container which houses a vape that can either be used native, or (without ANY alteration) in a bubbler etc.

I'm uncertain whether he meant that the whole ' footprint ' of the Dynastash will grow to fit the VonG, or if the space for the vape will simply be drilled out a little larger.
Either way, it's yet another potentially great development.

Dynavaps really strike me as great 'heirloom' items.
In a saner world these would have replaced the pocket watch as the default retirement gift, to aid the enjoyment of post-work life, instead of reminding that it's running out!
I love that you can order them engraved, what a great gift.
If we could get simple images engraved that would be even more awesome (I'm thinking of those 'tattooed' Vapman's here).
I guess we could get that done ourselves anyway now that I think of it.

Multi clicks and no clicks (maybe)

As I've been using my OG VC over the last week I've noticed a few things that make me wonder if mine is working properly or if there are just a few finer points I can't seem to find in the thread.

When it cools down, I get a light click - actually more of a clack if that makes sense. Then after 5 - 10 seconds I'll get a solid click. Is this normal? It doesn't seem to make much difference on the next hit which I heat after, tho it takes less heat after the light click/clack than the solid click for it to click that it is heated again. Is heating after the second, louder click the best way to use? Is it better for the VC to wait for it?

Does the same thing happen when heating, or is it supposed to? When heating I usually get more of a crackle click. It crackles for a split second, then makes a light click (in between the two sounds it makes when cooling as told above - but audible and able to feel it). Is there another click soon after this I should wait for?

Twice over the past couple days I combusted and am pretty sure it didn't click. The first time I thought I must have missed the click, tho I was waiting for it - but, was sitting in traffic and thought other sounds in car might have made me miss it. Second time I'm a bit more sure it didn't click at all. I seemed like it was taking quite a while to click so I stopped heating. Both times the condenser was full of smoke. It has clicked as it normally does since. Is this normal? Something to watch out for? Maybe my cap is just slightly faulty or something? Maybe I should go with something less powerful than a triple torch?

I'm waiting for my Ti/Woody and will see if it behaves the same and go from there, but hoping for a little insight from some of you pros.

After a week I am still loving this little bugger, though!! Sometimes I use ground, sometimes rip a nug. The experience is just a bit different, but I really enjoy both. One of the things I thoroughly enjoy is that I can just take a couple small hits here and there and keep my wits about me. Usually a heat or two is enough to feel just a little medicated and simple to repeat every hour or two. Also really cool this thing is so non-descript (and thinking Ti/Woody will be even more so). Not really worried taking a hit or two sitting in traffic. Is easy to heat it low and out of sight and take a couple hits without looking like I'm catching a buzz. If I see anyone checking me out when I do, I just take a few puffs off my e-cig and think they figure this is just a different one.

The downside of all of this? I used to just wait until later to get buzzed. Now, it's so easy, instant and relatively non-suspicious I'm vaping way too much when out and about. Well, not way too much I guess but things like going to the grocery store are a lot more interesting than they've been since I was an all day stoner in my youth!

Now we just need an affordable and more minimal version for the rest of us....I know it's coming sometime....

Sometimes two clicks on the heat up, at first I always expected a second click, when the second click takes to long or doesn't happen it scorches so now I pay attention to the first click, even if its the "light feeling" first click, so yes stop at the first click and don't always expect a 2nd click or you'll most likely scorch.


I also get 2 clicks on the cool down, I wait for the 2nd cool down click since I'm still exhaling by the time the cool down clicks happen.

So my answer is two clicks, sometimes, on heat up and cool down. I now pay attention to the first click on heat up cause you will scorch if the second click doesn't happen or takes to long to click from the first click.

Being a fairly new EVO owner and seeing that video, I'm about to place my VC order... only question is, Triple or Quad torch lighter? Opinions?

You will end up with "Torch Lighter Acquisition Syndrome", you'll most likely buy 1,2,3, and of course 4 torch flame lighters, the lighters are cheap if you buy direct from China on Ebay. The lighters run about $5 delivered, they take about 2-3 weeks to be delivered. I'm still finding out whats the best lighter, I want the best heat output for the VC, but I also don't want to be filling up my lighter every three days, so far I'm still researching.http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pocket-size-torch-lighters.13941/page-7#post-947401

Triple works plenty fine for me. And, don't want to take any business away from George, but plenty of lighters out there to choose from. I just picked up a nice one from a local cigar shop for $5 that looks like one of these:



And, grabbed a spiffy one from amazon for $12.95. Automatically opens and closes, is pretty compact, and lasts surprisingly long between fills for its size.

The Lighter you bought from Amazon, the Scortch 3 flame lighter, keep the little black lighter carry bag that it comes with, that's the bag I'm using in the pic from the previous page, fits the VC tube with the VC in it, a lighter, and a tube of ground up herbs.

The Scortch I bought is a gas hog, I refilled it in 1 1/2 days of use. I'm finding the plastic 3 flame torch lighter I bought from a US online cigar shop my current favorite, I paid almost $9 bucks for it, I ordered identical looking lighters from Ebay with a different label, hopefully the Chinese $5 dollar lighter will be the same lighter as the one I bought here aonline at the cigar shop.

If you intend to take your VC on an outdoor excursion, I now know from experience that you want a SEE THROUGH lighter, this way you know exactly how much butane is inside your lighter, buy a translucent color lighter for outdoor use, use the elegant lighters with friends at home or in the yard. I ran out of gas far away from home where I keep my refill cans of butane, I was walking for exercise and did not have a wallet to buy a lighter on my walk, I had a VC packed with bud and no way of heating it, I think I ran home that day, fuk walking!

I have one of those black/chrome triple jets, too. Not sure if it is an official Scorch but it sucks up the tane, too. The other Scorch I posted above doesn't seem to use nearly as much and is even smaller.

Great tip on the translucent lighter (or one with a sight glass). Part of the reason I chose the one I did at the cigar shop.

Thanks for the tip on the bag! I may use it when warmer weather is here and larger jacket pockets aren't. I have a couple cheap small camera cases that work great for a kit box, but are a pain to carry in jeans pocket.

Man I haven't heard one complaint about the Omnivap yet...I can't wait to buy one when I have the extra dough.

@VapCap I was wondering, how much extra are Omnivaps with the wood centers going to be? wasn't that interested in the omni before I saw the wood version, I just like the feel of wood for this kind of vaporizer

I'm really enjoying that lighter, I keep the butane adjustment right about half on the +/- dial. I think you will like that lighter. So far it's been pretty good at everything I need, pretty good on butane, lightweight for pocket carry, translucent to see butane level, and cheap!
