Am I the only one using max temp on my vapes

PPN

Volute of Vapor
It depends the vape I use and the session I want!

Some vapes are pretty strong on higher temperature, i.e the Inhalaters, Imag's, ESV, Cloud's (fromVXL), E-nano and I forgot maybe others I didn't tried. This vape are too strong that it's not really enjoyable to turn them to the max, not really tasty and a waste of goodies.

Sometimes I want to whitewall my WT and turn my vapes higher and sometime I really prefer to enjoy a nice taste and I can make a 20-30mn session with my HA, MiniVap, Alfa, Haze,...

Although I prefer to don't get a black abv, not for save it but cause this last hits between a dark brown abv and a black one are never enjoyable and let you a bad taste in the mouth!

max temp? strange concept ... my temp control sw cuts off at 500°F, and i've run as hot as 450°F, but usually, depending on strain i just use 395°F, which will exhaust the herb load before the 7.5 minute cutoff - about 12 to 15 hits. depending on the herb. i'm a detail-oriented type person (gf says anal retentive - what ev er) so i love precise temp and consistency - session after session after session - no thought required, no user fiddling, just pleasant hits.

I start at low temp 365 F° to get nice tasty hits then ramp it up to max as the taste goes away.
I thought this was how everyone did it.
I wouldn't mind it, as the tech advances im sure clouds will get bigger at low temps but for the moment I'll take the lower taste but bigger clouds at higher temps.

I like the flavor of low-temp hits, but not as much as I like the effects of a full-spectrum hit. I think this is why vapes like the volcano have such staying power, despite its obvious disadvantages it extracts fully.

I'm pretty sure big clouds waste THC and I don't want to be so flippant as to let my meds blow away.

I'll take effect over show anytime.

I'm pretty sure you may be right, but like many others a bit of extra bud being vaped and you get big clouds with bigger effects, which to me is better... All relative.

I get stoned all day. I'm retired. I'm seldom in a big hurry, so I like to enjoy the flavor of the strain at a lower temp, and then finish off at a higher temp, esp. if I'm looking for pain relief. I cough big time if I go straight to 410 degrees w/o passing "low". There is no right or wrong way. I suspect if I was just off work and I had a bad day, (or even a good day), I would want to get elevated as quickly as possible. There are just ways we vape, and they are all good. Fast, slow, big clouds, little clouds, all day, once a day, before bed, (but never at dusk) they are all valid ways to enjoy our medicine.

Interesting. I usually vape on one temperature and it's not on max. I am now at 190C.

But I think I may try your way. I have time to vape sessions. But I like seeing clouds.

I may try a bigger bowl. Start low at 165 and work up to 190 for some nice flavor.

On weekdays I only vape in the evening (after work) so I usually run at a higher temp for full spectrum effects.

On weekends sometimes I start early in the day so I will start at a lower temp like 190c and save my abv. Then that night I re-vape it at 210c - 230c (depending on the vape). Some weekends I've got nothing on for the day so I crank it up early. If I fall asleep on the couch at lunch time so be it :D

I only do this with my EQ and my solo. With my butane powered vapes I usually fully cash the load before emptying.

Ever wonder where a vape is taking the temp (if it is at all)? I have a portable vape that has a max of 429F but drops 150F after you take a hit. I leave it on max because the vape is lacking. The probe is on the outside of the undersized heater.

My desktop measures the temp on the glass on the outside of the airpath. There are plain old temp numbers and if I go too high I can combust on every hit. There is no need for the idea of "max temp". I just use temps that taste the best or irritate my lungs the least. I run with the outside glass at 270F which ends up being around 380 inside the air path.

So I think the need for "max" depends on the vapes performance or how accurate of a tool it is.
