Discontinued The Grasshopper

Hi
finally got my hopper :)
well, it is the smallest vaporizer, still a big chamber compare to other ceramic chamber vapes.
Taste (especially if you put in a small amount of stuff) is excellent.
The only thing i don't understand is, why is shut off automatically after 10s, wen it isn't nearly hot ?
so i must turn it off and on again and again.....?
i do solve that by pressing on button on the half way, so i just release it and it goes of, kind of manual mode, but i am not sure if that is OK

rip it harder! so the device know that you are still there using it. it has a air flow sensor in it. GH is not a Solo for you. this thing is for bong hits. ;)

For what it's worth, I've seen at least one person buy a used unit who said they had no problem getting it warrantied

Thanks, but the manual states that the warranty is only valid for the original purchaser. Ah well, i'll deal with whatever comes my way and just be appreciative that I walked into this when so many have to wait so long.

Should be here tomorrow!!!

I got my Hopper today, and it's absolutely fantastic. I do have a few small criticisms, though:
  • The threads on my anodized unit are gritty; although it still threads smoothly and easily, it does so loudly.
  • There's a gap between the temp dial and clip ring that's larger than it could/should be. It doesn't wobble or anything, and I'm not too worried about it catching on something. A simple fix would be to make the ring a little taller. I'm going to email them and ask if this is intended, and if so, if there would be any issues with sticking a small O-ring in the space. I will also ask if doing so will void the warranty.
  • The length of cord after the transformer in the charging cable is so long that it has to be bent by the USB housing when it's in the retail box. It's an easy way to weaken an otherwise excellent quality cable. I haven't used the cable yet, and I only plan on doing so for emergencies (I have an external charger and 4 batteries), due to speculation of it playing a part in causing the red/blue flash.
All the pros that have been said before are true. You really don't realize how quickly this gets to operating temp until it's doing so in your hand. Even with the aforementioned cons, this device is an easy 10/10 in my book. It operates just as well as you want/need it to, and I really do think they met the expectations that were set in the original Indiegogo campaign description. Once you use this device, it becomes quite obvious that this is the reason for the delays; they wanted to meet the level of quality that they had promised us while remaining profitable. In my opinion, it was worth the time both for them and for us. I'm very excited to see what accessories they come up with, as I assume they will be of equal quality. Be patient everyone; it's worth the wait.

Like you biohacker I am potentially in a position to acquire one. It's just the possibility of warranty woes bumming me out right now. It's not gonna end well otherwise I think.. But... I want it :(

I really wish GHL would come out and say they won't honor warranties on individual ebay sales. No offense to any potential buyer, but it's sad and stupid the way these things are being bid up. I don't see how GHL would benefit from sellers getting triple the retail price. It just looks fishy to me. Best of luck to everybody...

Guess i'm waiting in line for a battery! This is going to be a struggle, I think i'll just dedicate my only battery to become my new "plug in trash battery" and use it plugged in too.
more power when vaping with cable. that is true. worth sacrificing one battery for heavy duty clouding. :)

i wonder,... what happens if taking out battery and tying to run it on cable only?

You know I have your back , right .
But it does sound a little fishy , BNIB = brand new in box ?
And he's selling , below retail ? While others are selling them
at 3x the cost on the same Ebay .

I hope it all works out for you .
and
Invite me over to try it ... :brow:

I don't know much about batteries, will it effect the quality/longevity of the battery if you charge a single battery with different methods (like charging a battery on the cable then when it's done charging in the nitecore charger)?

I thought I read that it works while plugged in and charging? Seems odd with the little bit of clicker space left once it is on the charger. I didn't try it seeing that I'm on #3 unit. Can anyone confirm yay or nay?

Oh, and the grittiness goes away once you keep turning the tip, jigmelon.

I honestly didn't know they were going for so much on ebay!? Maybe he didn't know either...I found it on kijiji, the dude is a young doctor, I dunno...I have the tracking number, and he's setting up the GHL account with all my info.... for the price I paid it was definitely a no brainer. But now i'm not even sure I should open it!?

A GHL account in your name , you should have the
lifetime warranty then , is my guess . Def. open it ...
Looking forward to your review .

Fingers crossed it will be like that! :) I just cant wait the waiting time.

In the meanwhile, I haven't stopped watching reviews and videos of GH and I keep on imagining myself with it and I just cant get enough of these thoughts :p
