I would say do yourself a favor and play with your Zap even MORE - Try it with the coozie before you try the 13.5.

They feel kind of 'similar' with vapor thickness and production (okay maybe the 13.5 is a wee but hotter) but having the coozie is kind of like a middle ground that I enjoyed playing with. Man...
12v, 13.5v, Coozies, Bongs, Tubing Extensions... So many choices to play with!

Yea, the MZ may be a simple device but its still versatile with respect to different configurations that can be set up. I will first try the 12 V alone, then the 12V with a coozie, then the 13.5 V alone, then maybe with a coozie. I tend to think that the 13.5V with a coozie will be overkill and would run too hot and I most likley will not need to go that far. I'm one for experimentation.

I would say you for sure will not need to run it with a koozie and the 13.5. Towards the end of longer vape sessions using the 13.5, there are times when it gets too hot and harsh for me. Then I switch back to the 12. Although running warmer than it used to, it usually runs too cool for me to keep in on the 12 for the start of a session. My son's vape, which is the new configuration, seems to run a tad hotter than mine, which is the old style. He will still occasionally use the 13.5. I'm sure you will figure out what is best for you as you familiarize yourself with your Zap. :)

I also bought a 13.5V adapter for my MZ because I like my ABV to be dark brown when I take it out and be certain I have all the cannabinoids vaped. With the 13.5V I think I will have to add a small hose to extend my tubes length because it is too hot and harsh and I think it can be fixed with some extension. The original 3 inch tube might be too short for those that like it vaped at high temps.

hades65, Rick is now supplying a length of hose with his MZs. You could contact him, or try to find some yourself. The inner diameter needs to be 1/2" and it should be good grade. I find it allows you to take bigger hits and cools the hits substantially.

yes, the tubing helps substantially.

it is interesting, I find that the vapor burns my tongue or mouth but does not burn the back of my throat. If I use the tubing it is better. This is the main reason I am excited about the glass. I like the hits to be more cool.

Screwdriver, I don't think Rick is sending out any of the old style units anymore, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it. You could ask him to be sure. Make sure to remember to say you are from FC so that you get an extra stem. :)

Well placed an order for one just before I left for lunch.....Made my decision by reading all the threads about the MZ and others here.

Can't wait to get it :D

mom,
you said that you owned glass made by CD. I am assuming you use it with the zap. Is that right? do you find that the fit is tight?

bring on the dirty comments......

Dirty comments? In my experience the PD will let you stick whatever you want in it. PD or MZ stems. The MZ is a little more selective in what slides it's way in, only MZ stems it just doesn't go both ways.

And here I was trying to behave myself and be more ladylike. :p

You wont have any trouble with the stem at all. It actually fits a tad looser than the Zap stem but not so loose that it's a problem. I actually just polished my Zap and used mine.....

the fit is just right.... ;)

Edit: Just for the record... I do not go both ways Krazy!

But all kidding aside, I have no problem using CD's stem in my Zap.

that is good. I just acquired a woodeez from someone and I find that the stems from that product are too big for the zap...just barely. so it is interesting that you said CD's is somewhat smaller. I was assuming that both used the same tips. maybe that is not the case.

Screwdriver - I think you will be happy with your whole MZ experience. Rick is very easy to deal with. I've ordered three from him now and haven't got one negative thing to say. Hope you will post some pics when you get it. :)

ob - speaking of pics, I've noticed you are struggling with posting them. When you upload your pic to Imageshack, there is an option for resizing. In the drag down, pick "do not resize." Then, after you have uploaded the pic, copy and paste the forum link into your post. That should give you the bigger pics that load onto the forum. hope this works for you.

mom,
thanks. the main issue is that I want the pic to appear in the body of the message and not as a link. I am not sure how to do that.

If the WDZ stems dont fit the MZ chances are they are slightly thicker metal than the stems used for the PD.
I've used all my PD stems in a MZ no problem, snug fit, but not enough to screw up the MZ trying to fit them in.

If you load the pic into imageshack, then copy the forum link, you should be able to paste that link into your post here and it should show up as a picture instead of a link once you submit it.
