I've really liked the Apollo that is launching now and the storm pen that is a much cheaper solution.. I'm really not sure how to plan this ahead..

Well, a backup is always a nice thing to have. I'd say why not get just a new plate and have it at home in case something happens. But, if you lose the cap, then you have a problem.

If i have funds to spare, i'd much rather invest in something that complements the Lotus rather than a 2nd Lotus. If i had a lot of funds to spare, i probably would have a 2nd Lotus Kit on deck.

well I already have changed my hot plate almost 3 months ago, the old one is still functioning in case something goes wrong. What worries me is the fact that my lotus cap has been slightly harassed I dare to say. As a result, at the moment I only have 2 screws on it and it has burnt on two spots at the sides and when I had it opened, I saw that the wood on several spots has really been burnt, charcholed really.. So always a back up as u said is nice to have.. that's how I'm thinking about it.. Plus it will be the hi-temp one so it will be even stronger!!

I'd say in your position a new cap is warranted.

BUt, don't you have the WPA? Because the 90€ at verdampftnochmal, are for the water kit i believe.

Just because you'll want milk shots and those take a lot more heat to brew.

Never had any experience with the older caps but I think they can char ?

Tried some Cotton Candy hash in the Lotus the other day.

Holy Flavor Town!!!
Massive clouds, amazing flavor and taste!

Went in green and came out a dark brown!

I tried some just on the screen - best flavor!
Another one on some ABV - taste not so good as the ABV lent its hand in the flavor department....
Last one was hash on fresh bud - blended flavor with very nice clouds!!

I will not be using ABV as a bed for hash anymore, only plain or as a fresh bud topper.

I've been completely whitewalling my d020-d without any dark streaks ever since I started rotating the lotus ontop of the bubbsy while hitting. Awesome tip...just be careful!

Unfortunately, it's 90€ just for the hi-temp cap!! The whole kit with the hi-temp cap is at 160E i think..

No problematic at all!!! It's just that you need to be careful with the torching of the plate. Make sure that you only torch it in the centre of it with circular movement around it. DO NOT torch the plate in any other parts, it will make your wood char. The hi-temp cap is better for solid as well since you have the ceramic ring on top of the plate, which probably gives you some extra resistance. Normal cap works like a charm as a WPA or as a normal vaporizer with the stem or a j-hook. Speaking of which, I'm loving my stem even more and more.. It's so mobile, that hardly anyone notices you if you play it normal as well. When a hit will normally take you less than 15", they need to be really focused on you so that they get what's going on.

I have my case in the co-driver's cabinet and I can have a hit even when waiting at a stop-light!

Man I love using bubble hash in the Lotus. Makes bowls last forever! Never tried hitting it just on the screen as the stuff I have right now would just melt through it into the WPA but on top of some bud makes for a tasty experience. Flavor doesn't suffer as you get towards the end of a bowl!

This and my Cloud EVO are my 2 favorite vapes for sure. I think the Lotus, with proper technique, can give rips just as thick and tasty as the Vapexhale.

I don't think so. The Lotus I have was primarily used with the WPA, and was produced before there were two types of caps. It works fine! And hasn't charred yet.

A tiny bit of cotton off a q-tip works really well for oil and meltables. No longer get angry when a vape pen leaks.

You will just need a simple 18-14mm adapter like this;

The lotus wpa is a 14mm grind that bubbler has an 18mm grind. Imo its the perfect setup, because I think its nicer to have glass on glass and the lotus wpa has orings witch wedge it into that glass adaptor with a slight push. I like a smooth clear and glass on glass is perfect rubber on glass is grabby and not so nice to clear the bubbler hit.

Those will all work, I cant see a picture of the 3rd one but i think its like the 2nd one yeah? The first one will just be longer. I'd go the short ones they look neater but it's up to you. You might want a long one?

Anything 14 female to 18 male will work.

18.8 is fine so is 19, its the same size. You can get different taper grinds but they will all fit a sure grind 18mm ie sg18.

The 3rd one is the same as the second, but the third one is a little cheaper. As long as all you need is 18 mm male and 14 mm female and the 18.8 won't make a difference, I might get the 2nd or 3rd one. Thank you very much for the help.

I've had my Lotus for five days now and have been using it exclusively since (not uncommon when dealing with new vapes). I have never combusted myself, but this Lotus has experienced four combustions between my friends. I'm gad I haven't combusted yet, but I've definitely gotten close...split-seconds make a huge difference.
I can pack a near full 3/4ths bowl and kill it in two massive lungbusters successfully if I wish, with perfect abv both hits.
I can't get the massive consistent clouds like I can with my LSV, but hopefully with more practice I can get there.
Don't get me wrong, I've blown clouds that amaze combusters. In fact, one of them had told me he wants to make the switch to 100% combustion-free vaping, and wants his first vape to be the Lotus. He's in love with the mastery level needed for perfect vapor, and he obviously loves the entire setup: the sleak zico torch, tiny wpa, and awesome magnetic connection. Just a great piece. I believe @ataxian calls this the greatest wpa of any vape...I would have to agree from what I've used. Nothing easier.
I brought the Lotus and small bubbler out to "church" in the woods, and they paired perfectly together. Obviously there was a photo-shoot...pics to come when I get around to it.

I'm not sure Ataxian as a hook since glass and his hands aren't friend. (lol)

For home use I prefer the J-hook ( now I'm playing with wood as well

). The taste should be better (it depends on the cleaning mostly), I find the al-stem to be really close if not the same. But what I love is to see the flow of vapor going to you, just a beauty to look at it ! It is also the best feedback to not react too late if you see some too thick vapor for a longer time than you re used.

Regarding taste- for this scenario, lets assume all pieces are clean

I'd argue that the Al stem tastes better with its smaller chamber.

If it were combustion, I'd be right on your side that glass tastes better- BUT vaping does not necessary have the same effects and flavor can be equally as good with metal, wood, plastics (think Plenty or Volcano chambers)and other modern materials and composites.

I totally agree with you in the case of the Lotus between glass and al stem thus why I wasn't so straight about the statement and used : "should be "... Like you said the tiny channel for the vapor to travel through the al-stem help in flavor conservation. Also you need to use wpa so it's not all-glass. In the other hand, the visual feedback you get with glass really help to change your draw and the extraction rate, which could improve the taste ...

But I disagree with wood : maybe my wooden stem is too new and need to wear, but for sure the taste is far from glass or a-stem. . Also wood being more difficult to clean it will get his own taste and smell with the time.
Now I dream of a wood-lined glass pipe, to counter-act the loss on taste while still having a beauty indestructible wooden stem.

I have maybe 4 SHERLOCKS (JHOOKS) made of glass.
Buying more of course!

The other materials are horrible.

That's why some famous vaporizers are turn off's despite their popularity.

LOTUS does have the best WPA and other's have horrible taste or too fragile.

Were all different and some may not be as sensitive as me?

My glass collection is shrinking however the pieces I have are really amazing.
LIMESTONE floors are nice however very unforgiving on glass.
My wife hates carpet so I have a budget for glass.

The LOTUS has a WPA that does not interfere with my budget!
