Cleaning up our lsv thread, I see how it is.

Anyone else leave their lsv on noon about 12 hours a day? If I know I'll be back soon I'll just turn the temp down so the handle stays that nice luke warm, and the glass is already hot when I get back so I just gotta crank that temp up a few spots and wait for that glow as I'm good to go!

My unit never gets hot at noon or under, regardless of how long I leave it on. If I leave it on 1:30+ for an hour+ then then lsv will be pretty damn hot but still usable. Anything higher than that is danger zone.

I usually turn mine on when i want to use it , it usually gets up to temp in about 5 minutes for me , so while i am preparing what i am going to pack in there i leave it on for a few. I just dont feel comfortable leaving it on all day esp when i am not home.

I agree. if i'm not around I'll most definitely shut it off, as the heatup is very very fast.
BUT...
IME, a 15-30 minute heatup is much more consistent than a 5 minute heatup, as the glass is hot, aluminium is hot, etc. I looove ripping the lsv after it's been on all day, I notice much more consistent vapor production.
If I'm just turning on my LSV, I'll NEVER wait 15 minutes just to vape...I'll be ripping it within 3, haha. Just a nice experience when it's already on for us.

what kind of whip are you guys attaching to this? Can I get a silver surfer or dabuddah made vinyl or is it more of a DIY thing? See some stuff left at vapeUSA and wonder if they might work
And I like a smaller bowl full than it looks like it works best with. Can you do like the Arizers and put in a screen to get a smaller session? I think vapecritic said .2 to .4 was optimum but I like around .1 or so.

DDave's Mod comes with a whip, so the whip just slides into the M2M, opposite end of what goes into the LSV.
You can rig your own I guess, just find an 18mm tubing? Maybe a tad larger and slide it over.

ok ordered the mod - looks like that answers my questions on load size too. wish there was a 14mm version but oh well.
so is this like an Arizer Air? for concentrates just put the product on some flower or cotton or metal screen and pack in the mod?

I've been experimenting with my newly acquired LSV, anyone else try the Storz & Bickel concentrate pads?
I ordered a set of Plenty pads from PIU, and cut out a disk to fit in the end of an 18 male/male adapter.
I had to crank my LSV all the way up, but managed to get some great flavorful dabs of some Green Crack wax I've got.
I was a bit worried when after the first hit it all melted into the pad and I didn't get much of a hit, but the second and third hits were lung busting so no worries about too much loss. Fourth hit gave minor wisps and the fifth nothing.
Overall pleased with this method.

I've been using Crafty liquid pads with the WPA

I haven't tried one yet, so I can't comment on how it compares to other methods, but it's a nice form factor solution. When I finally get a hold of some concentrates I will be able to help more.

You might look at a heater cover off of a Buddha it puts the heater real close to the M2M so it kicks up the hot air flow. However it has downsides as well, kind of a trade off.

This is what I'll be using. A s&b pad stuffed in a basket screen

Works well for the EQ. Can't see it not working well for the LSV.

I would really like to try out DDaves LSV mod V1 but to ship to the UK just seems a bit excessive price wise $34/£24 shipping just for a tiny bit of glass and a few screens!

Is shipping really that expensive in the US! An equivalent tracked and signed for parcel from UK to USA is $12.50/£8.80

It's really that expensive depending where you are exactly..I mailed something to Wales and it was cheap but sent something recently to another part of uk and it was super expensive for just envelope...

Wow! A bit ridiculously overpriced then (shame on you USPS)

What I also find a bit strange is that you were charged differently depending on where it went in the UK. The price I quoted above with Royal Mail is a blanket cost to wherever it goes in the US

I would and could understand if Royal Mail charged differently for items to be sent to the US because of the vast area it covers, but they dont. But for USPS to charge different rates to send to the UK is unfair, the country is tiny in comparison, especially when a flat rate applies in the UK wherever it is delivered domestically.

I'm unsure about this piece and looked on LSV site and never found a pic of it in use.
Is it a 14 or 18 (options) male joint, then long or short glass options, then is that top flared part a mouthpiece or what? Could it be used as a 14 or 18 mm glass mouthpiece??

The lsv sits on the rounded edge with some support from your hand, the 14/18mm are joint size options depending on the water piece. Tall and short just varies the load size. It would make one uncomfortable mouthpiece.

it's a WPA. you need to unscrew the top of the LSV to use it. Most guys seem to prefer the 18mm M2M. I like using this WPA with the Crafty pad for concentrates.

You want short if your using it with the lsv , works better imo and most that have used them . I have 18mm , not sure if they come in 14mm . They can really only be used with the lsv. See the flared top , that is made to unite with the lsv's heater core glass end . The top is not a mouthpiece and may be kind of awkward using it that way , i know i wouldn't.
